Her Honorable Hero

Can One Day Change Your Life?

Three years ago on a train, Navy SEAL, Griffin Porter and Miranda Slade’s lives were changed forever. As the Amtrak sped past the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Ocean a thunderous crash left their rail car dangling over the edge of a cliff. It would take more than one SEAL Team to rescue the passengers, it would take a miracle.

Many events stemmed from that horrific day. Ghosts from Miranda's past rear their ugly heads and demand she betray her country. After years of secrets, Miranda is in dire need of help. Will her husband Griff and the Black Dawn SEAL team be able to stop this evil plot in time?

Protecting Hope was just the tip of the iceberg...

(This book has doubled in size and been re-written without Susan Stoker’s characters since finding its place amongst the Black Dawn series.)

Triumphant edge-of-your-seat action romance!

This book is simply amazing. If you've read "Protecting Hope" then you already know the story of what brought Griff and Miranda together, but you don't know the whole story yet. If you haven't read "Protecting Hope," don't worry - you don't need to have read it first. All the details of that book are included as flashbacks sandwiched in between the current story, and Wow! what a story it is!

Griff and Miranda still have residual trauma from the train wreck of three years ago, and this fast-paced story takes us through their cathartic confessional that lays everything bare - their hearts, their souls, and their trust in each other. Added to that is a new, current threat from a source that Miranda thought was long buried, and the action is almost non-stop as the past comes rushing headlong toward their HEA.

If you've been following this author's SEAL team stories, you don't want to miss this one. We see both Midnight Delta and Black Dawn team members in action, and get a deeper understanding of the beautiful love story between Griff and Miranda. I'm absolutely addicted to this series, and highly recommend this installment. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I absolutely loved this book. The first half of it felt like a book within a book.

This book was previously in Susan Stokers Kindle World, Mrs. O'Leary got the rights back once Kindle worlds were no longer and she supersized it!

What I mean about the book within the book is the original story get semi retold by the two main characters but this time it is about their thoughts and feelings. They were explaining how they felt during certain times from the original book. If you have ever wanted to know what the other character was thinking during a high emotional time, this book clues you in. The original book was really good but this once knocks it out of the park because it felt even more emotional than the first. To listen to someone explain to their loved one what they were feeling was tough to read and even more so to see the other hurting because of it. It was very therapeutic though.

The second half of the book was new and it was intense. I liked the characters of Miranda and Griff and seeing what they had to go though at the end was nail biting and intense! The love and care they have for each other leaps off the page.

Once again Caitlyn O’Leary delivered! Her Honorable Hero is Griff and Miranda’s story. They meet on a commuter train. Griff is a Navy SEAL, taking the train because he’s been helping his mother with his father’s care. Miranda is an analyst with top clearance working on a project for the government. Over time, they had gotten to know one another. Griff’s Dad has started to turn the corner in his illness, and Griff felt free to finally ask Miranda for a date. On that day, their commuter train was in a horrific crash. Many people were killed. Miranda and Griff survived, with the help of Griff’s fellow team members, and other SEAL teams, but Miranda had life threatening injuries. We learn Griff and Miranda’s story in flashbacks. I loved the way their story was told. Many things are learned, and secrets are revealed in a way that makes for a fascinating story. I highly recommend this book.

Miranda and Griff along with their little one Livvie are in for an action packed time with this new installment of the Black Dawn Series. Still ravaged by the terrors of three years ago, Miranda is about to face even more of her past evils.
This Series is incredible, the characters are captivating and the storyline’s intriguing.
I could not put this down. Author Caitlyn O’Leary has such a way of submerging a reader into her realm that it is as if watching it on a huge screen!
Absolutely wonderful read, I recommend this to all lovers of SEALS, Alpha Males and HEA’s!

Her Honorable Hero is book 7 in the Black Dawn series by Caitlyn O’Leary, about a day that can change your life...

This book is about a couple we met in previous books, now married Griff and Miranda Porter still continue to have flashbacks to the fateful day three years ago that changed their lives but brought them together into a wonderful marriage an beautiful baby girl...but Miranda’s demons still rears it’s ugly head and while she knows she needs help she’s afraid she can’t be helped...

This story is so much more than the original. The story from Protecting Hope is retold as flashbacks in Her Honorable Hero. The author delves more into the emotions and the feelings of Miranda and Griff experience during the train crash and afterwards. Some of it really brings your emotions to the surface.

In addition, Miranda has to face someone from her past who brings danger to her and her daughter. It is definitely a wild adventure.

Extremely well developed novella about a train crash and the subsequent rescue effort. These SEAL teams are certainly well organized. This book has some on the edge of your seat moments and keeps you wanting more. Griffin deserves a happily ever after moment. I really enjoyed this book.

Oh my goodness this is one of the best action romances I have read in a while! Caitlyn O'Leary takes you on a roller coaster ride of Sweet, Tender Romance with a kick of adrenaline! A well developed read that has you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole story. I loved how within moments of picking it up you are drawn into the storyline and just can't put it down. The intense hero's and heroine's here are incredible. The tightness of the teams are realistic and make me miss my time in San Diego and Coronado growing up. Thank you to the Author for a Great Read! Well done!

Protecting Hope was just the tip of the iceberg... Such a true statement.

Well I'd already read Protecting Hope, which was published in Kindle World in Susan Stoker’s World, but Caitlyn has re written and developed the book from those events the horrific train crash. 3 years later and the Ghosts from Miranda's past rear their ugly heads and demand she betray her country. But I knew that her husband Griff and the Black Dawn SEAL team wouldn't let anything bad happen to Miranda. The story moves back and forth from the initial train wreck to the present time, 3 years later and Griff and Miranda are parents to a little girl who reminds me of my granddaughter. The story lets the reader see that even though it looks roay on the surface, both of them still haven't truly opened up about the accident. As we peel back the layers that Miranda hides her fears behind, we learn how her past is trying to ruin her perfect life.
I loved the book, its kept me turning pages whenever I could grab a spare minute to read. There's suspense, action and romance and of course a HEA. someone gets what he deserves, and we get to catch up with a few other characters too.
The book switches from past to future well, i didn't feel like what i was reading was boring because I'd already read it, more like I learned much much more about the situation and how it affected the survivors of the train wreck.
Well written Ms O'Leary, can't wait to read the next book.

Talk about an adventure times two! Her Honorable Hero packed a heavy punch.

I adored getting to see Griff and Miranda married and with a baby, and living life. And finally ready to face their past together. I loved getting to experience how they met and how they survived the train wreck. Talk about intense and crazy scary. The way their "how I met you and feel in love" story was told was pretty cool mixing in present day interactions with looking back in time memories.

And then, once we process all that, there's a new threat looming that makes you hurt and ache and feel all anxious living and breathing it all out along side them.

I adore how Griff treated Miranda and showed his love and devotion to her, through darkness and light. I loved his heart and the depths of emotions he had for his family. I loved Miranda's strength and passion and intensity. She knew herself and knew she could take care of herself, but learned that it was okay to depend on and lean more on her husband.

The trouble they faced at the end totally left me on edge and I couldn't stop till I reached the end.

Yet again, I find myself enthralled in an amazing story and placed it on my favorites shelf next to many other Black Dawn books. If you love depth and excitement and bonds of friendship and family mixed in with your military romantic suspense, this book–no, this whole series–is one to escape into.

I really enjoyed this expanded version of Miranda and Griffin's story. Their story was originally part of kindle worlds so it was short and sweet but Ms. O'Leary does an excellent job of pulling it out of that world and adding to the story. I usually don't care for flashbacks but Ms. O'Leary handles them in such a way as they do not take me out of the here and now of Miranda and Griffin's love.
Miranda is holding onto secrets and Griffin knows it. But can he convince her that he will always be there for her and their daughter? I love that Ms. O'Leary showed us that marriage isn't easy and love doesn't resolve all issues. Miranda hasn't let go oh her need to handle everything herself. She is determined to handle her past even as it begins to affect her relationship with Griffin. I love that even as she tries to divert her seal's attention he isn't going to let her hide. e is willing to wait her out even as it hurts his soul. I love that Miranda has a bit more to learn about herself and her relationship with Griffin. And Griffin has to show a piece of himself that he also has hidden from his wife. But when they peel back their secrets will their marriage survive?
This story by Ms. O'Leary is well written and enjoyable. She gives us unexpected twists and turns. I loved returning to this world and seeing Miranda and Griffin grow as individuals and as a couple.

I love Caitlyn's work and this book was no exception We finally get an in depth look at the love of Griff and Miranda (we got a preview of how they met in Protecting Hope) but now we get the full story and the fleshing out of the railway accident that cemented their love

Griff had to catch the train to base when his car was been serviced at the moment he is going to his families home every weekend because his father is fighting cancer on the train he is attracted to a smartly dressed businesswoman ( he is always attracted to a pencil skirt) consequently for the next 8 weeks he catches the train even though he doesn't need to and finally after getting closer to Miranda he s going to ask her out on a date. Everything is going well and she accepts until sabotage has the train hanging of the cliff face and he must save the woman he is falling in love with. the thing that makes this story so special is that we actually get to see how that accident is affecting them both 3 years later. They are now married and have a daughter and as they both bare their souls about their feeling and emotions on that fateful day you are drawn in emotionally Been a Caitlyn O'Leary Black dawn book there is also danger and suspense and once again Griff his team and their friends will have to save Miranda. I can't recommend this book hghly enough it is a gut churner but in all the right ways.

As your eyes begin to blur, and the tears track down your face, you suddenly realise that your heart and soul will be stripped bare by the intensity and emotion that is written on these pages.

This was my revelation after a mere few chapters of this latest edition to Caitlyn O’Leary’s Black Dawn series, and I am totally sincere when I say I have never cried so early on in a book or experienced the heartfelt emotion that I underwent during this story’s beginning.

Miranda and Griff are an extraordinary couple that compliment each other perfectly. Griff as an Alpha Navy SEAL is all super protective in defending what’s his, but Miranda is no shrinking violet; as a strong, independent businesswoman, she commands respect and takes no prisoners when things fail to meet her expectations.

Their initial meeting and the events that followed are emotional and tragic, but the unspoken and blossoming attraction of their early interactions will flourish and develop into a lifelong connection, and soul searing love that is sturdy as steel and soft as a new born babe. This is foundation that will help them navigate the unexpected and dangerous foe that secretly taunts Miranda, while waiting in the shadows for the right time to strike.

Her Honourable Hero is another worthy story in this wonderful and captivating series and definitely not one to miss.

Miranda had a high-pressure job and a hot, sexy SEAL and they had an adorable little girl. Three years earlier they shared a horrific experience that brought their budding relationship into full bloom. Griff had fallen from day one, Miranda took a little longer.

After that experience, they thought it was the worst that would ever happen to them. Unfortunately...

Most romances start with day one and run through their relationship and falling in love, ending with the HEA. You'll find this one a little different. Actually, a lot different. Griff and Miranda are both strong, brave heroes. They both work in government work with secret projects and duties. Their love is deep, steamy, and not easy with two super strong personalities. The emotional draw from the reader is amazing. I could not put this down from page one to that awful THE END. I wanted it to go on and on.

We get to see the team at work but not on an assigned mission. This one is personal. When one of their teammates or their loved ones is in danger these exceptional men get together to save them. Once again I have to say this is one of the best books I've read. Thanks, Ms. O'leary.

I am a total sucker for these stories specially when characters I have gotten to know from other books make a show in other books.
Navy SEAL Griffin Porter has for the last several months flirting with lovely Miranda Slade for the past two months as they have commuted on the same Amtrak train. She is smart funny caring and he will soon find out how brave she is.
Wolf Steel and his wife Ice get on board the train as it moves along the beaches of the Pacific Ocean on their way to San Diego. A thunderous crash leaves their rail car hanging over a cliff.
The thing is so totally messed up, the rail car the woman and children are in is the one hanging precociously over the cliff, any wrong move will send it sliding down to the beach.
Regular emergency vehicles will have a hard time reaching them, will the Navy Seals and the Midnight Delta team make in time to rescue them or will they fall to their deaths. Read the story is fantastic, well writen and characters are super fantastic.

This expanded version of Protecting Hope was downright AMAZEBALLS! More emotional, touching, sweet and heart wrenching, this newer version was sensational!

This story no longer has Susan Stoker's heroes but I can't say I was disappointed with it. Not because I didn't adore the first version, but the second version had SOOOO MUCH more to give. Us readers get a past and present view of Griff and Miranda and I FREAKING TREASURED THAT. We get a clearer view of how these two met and what went down when the train wrecked. We get both Griff and Miranda's inner thoughts and feelings and it was eye-opening and had me teary eyed. And after going through the events of that, Miss O'Leary threw in a curve-ball that just kept me sitting on edge and eagerly flipping those pages. I haven't felt this invigorated in a long time and I am so happy I got that with Her Honorable Hero! Its a worthy read and one I can't wait to indulge in AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Her Honorable Hero gets a HEART-CLENCHING FIVE SOARING STARS!

This was previously Protecting Hope but had been majorly updated and expanded.

I'm not usually a fan of books which flick from one time period to another but this was done in such a clever way that I actually managed to not get lost LOL!

We see Mirance and Griff in the current day and how they are managing their careers with parenthood, deployments, time constraints and of course the threats they come to face. This is interspersed with glimpses back to how Miranda and Griff met (talk about a big guy brought to his knees by a very capable, independent and damn organised woman!)

We get a more in-depth look inside their thought and feelings for each other, then and now. There were a few tears, a few smiles and, of course, more than a few obscenities as the threats towards Miranda and Livvy escalate.

Great romance, plenty of action and suspense. Great to see all my fave Black DawnMidnight Delta crew peppered throughout. I cannot wait for Billy to get his own book - that boy is going to break hearts!!!

as others have said, this book is an expanded version of another, earlier book. I read the first and loved it. This version/expansion is like visiting an old friend to find out what’s going on in their lives now. It’s also a stand alone version, as the main points of the original are covered by flashbacks which allows new readers to enjoy the story w/out having read the first book.

what stands out most to me is the sense of family. Miranda, Griff and their daughter Livvie are the center, but around them are the larger family of the men & women in the Black Dawn team series, and even the people from Ms. O’Leary’s other SEAL series, Midnight Delta. They’re what we all think of/hope for when we think ‘family’ - protection, companionship, support.

I love Ms. O’Leary’s books in general, her combination of romance, suspense and some humor makes them a go-to book for when I have time to read. Add in plotlines that somehow remains fresh even as the number of them in a series increases and you have an author that remains one of my favourites.

What a read!!
You are totally involved reading the first page. Supporting Griff in his claiming of Miranda Slade, and in tears with the train derailment and the rescue of Hope.
What an explosive couple, an alpha SEAL and a type-A personality Executive Project Manager for TAID in San Diego.
You get to meet the couple as they tell the story of how they met, fell in love and the rescue of the little one Hope, when their train derailed. It did not stop there either. Due to the project Miranda was working on at TAID, it made her a target by outside forces. Griff and the men of Black Dawn come to the rescue. Caitlyn O’Leary has continued with the Black Dawn Series with the most interesting plans that are carried out to save Miranda and their daughter. You will not want to put this down for you are drawn into the excitement of the chase.
I received an advance copy of this and recommend it to one and all.

Love and Memories

Her Honorable Hero, is Griff and Miranda 's story and once started be sure to have Kleenex ready. Caitlyn brings you to see how Griff and Miranda meet, how a tragic accident happens and then love, memories and that accident being them to the present to help clarify the love and trust between a couple.
Miranda has a past that comes into play that causes stress and worry, brings and memories to the forefront and makes it clear that Miranda needs to come clean to Griff.
Caitlyn 's style of writing has you turning pages to see how the characters react to each situation she has to gripping the book one minute then has you grabbing a tissue and then by the end you're cheering.
Caitlyn 's Black Dawn and Midnight Delta series are ones that you don't want to miss reading and rereading. Each are filled with wonderful characters, situations that only hero's can fix...💕 Now waiting patiently for the next Seal💕

Having read lots of Caitlyn’s books before, including Protecting Hope which is the original telling of some of this story I jumped at the chance to read this.
Griff and Miranda’s relationship developed in Protecting Hope and this is 3 years later. The characters have to go back and retell their parts of the previous story in order to work through their feelings and deal with their mistrust and uncertainty. It’s very cleverly done and still has you on the edge of your seat!
We then have an added threat thrown in to put Miranda and their daugher Livvie at risk and we have to wait to see if her plus Griff and the Black Dawn team can save the day!
The book has passion, angst, tender moments, tension and scary parts, cute kids and hot males, everything you could ask for really!
I was offered the chance to read this book and happily leave a review for it. I’d highly recommend this entire series along with the Midnight Delta ones too!

The Past Returns

Griffin and Miranda's story was very good. I really enjoyed the plot. Miranda is really a ball-buster. She is very strong and independent. Griff is hot and great husband material. The only reason I did not give it 5 Stars was because of the going back and forth in years. It took a little while to get in sync. Also, there were a few grammatical errors.

In this story, we learn how Miranda and Griff met and what they had to deal with that made their love much stronger. Though, Miranda is harboring a big secret, one that is becoming dangerous. I loved that several of the previous characters and some secondary characters were also in this story. I wish the story had been a little longer so we could meet Giana and I wanted to see Miranda pregnant again and Griffover protective with the new baby on the way. I hope the next book in this series comes out soon.

If you have read any of the other books you have heard mention that Miranda and Griff met on a train and things took off after the train wreck. Now you get the whole story of the train wreck.
Miranda and Griff are perfect for each other. Her Type A personality will drive him insane and his Alpha protectiveness will drive her insane. They work well together but they are both keeping secrets from the train accident. How they finally bring them to light three years later was awesome. The way they talked about it and how they were feeling at the time. But Miranda is still keeping a secret from her past and thinks she can handle it on her own until she can't. Then she finally tells Griff and he goes all alpha-protective with her. Will she be able to keep their daughter and herself alive until Griff and the team can get to them? Will Griff and the team be able to get there in time before Miranda and Livvie get hurt?

Super Touching and Emotional!!

Griff met Miranda riding a train when his truck was in for repairs…. For weeks afterward he continued to ride the train in an effort to get to know her. During that time there was a very serious train derailment. This was all three years ago, and while they are married and have a young child – they are still impacted by those events.

As a type of therapy Griff asks Miranda to not just recount events as she remembers them, but the emotions attached to them. Miranda requires Griff return the favor. “I love you, even if you are irrational. Tonight’s our night for truth-telling. The good, the bad and the ugly”

Brilliant character and event reveals. We know these two have a happily ever after, but will the nightmares end??

I love this author and this series but this book really failed in my opinion. First I seriously don't like the back and forth between past and present. I spent the first few chapters trying to remember if I read this book because it started out like I knew the story. Second I need to be invested in the characters and it is hard to be invested when you just 'met' them and like in the first 10 pages they are having sex no way can I really enjoy the writing when the whole time I am like who are these people? And then the book spent all this time invested in this past story and halfway through the book it switch totally to present and had nothing to do with the first half of the story. Supposedly the train was targeted but nothing came of it. No mention of catching the bad guys. Uggg so many things wrong with this book.

Her Honorable Hero

OMG! This story will give you a roller coaster of emotions throughout the book. We are given the continued story of Griff and Miranda - 3 years after the train accident. They are married with a daughter. Miranda was still keeping secrets from Griff and he was getting frustrated. These two relive the accident thru their accounts of the accident and what they were feeling. Now her estranged father makes another appearance and, of course, he is up to no good. The Seals came to rescue once again when Miranda was being held hostage. After the bad guys were taken out, Griff had deja vu again when Miranda was in the hospital. I am happy that these two can continue on with their happily ever after, without her father interfering. FANTASTIC job Caitlyn! I would recommend this book.

I read Protecting Hope which was a Kindle world book and I love the way Caitlyn has totally revised it into this book.

The original story becomes flashbacks as all the players work their way through the lingering emotions that plague them even though it's three years in the past.

The memories are triggered at a party where Hope reads a story she's written. Oh the tears.

Once home Griff and Miranda realize they haven't really moved forward, and Miranda, well she's still keeping secrets from him.

Even with the problems that surface about the train crash, there is more going on now that Miranda needs to tell Griff.

Plenty of suspense combined with the emotional retelling of the crash make this book a page turning read.

There's also plenty of heat in this story as their love for each other and their daughter just shines through.
