Another great entry in this series. We see a little bit more of the adventurer's guild and the delve into the Arthos dungeon finally takes place.

Tao Wong continues to deliver significantly different and definitely entertaining stories in each of his series.

Fun and exciting with a few reader speed bumps...

Overall I enjoy the story. And it is told in third person omniscient past tense. I say the letter because it took two books for me to figure out that he had switched to past tense in book 3. I can see where he's taking time off from the series and came back and not quite read what he wrote before. There he is clear inaccuracies, but there's a few stylistic choices he's made here that feels like a change of format to an extent. That is to say the character stats that was never fully explained and still has not been in terms of how the character sees them are now referred to "character sheets" as well as at one point the main protagonist Daniel is looking at his "Mana bar. " It did pull me out because as the fifth book of the series it is long past time to introduce new features. I believe it happened in the previous book and this book also has the new features of the times giving a health bar and status of an enemy. In fact it felt like the author wanted to push the RPG aspect of lit RPG a little bit more unfortunately it just felt off balanced. The author is a very good writer and I have seen his other work the Thousand Li series. That work is more of hey martial arts collivation novel series that I highly enjoyed even better than this one I believe but this is still very good.

I do believe Wong is a great author and I do wish he would have reread his own books in the lead up of writing this. truthfully though I suspect he is always working a bit on all of his projects so that may result in some of the change in stories telling style and formats within the story itself. Reading a story that is a mixture of literary and role-playing games I do wish it would have stayed true to itself a bit more in this book. There are certain things again that the author has forgotten he has given to the character most notably certain magic ring the character earned at the end of the first book which was mentioned in the second book a few times but has never been seen again. The ring itself is particularly impressive.

The story is full of action and some character development for some side characters that were interesting and made the story itself feel stronger. I enjoyed it and can see this being successful series even though it's some shorter stories for years to come. The one thing I wish the author would have done was either go back and format everything stylistically or have reread his books enough to know sort of what he's written in how he wrote it before. I do enjoy the breakaway from presidents that was in the first two books but I feel like the newer aspects he's added to book five while interesting feels wonky when they were not present in the previous books.

nonetheless I would recommend this book for anyone young adult and above it is not a children's book or book series despite it having no curse words. There are some more adult situations that have occurred a few times that I do not see as children appropriate.

Literally average in every sense of the word

I don’t want to come down harsh on the books in the series but I have to say something. Everything about the world the characters those are great here. Those are great in the series actually. What’s the hangup for me is there’s a great phrase in this book in particular risk and reward. The more in Adventura risks the bigger the reward that’s the idea. So we have been following these adventures for several books now I don’t see the growth I want to see in my characters. I’m not talking about character growth and personality I’m actually talking about statistical growth in ability. The main character in this book went through several bottles for weeks and to be honest I only grew one or two levels. No son will argue that’s because of his gift that’s fine I can understand that but throughout the entire series I don’t see any of the characters grow at a reasonable rate. It literally seems like they are always fighting tooth and nail to win. I don’t see them acquire any skill any ability in the item that helps make them noticeable among everyone else. To be honest they seem just average. I think that’s the issue here it’s just average characters going about an average day. Don’t get me wrong if that’s your thing then you would like this series but that’s what I’m getting here just average growth average progression nothing that makes me go oh wow look what he can do now look what she can do now.

Typically when you read a series like this you want to read about your character becoming something more than everyone else or growing at a rapid pace even if it’s a coming-of-age novel do you want to read about them growing into their skills in their powers and becoming more. I don’t get that here this is literally reading about an adventure going to work every day it’s becoming a doll I’m going to buy the next book in the series I hope the author picks up the pacing.

Meh

Would have liked more gaming elements in this one. It's already a fairly short series and with so few actual game elements in this one it was a little disappointing. Hope the next one is l9nger, has more gaming elements and maybe a bit more character skill development. I mean... this whole book did only see one level up afterall

Still really awesome!

Well Tao has written another fantastic book in the Adventurers series. With Rob and Tula added to their group for the Artos. DUNGEON. Daniel, Asin, and Ormrak. Were able to tackle a much tougher dungeon. One that was a riot to read. REALLY TRY THIS SERIES OUT!

Some of the same with some surprises

Tao Wing’s Adventures on Brad since book 2 have been very similar. This Dungeon dive is much riskier for the heroes and with some surprises thrown in. I have enjoyed this series, this one is the best since book 1. I can’t imagine how much more punishment the heroes can take, but back into the dungeons they must go.

To short not enough substance

This is a short read along with their being not much of substance except for lightly introducing two new characters anyway I don't think this was worth the price think carefully before buying.

Great book

Stellar work once again from Tao Wong! Lots of action and dungeon delving. Not as much leveling as the previous ones, but more twists and turns. Looking forward to the next one!

Great read

Another exciting adventure that cracks along at a good pace with plenty of action and enemies to defeat. The MCs are continuing to grow and are still interesting. I look forward to the next one 😁

Really abrupt end ... again, or so it feels like to me. We find out the other groups are facing trouble with the special dungeon as a cliffhanger, but that’s something I’d think belongs in this book. It’s too short and insubstantial. Characterization and world building are lackluster.

The way how story plot is written with no explanation on how the world is working, what the meaning of everything and so on gets annoying. All we listen is how main characters are moving true the dungeons and killing monsters. What the meaning of that story?

Loss and gain

The battling has, in my opinion, exceeded the team's abilities. New alliances are made but loss of freedom and privacy looms.
If you like lots of battling, injuries, and not so much loot, you may find this to be your cuppa tea.

Couldn’t put it down!

I really enjoyed this book and the rest of the books in the series. If only they were longer, I feel like I just get started and then I’m at the end. Great reads
