Quite a lovely read. I started reading this but wasn't sure what to expect compared to the other two books I had read of Colleens. Bexley and Kai the main characters in this book are complete opposites of one another. Bex is a free spirit and Kai is a passionate man that brings them together. The storyline flows very smoothly with a few very emotional moments. It is a lovely story that pulls on your heart strings. Colleen indeed has a brilliant book once again and will definitely be a number one favourite of mine. Brilliant book, awesome writer, lovely lady.

What a beautiful love story, a little steamy, very steamy in parts. Bex was having her last night in Laguna when Kai walks into her life, how can someone take your heart in one night though? Kai was asking the same thing, he'd only gone to see his cousin not fall in love, yet he had, she'd got under his skin more than anyone had ever done before yet she was leaving the next day!
Bex has to go to New York to help her dying sister with her business and she can't change that even if she wanted to, she had to help her sister while she was still alive, she'd lost her parents and she was the only family she had left so she was going to spend as much time with her as she could and help with her business too.
Kai was a music teacher, he'd never felt this way before, what was it about her that drew him in, he wasn't sure but he'd fallen head over heals for her. He'd known from the start she was leaving the next day, he didn't do one night stands he kept telling himself, yet tonight he'd change the rules for her.
Bex kept going over in her mind if only I could change my plans and stay but she knew it was pointless she didn't know how much longer her sister had, she couldn't let her down the one time she was needed.
A beautiful love story about two hearts breaking as they had just found each other but the timing was wrong on every level. They knew that one day they would find each other again if it was meant to be.
So she left, he had hoped she'd change her mind but knew why she had to go.
I loved the way it was written and how it kept me hooked, I couldn't put it down and had a very late night reading it to the end. It was a true love story and you don't see what's coming next, I love the way you're kept hanging on to the very end.
I'd recommend it to anyone that likes a good old fashioned love story and doesn't mind it getting very steamy, I admit I was shocked at how graphic it was as its not what I'm use to reading, but it suites the story line so well. I loved the book and it's another author to add to me never ending list of great writers. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

This amazing novel is about a young women named Bexley who is only looking for fun on her last night in Laguna. Until she meets Kai, who sparks such an intense attraction it has Bexley questioning everything. This amazing novel is very well written with realistic characters. The writing is exceptional and the storyline flows through perfectly. This novel is sweet, funny, romantic, sad, steamy, sexy, and heartwrenching. I was captured and pulled in right from the start and wanted more when I finished. You won't want to miss out on this amazing novel as you will not be disapointed. Looking forward to reading more books about Bexley and Kai. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

Bexley is leaving for New York and before she goes she wants one splendid night – and gets it with Kai. There is an instant connection but will there be a happily ever after?

This story deals with some major life issues and says a lot in a novella length story. I enjoyed it but think it is probably more of a New Adult than Adult geared book.

Thank you to ebook discovery for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I had the privilege of winning this in a giveaway.

Falling in love at first sight, is a thing. However, falling in love with a person's soul when the connection has just been made is pure bliss, that's rare. This show's that even a roaming, strong, independent woman needs a place to call home. The heart of Kai's is just that place.

I enjoyed this read, yes it's quick bit you still get those heartfelt moments & even a few sexy times. Who doesn't love that mix?!

Last Night in Laguna was a perfect mix of heart and sass! I loved the character descriptions and the way Bexley, the heroine, transformed over the course of the story. Her sister's experience broke my heart, too. Wonderful novella.

A sweet romance about instant attraction, with delightful characters and humorous dialogue. Bexley lived up to the moniker of Gypsy given to her by her beloved father, bringing to light the care we have to take when labeling our children, as more often than not those names become the creed we live by. Bexley truly believed that she would never be able to settle down, not realising that she was living by a false set of self-imposed rules. I loved the immediate and fated attraction between Bexley and Kai and the longing they had for each other after they parted. A beautiful story with a twist in the tale. The bitter-sweet relationship with Vaughn also stirred me deeply. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily reviewed this book. This is my honest review.

Enjoyable, simple and straight-forward. It feels like the story ends too quickly even though it is not too short. However the author is able to generate great chemistry between the main characters.

Bexley Rue is moving to New York and is spending her last night with her best friends Madison and Annie and their spouses. When Kai Donovan comes along with them, Bexley knows she may allow herself one night of fun as she is instantly attracted to him.

Kai Donovan is the opposite of Bexley. Where Bexley is a gypsy at heart, Kai seeks to settle down in one place. Yet despite their differences Kai knows he wants more than just one night with Bexley and as the night goes on, he realizes just how much he has instantly fallen for her.

But Bexley needs to go to New York to be with her sister, Vaughn, and it is unknown if their love survive the different coasts. But when Vaughn opens up about their childhood will Bexley let Kai in and allow them to have a future together?

This was a great book and the power of love between siblings and that instant attraction of finding the one you love. I had a lot of respect for Bexley and everything she was doing with Vaughn and was sad that she didn't find out things about her childhood until it was almost too late for her. She was such a good person but very scared of getting attached and settling down. She really didn't want any more loss in her life and I can't blame her.

Kai was amazing and I felt bad for him, especially in New York. The amount of stuff he was willing to do for Bexley was incredible and she's super lucky to have had him.

I'm glad that Bexley was able to discover what her heart wanted and needed and was able to do the right thing!

Bexley is celebrating her final night in Laguna, CA, when she is joined by Kai, Josh’s cousin. Josh is married to one of Bexley’s closest friends. There is an instant attraction that is captured so perfectly by Ms. Albert. Their courtship is fast, but super-interesting. They actually spend some time getting to know each other and sharing experiences and adventures before hopping in bed with each other. They communicate in a meaningful way, instead of just flirting. These are some of the things that set this book apart from other books of this genre.

Bex is moving to New York to help take care of her sister, who has ALS. This disease is treated respectfully and honestly by this author, and both sisters face very real challenges because of it. There is an incredible twist toward the end, and that twist brings added depth and understanding to these characters. This author did a wonderful job with a challenging storyline. How often do readers actually believe that two protagonists can fall in love in one day? C. M. Albert actually succeeds in making this possibility believable and inevitable. She takes a near-insta-love storyline, and pulls the reader in so fully that there aren’t any doubts that these two protagonists will make it!

Bexley's moving across the country to help her sister, and this is her last night in Laguna. She meets Kai tonight, and there's instant connection for both of them. They have one night together to make a memory that neither of them will forget - and they do. They do their best to stay in contact while she immerses herself in a new life. Before her sister's health is too far gone, she confides family secrets to Bexley, hoping that she'll finally be able to open up her heart to Kai.

I just loved this book. Kai's the boyfriend we all want - doing things on the spur of the moment, supportive of any decision, wants to do the right thing, willing to uproot to make a family, completely forgiving. Bex is the young woman I'd like to be - not afraid to try something new, willing to admit her mistakes and shortcomings, willing to take a chance. I was reeled into the story from the first page, and read the book in one sitting. This is my first read from this author - looking forward to more of her books.

Part of the Laguna Beach Kindle World, Last Night in Laguna tells the story of a woman leaving Laguna Beach and celebrating her last night with her friends. I loved seeing Madison and Annie from Laguna Nights and Laguna Heights and it was much more than a token appearance - these characters played a major role in Bexley's story.

This story was well written and felt the emotions of the characters deeply. I really liked how Kai approached Bexley - knowing she could only commit to one night, but his commitment, unbeknownst to her, was for more. And he was patient to wait for her to be ready.

Bexley's struggles with her sister, what she believes is her own inner nature, and the circumstances life throws her way were realistic and heart-wrenching.

Despite being "novella" length, this is a complete story with well fleshed-out characters, flaws and all.

-I received a free copy from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review. It was an okay book. 3 stars.
-The 1st half of the book is about one night in Laguna with lots of explicit adult content between two people.
-Then one part of the other half is about how selfish the heroine is - but we already knew that from the first half...
-After that it's a jumble of ups and downs and you're not sure where you're going with all this, and again you have to deal with the heroine's selfishness.
-There's no closure to this book; there's no epilogue either. You're not sure how all this finished so you're left with unanswered questions.
-The book needs to be revised: each chapter has several pages where there is at least 2 words stuck together. For ex., you'd get something like "Sonomaand" or "andI"

This book made me laugh, made me smile, made me cry, and made me hope. I loved Kai and Bexley! They were just so real. The only thing I didn't like was with the editing. There were many places where there were two words without a space between them. It didn't interfere with understanding but did get annoying at times.

A chance encounter on Bexley's last night in Laguna leads her to question running from the tough stuff for the first time. However, her sister needs her in NYC so she leaves. The scenes with her sister brought tears to my eyes. The emotions were so vivid. Kai was smitten from the first meeting but doesn't want to scare Bexley off. How will they finally make it work? You'll have to see for yourself.

Last Night in Laguna is one of the ten Kindle Worlds Novellas based upon Kaira Rouda's original Laguna Beach series. It is a romantic story about a chance encounter that proves love really can happen at first sight.

Bexley Rue meets Kai Donovan the night before she is to leave Laguna Beach and move to New York to help Vaughn, her sick sister. There is an immediate attraction to each other that neither can deny. They decide to spend one "epic" night together and make the most of what little time they have left. The story that follows will have you questioning whether or not fate really does play a part in shaping our future.

I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys a quick romantic read that will leave you wishing this author would write a sequel.

Bexley is leaving Laguna Beach to help her sister in NYC. On her last night in town, she meets the guy of her dreams- Kai.

Ms. Albert shares the fun and sadness of finding true love at last. Bex never thought she'd find what her friends had but when she does, it's going to cost her to stay and it will cost her to go. The dilemma was real and seriously, I don't know which I would have chosen. I loved how we learned more about Bex through her interactions with Kai and her friends, as well as her family. Ms. Albert keeps us guessing right up until the Happily Ever After.

This is a read you won't be able to put down!

** [I receive a copy of this book from ebook Discovery in exchange for an honest opinion.] **

Fun, short quick read. I like Kai the character. He's the one who's the dream guy of every girl. Handsome and responsible. Not afraid of commitment type of guy. As for Bexley, shes really acting like a baby from the start until almost towards the end. The time when she finally grew up is when her sister showing her the "trump card". Hmmm..

Overall rating: 3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( I was hoping for more on the last chapter.)

There're some editing need to be done. Some words have no spacing between them.

Last Night in Laguna I received this book as a free download in return for a review, to be honest, this review is way overdue, but there was just something in the title or cover I just did not connect with and therefore I kept putting off reading it, which is not usual for me as I always try to be timely in reading and reviewing anything sent to me. But Wow when I got into the book I really liked it and I Couldn't put it down. The storyline was gripping and not predictable, and the author has a way of writing that brings the characters to life on the page. The end result was that I really liked this book, and it just proves you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Well worth the read.

Although this book was pretty predictable, I really enjoyed it! The story was very fast paced and I loved the instant connection that Kai and Bexley had. The characters felt so real and everything that they went through seemed to be events that every day people could relate to, and not just something out of an unlikely movie. I love that Bexley still followed through with her plans to move to nyc to help her sister out even after her perfect night with Kai. There were a few heartbreaking moments and one part that came as a complete shock, but overall I’d say that this was beautifully written and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

This was a fantastic new read from C.M. Albert. Bexley s a free spirit who heads to Laguna Beach during a cross-country trip. Kai is a sensible, responsible man who decides to finally let loose in Laguna Beach. When these two meet, the attraction is off the charts intense. When one night quickly turns into more, things become complicated and ghosts from the past to wreck havoc. Last Night in Laguna is filled with heartache, twists, passion, romance, and love. I really loved reading this story. This is a captivating, heartwarming story with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with.

Quick, fun beach read

I really liked this story. For one, anything that takes place at the beach is a hit with me. I can easily skip into beach mindset and get lost in the story. And that's exactly what happened here.

Bex has a "gypsy soul". She's never lived anywhere long but has found her place in Laguna. Except she's going to be leaving it all behind as she moves to New York to help her sister. Bex goes on a quest to do all her favorite things on her last night in Laguna and finds it may not be as easy to leave as she thought.

Q. How much can happen in one night? A. a lifetime

I have to say - What a read! CM Albert is a very versatile and creative writer. This sweet sexy Novella fits right in with the Laguna series and introduces 2 great characters that you cannot help but love. The characters are fun and easy to relate to and you just have to keep reading to know what happens in their story.

I cannot wait to see what other stories CM writes.

Enjoyable quick read. Love the characters, you instantly fall in love with them and want to know where the story will lead. Some fantastic page turning romantic scenes. I was lucky enough to be given an advanced copy from the author and would recommend for anyone to read. It had a great final message that life can throw you curve balls, ups & downs but to always look on the bright side and maybe things happen for a reason. Would love to read a follow up on these characters lives.

Last night in laguna is an interesting, romantic and emotional read. Bex, who believes she's a gypsy at heart coupled with the fact that her sister is terminally ill is scared of committing and settling down with Kai. But Kai who is a true romantic fought for what he wants...Bex and their little baby and finally love won. "I got a copy of this book from ebook discovery in exchange for an honest review".

I've read several of these Kindle World Laguna Beach books and I have to say I enjoyed this one as well, although this one was not my favorite. I really liked Kai, but I had some issues with Bex. The way she acted was annoying to me because she was pretty immature about a lot of things. By the end of the book she redeemed herself by the end of the book. I still definitely recommend reading this book!

I have, to be honest, I really enjoyed this book. It’s almost magically how an ‘epic night’ as she called it turned out to be a lifetime of events. She thought that her soul will never be able to settle up and make her own roots. It’s a mix between steam hot and sweet.
