Welcome to Seaside Oregon, where star sightings are as common as Malibu. It's Hollywood's biggest known secret, the place where rockstars and actors alike go to get away from it all, only now that filming has started on what's said to be the newest blockbuster hit, it's getting harder and harder to get some privacy.
All Dani wants to do is survive the summer on set as Lincoln Green's newest assistant. The only problem? She's a selective mute and the guy won't stop talking or flirting. Zane "Saint" Andrews is known for a lot of things, mainly his music and sexual appetites, when he stops in Seaside for a much-needed break, he latches onto Fallon, a girl he thinks could be his new muse. What happens when she finds out that the sexy superstar hasn't actually ever had sex? Ex-boyband member Will just got assigned to represent his ex-girlfriend and ex-love Angelica Greene. Babysitting an actress that high maintenance wasn't part of the plan but he's her only hope, and when they start to blur the line between love and hate, they realize that maybe the past can't just stay there, not when there's so much left to explore in the present.
The Seaside series is one of my favourite series so I was delighted to see that Rachel was penning a spin off series. I would also point out that Capture is a stand alone book with a HEA and you do not need to have read the original series to enjoy this book.
No spoilers from me - the synopsis provides a clear idea of what this story is all about. What I will say is that I really enjoyed this book. It had everything that I need to bring a smile to my face while reading; it was sweet, romantic and funny yet packed full of the emotional feels but most importantly it's a great story with fantastic characters - I can't imagine how anyone couldn't fail to fall in love with Dani and Lincoln.
I would happily recommend this book and look forward to more from this series.
Keep:
Keep is the second book in the Seaside Pictures series but can be read as a stand alone.
I just read this book start to finish and loved every second of it; it's a really sweet, feel good read.
I adored Zane and Fallon and they were absolutely perfect for each other. It was a breath of fresh air to read about a male lead with vulnerabilities and Zane won't fail to make you awe out loud and swoon all over the place. Fallon was also a sweetheart but I liked how she had her own quirks but still felt strong and soft all at the same time.
Keep was romantic and had some real emotional moments that brought a tear to me eye but it was still laced with humour throughout. All in all a really great read and I can't wait to add the PB to my collection.
Steal:
Steal was a wonderful second chances romance that while is noted as book 3 in the series can be comfortably read as a stand alone.
I loved this book and devoured it in one sitting. It was touching and emotional and broke my heart and had me in tears more than one once but of course it wouldn't be an RVD book without great splashes of light and humour to cut through the angst and drama. We have met Angelica in previous Seaside books and going into this book I had some set thoughts (not pleasant) about her but boy right from the get go, I really felt for her and was absolutely routing for her. RVD is always is very clever taking the unlikeable characters and turning everything you thought you knew and felt right on its head.
This was a lovely story of love, forgiveness and second chances and I would happily recommend this book!
I haven't read the Seaside books, but I'm SO GLAD I picked this one up! It's the beginning of a spinoff series, and it gets 10+++ stars from me! Dani & Linc have my favorite kind of story - attraction, friendship, no cheating, no relationship angst (other than the fact that she's 17 and he's 21 or 22 and the whole "minor" thing is an issue for 3 weeks til her birthday)(I mean, really ppl, THREE WEEKS, quit harping on her age!). The entire cast is amazingly written - I may dig into the original series at some point to go through their journeys. AND OH MY HECK! The crossover w/ Wes, Kiersten, Saylor & Gabe making an appearance? SPLENDID!! *bounce*
Despite some heavy subject matter, this is a light, extremely FUN read. I LOVE the humor of Dem & Zane - and Zane gets his story next, it would seem. I hope so, because I'm REALLY looking forward to his story!!! : ) I laughed out loud so many times, gigglesnorting a few times, even! And I teared up a couple times, too.
Dani & Linc are both funny & sweet & brave & I enjoyed this story from start to finish!!
🥰🥰🥰
Keep
Zane & Fallon were perfect, just perfect. I want a Zane of my own - funny, sure of himself but not, adorably hot... Fallon was his perfect match - shy but strong and with the wit to keep up w/ his shenanigans (SHENANIGANS!) even when she didn't think she was.
The story is beautiful, the writing on point, and there are several important messages woven in, but not in a preachy way. In the way where you learn them, not that you notice them, if that makes sense! I loved this story & it's a definite re-read.
Also, this story made me crave marshmallows.
: )
Steal
- Not reading yet. As much as I'm intrigued by the glimpse of Will & Angelica at the end of Keep, I think their story is going to be a little more angsty than I'm ready for at the moment.
The Seaside Pictures Boxed Set 1-3 was a great read by Rachel Van Dyken. This set consists of; Capture, Keep, Steal. Capture (Seaside Pictures #1) was a great read by Rachel Van Dyken. Dani doesn’t live a normal life. at seventeen she lost her ability to speak from trauma. Her sister is married to a big name in Hollywood and her best friends are a rockstar duo. Hollywood’s newest heartthrob Lincoln Greene hires her as his assistant for the summer and things change for her. Keep (Seaside Pictures #2) was a great read by Rachel Van Dyken. Zane “Saint” Andrews is a rock god. People would never guest that he’s still a virgin. He knows that he has to give the people what they want. Everything changes when nerdy Fallon literally falls at his feet. Steal (Seaside Pictures #3) was a great read by Rachel Van Dyken. Angelica and Will hate each other and even Seaside, Oregon isn’t big enough for both of them. His plan was to stay away and make sure she gets to set on time. He didn’t expect to be faced with their past in front of an audience. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
The reason i couldn’t stop reading any series from Rachel Van Dyken is because of the beautiful storylines... raw, heart wrenching, pure with a hint of good natured humor. I like the banter among friends and how the story showcase the other side of celebrity which we often forget... they are like us, people with feelings and makes mistakes.
I have read other books by Rachel and love her writing! I always feel like I'm right there with the characters experiencing what they're experiencing. This collection of books was no different. I do feel like there must be some stories before this that have some of the characters in them with their stories, however you dont need to read them before you read these. I will be looking for them though. Thanks for another great read!!
All the feels from comedy to angst, happiness to anger these books made you feel them all. Each book can be read as a stand-alone within the series. I would recommend them to others
These 3 books are awesome. There's so much heart in Rachel's writing & you can feel it. Her characters are so well developed that you feel their pain when they do & you feel joy & love when they do. Love this series!!!
Great character development. Very emotional but tempered with a bit of humor here and there. Even though we meet others in the "family" , I now want to go back and read their stories.
Five stars doesn’t feel like enough for these books! I completely devoured them, and I want more. I can’t wait to dive into the next book!! If you’re a Rachel Van Dyken fan, you don’t need a recommendation...just buy the dang book!! You won’t be disappointed!
I would have given this series a 4 or 5 star rating, but the number of sentence structure errors and spelling errors took away from the flow of the stories.
