When Naval officer Troy Weston loses his hands in a training accident, the doctors present him with a unique offer: robotic replacement hands with added strength and durability. He'll be a new man with a new life, far more capable than he ever was before. He accepts, and during his recovery he returns to Lake Superior to pilot his sailboat on bays he's know since childhood.
During a fierce and wild thunderstorm, Troy and his craft are sent through a portal and into an unknown world. When the rain settles and the winds lift, he finds himself on a foreign coastline surrounded by Greek architecture.
Stunned and wounded, he finds another survivor adrift on her wreck--a woman of rare beauty, armed with a sword, two guns, and an iron will.
Pulling her aboard his boat, she will utter a sentence that will change Troy's life forever.
"I am Helen, and you will take me to the war."
Experience this strange tale of alternate universes, magic, and mythology--a combination unlike any before.
Warning: this book contains adult situations, foul language, and a seriously good time.
Daniel Pierce lives in Wyoming with his wife Marissa and their two dogs. After fourteen years as an engineer, Daniel decided it was finally time to write and release his first novel.
As a lifelong fan of scifi and fantasy, he wants nothing more than to share his passion.
Could not finish this book as I didn't like it. The mix of technology and ancient empire didn't work for me, having a BC Egyptian built android that is indistinguishable from a human that has no power source that thinks its turning human (WTF?). MC's robotic hands also don't need a power source or require maintenance, but feels moisture? The Android is a fierce and deadly warrior one chapter, and a meek damsel in distress the next.... The MC cares about the androids feelings so wont get physically intimate with her, but without knowing her name he has sex with a girl he just rescued.... I had to put the book down, my ability to suspend belief and like the characters was lost in Chapter 20, I have other books to read. I have liked most of Daniels books but this series will remain unread by me, write more Future Reborn please, not this rubbish.
This one was a fast read and really fun to read. Troy is a nice guy for an ex-marine lol... He meets Helene of Troy, or a robot version of her and fall in love, defend Troy and I think to piss off people who wanted it to fall but let's read about this in the next book! Helene was so badass! In fact, she could have been the MC herself!
Absolutely awesome. A very easy book to read that's enjoyable with characters you will come to love. You've got so much action with tons of butt-kicking, not much for dull moments. You've got your love between characters and respect between people from different areas.
It's very interesting and very easy to read. You can't go wrong.
So here we have another MC that is clueless fool that gets lead around by his johnson. You pull this Fembot out of the water and she seems to hate the Greeks, that's it? So clueless MC trusts random Fembot and he goes on a murder rampage against a nation because a Fembot just hates Greeks. He has no facts to back ANYTHING up by the Fembot.
The pacing is slow, the language is awkward, and it all feels forced - like the author didn't actually want to write it. The proofreading is above average for the genre.
The story was pretty good it felt like a mashup of genres. The MC is pretty good with a decent start to fleshing out the backstory. Helen is a interesting character as well with the potential to be extremely powerful in later book's. The other characters in the book are ok but the ones I found the most interesting where well written.
A very enjoyable, and well done story. I greatly enjoyed this version of events surrounding the major tales and legends surrounding the Mediterranean area in its glory day. Plot is well thought out and character development is detailed and paced well. Basically the usual for Daniel Pierce.
So weird. MC wondering what humans taste like as if it were the kind of thing everyone thinks about. Wonders if the sexy robot girl has a blender hidden in her mouth, but ready to take his chances like any "red-blooded male". Also he's the kind of hopeless romantic who about 2 seconds after the sex scene "wipes himself and goes to sleep"...
Features cannibal bromance : shaking hands with cannibals for 30 seconds straight while looking straight into their eyes (and some cannibals don't even have eyelids), cannibal hugging and so on.
I don't know if that's intentional but the more the plot advances the more this Troy character looks like a regular bad guy?

this almost seemed like a standalone novel but I'm hopeful there will be more stories to come especially since he didnt even figure out if he went back In time or sideways or something else so many unanswered questions to explore, I suspect many of them will revolve around the almost innocuously forgotten discovery... well theres hope at least :)
Troy receives prosthetic super hands after losing his in an accident. While sailing Lake Superior, he is transported to an alternate realm or time. He finds beautiful women, friends, and battles. I like the action, humor, and romance. The military tactics of the big battles is intriguing. I look forward to another book.
This was exactly as advertised, a great romp for fun and entertainment. Even though it was shorter than what I normally like, the author crammed a great deal into the story. MC was a little flip flop, but mostly an interesting character and read. Will look for next in series.
Interesting setup and interesting twists to history to create an alternate timeline. Lots of violence and gore. Sex, too. Both magic and technology. Well written, lots of quirks to the characters. Looking forward to the next book because there are lots of interesting questions to be answered.
A combination of today and yesterday, with all that entails. The bits of myth and magic are reasonable expectation of what really might have happen. Defiantly a interesting take on the travel to another dimension or world.
This author is just amazing. The world that he brings to life in this book is just incredible. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great book.
ah it was okay 2.5 to 3 stars I guess. I would do the next book but it is not a must. I could take it or leave it. I did get some enjoyment as I do like books for this type.
Fun read which incorporates both time and dimensional travel. While it is a stretch of reality, it is fun to rewrite history along a different time line.
I’ve started 5 of Daniel Pierce’s book series so far, trying two books in two of them & stopping at one each for the other three. Each Series having an interesting sounding blurb based on Sci-Fi/Fantasy plot lines that were potentially fascinating and in many ways equivalent to dozens if not hundreds of other books I’ve read & enjoyed. These books have earned an average rating of 1.1428 Stars, per book I’ve sampled from the books I’ve tried. To say it another way, I’m writing this in March 2024, and my notes say I read all of these books of his last year, yet I recall almost nothing from the time invested.
Interesting dialogue quotes in my notes? No. Philosophical pondering since Sci-Fi so often lends itself to metaphor & approaching modern problems from unique paradigms? Nope, none of that either. Harem romances or sex scenes to drool over? Nada!
Save yourself some time and AVOID THIS AUTHOR like the plague! It’s drivel-on-a-stick.
