It was easy to read and there is still a lot of information in this book what is the easiest way of travel.
What is possible and what can you see. How many islands can you do and the hours of the musea.

As usual for Yeywitness, it's a picturesque book providing a vast info of out-from-fairytale county living five hundred years in peace.
Personally, I somehow omitted a segment of the most western point of Europe which is a beautiful unforgettable panoramic place itself.

An interesting review of Portuguese history and geography as well as plenty of information for actual travellers. The book is filled with classic DK diagrams describing things like traditional building materials, layouts of buildings, maps and other guides. It is an easy read and I learned a lot from it. It made me want to visit the Azores in particular.

Interesting factoid: the highest point in Portugal is a volcanic peak in the Azores, hundreds of miles from the mainland. I found that interesting because for Spain too, the highest peak is hundreds of miles from the Spanish mainland on the Canary island of Tenerife (also a volcano).

This is a great intro guide to Portugal. The book is pretty compact with small font and lots of colorful images. The main con for me is trying to locate the maps within the book when it refers to them.

The table of contents:
Intro - History of Portugal
Lisbon
Central Portugal
Northern Portugal
Southern Portugal
Portugal's Islands
Traveller's Needs - Where to Stay
Survival Guide

Nieuwe editie, nieuwe vormgeving, óók in Nederlandse vertaling.

Full of awesome pictures and sort of 3-D maps. Maybe not as much information as Lonely Planet guides but it makes up for it with the great colorful views of the country.

Again a really good Vis-à-Vis travel guide. They live up to their high price. Lots of photos, maps and illustrations. The list of hotels and restaurants is also really good and up to date.
