I loved the concept, but Tessa really irritated me, to the point of distraction. I thought she was extremely selfish and immature. That's the only complaint I have. Jason is a perfect BBF, and I love how Wright writes her smut. The dialogue isn't cheesy, and is realistic. I just wish I didn't dislike the heroine as much as I did.
This book kinda made me laugh. How does a hot doctor who has everything call for a girl that has no spine? I felt like Jason would be the almost perfect guy other then the bragging part to his partner. But Tessa needed to grow a backbone. I understand part of why she was the way she was. Her mom is a real winner. But the way she acted was a little immature. Maybe if the book was longer and could have had a little more insight to Tessa it would have been better.
Second book I have read from this writer and just as enjoyable as the first. Extremely fast paced love story. Tessa and Jason are neighbors. He invites her over for one for a beer. Things quickly escalate between them. But it isn't that easy. Enjoyable well written enjoyable characters with extremely sexy characters who have steamy hot chemistry. Loved it. Can't wait to read more.
Good storyline and great characters The book has just about everything you could ask for in a nice read for a summer’s day. It’s got angst, steam, fun, laughter, tears, uncertainty, and a lovely ending. It was a great one-sitting read for me. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters very much.
I'd give a rating of 2-2.5. The characters were ok. The H was fine, but the h had no backbone. Up until the last 2 pages I want really sure how the book would end. It's an easy quick read and that's the best thing about it.
The premise showed promise but the execution fell flat. What did Jason see in Tessa? And does anyone else think it odd that Tessa once had a vegan cupcake bakery (how trendy and niche!) but had no problem eating veal parmesan?
I really like this book. The only problem I had with it was Tessa. She got on my nerves. Jason is a plastic surgeon who lives next door. Jason and Tessa have great chemistry. Perfect ending to the book a HEA.
I'm a fan of Aubrey Wright. I'm sorry but this book did not do it for me. He was a rude aggorant jerk. She was a whiney immature brat. The writing was great, don't get me wrong. But nope. Not for me.
This is a quick read, but it was only okay for me. I didn't care for either Jason or Tessa because they were a bit flaky and seemed a bit bipolar. Jason didn't communicate at all what he was feeling and would just randomly blurt out really big things that no one saw coming. Tessa was put down by her mother for her whole life, so she was always expecting bad news and for people to judge her.
Between the two of them, their relationship started off weird and continued to be a rollercoaster of non-communication and was pretty much just sexual for the most part.
I'm glad I got this for free from BookFunnel. I may or may not try another novel by this author, as this is my first one I've read of hers.
