I’ve been lucky. Years ago, I wanted to live on a farm, and my husband said “Let’s do it.” When personal computers were introduced, I wanted to know about them and have one, and lucky me, the school where I taught offered a course in Basic. When we bought our first computer, I discovered the writer’s best friend--word processing. (Before that, I could not write without crossing out most of a typewritten or handwritten page, and progress seemed impossible.) When I wanted to shift from teaching to writing, the first Macintosh computers came out, and I was lucky enough to offer, along with technical and business writing, the first “desktop publishing” in my county. And when finally I had the leisure to give a lot of time to a novel, my husband didn’t merely tolerate my commitment, he encouraged it.

Love These Books!

I'm not getting anything done!
I just want to keep reading. I am so involved in this Mountain Women Series. These stories are so well written. I feel like I'm living right there in Winkler with my new friends. I have four to go to finish the series. I'll be sad when it ends. I'm looking forward to a smashing conclusion.

Dessie and Tom

She brought Dessie and Tom back! Freddie saved Hettie from a fire at Wanda and Wills house. The fire set by the older boys smoking. Glory and Randolph were finally married. Glory has her own sewing factory. May Rose is slowing down or so she says she is. Luzanna moved off with her husband and family.

Hearts and Souls

I'm disappointed. I so wanted a Book 10. So many unanswered questions, like Glory's baby's gender, did Virgie finally find love, what happened to Theodore? I tried reading the fast forward to 2013 book, but I missed the family and friendship familiarity.

Not often do I 5* a book or series but this series was great. I enjoyed the time period, the characters. It was not smutty or violent. Love the characters. I'm on to book 10 now, Winkler 2013. I miss May Rose!!

I Can't Stop

The more I read the more I enjoy these stories. It's amazing how the characters grow from children to grown. Now I'm ready to see what problems bossy Mr Morrison will bring. I know it's coming‼️
