This book is standalone. Guaranteed HEA, NO cheating, NO cliffhanger. This book is a dark mafia romance with themes that some people may find disturbing. Read at your own risk!

How have I not read anything by this author before? Holy oversight Batman! This book was SO good. To be honest, I almost stopped reading a couple chapters in because I thought Vee would be too "alpha" for me. I prefer my heroines to be softer, but Vee turned out to perfectly combine both tough and vulnerable, so I am glad I stuck with it. And the hero...SMOKING HOT and alpha as f-ck. Rawr...(lol)
On top of all that main character goodness we also get a fantastically written book. It was well paced. The plot was super engaging and well developed. Tons of action. A little darkness. There was no OW or OM drama. Smokin' hot sex scenes. A great cast of secondary characters. I am DYING to get my hands on Raina and Mateo's book! So yea, I LOVED it and now I am off to devour book one.
I now have a new favorite Nikita Slater book. I loved Queen’s Move!
“ “.......ask me for the world. See what happens.” “
Yes! That’s this super bad, tough, strong, sexy, powerful, feared, wealthy, anti-hero speaking to the h. The H was a dominant, jealous/possessive (j/p) alpha who knew exactly what he wanted and what he wanted was the h. He was a goner for the h from the moment he met her.
Throughout their “courtship”, I loved how he exercised patience and restraint with the h. Though his determination that the h would be his wife was unmovable, he was indulgent with her and good to her. I loved that. I’m not saying he didn’t do questionable things like It‘s just that his care of her was there and it was very apparent. It was palpable. I also loved how he so obviously thought of her safety, well being and comfort in so many ways, and how he trusted her judgement and respected her intellect. He wanted her by his side, as a powerful woman, answerable only to him.
The H talking to the h - “ “The world can fear me, Vee. In fact, the world should fear me. I will rip it to shreds one piece at a time to get at what I want. And I’ll enjoy every moment,” he said, a small flicker of savage emotion deep in his dark brown eyes. “But you will never have need to fear me.” “
I loved that and pretty much just loved this H.
Then there was the h. She was a beautiful, smart and strong h but in no way did I find her bitchy, argumentative for the sake of arguing, tstl or anything of that nature. She was a sympathetic character and who was also classy, IMO.
I also loved that there was true relationship development in this book so that by the time the H and h were intimate, I believed in more than their attraction. I believed that caring had developed and that true love was dawning.
The H to the h - “ “I have loved you from the moment I set eyes on you, Vee. Every minute since has confirmed and deepened my feelings.” “
Sigh! Queen’s Move has everything that I want in a mafia romance and I absolutely loved it!
It was very hard to put down kinda book. Unpredictable as hell. I was so eager to read every move of ‘Queen’ and the superb countermove of ‘Gentleman Butcher’. I enjoyed their power-play, constant fight and unexpected twists and turns. She is one of my fav author so I expected nothing less. The power dynamics in this book- so hot! The mafia world the author creats is getting better book by book. MC’s were a true alpha pair. Hero was a older man who is obsessed with heroine. Heroine, a mafia queen who fought hard for everything she owns (also older than typical heroines). I loved her sarcastic dialogues so much. Eagerly waiting for next in line ‘Born A Queen’. Recommended.
Queen's Move, the second book in the Queens series by Nikita Slater, was an intense and gritty story with two amazing main characters and a mind blowing plot. I just loved everything about this book. The cat-and-mouse relationship between Sotza and Vee was both thrilling and sexy, and the mafia suspense elements were flawlessly done.
"You're a fighter, Vee. The battle just makes the prize that much sweeter."
Slater consistently delivers fantastic storylines, and this book was no exception. The story completely grabbed me from start to finish, with its fast-paced suspense and the tension between the main characters. The push and pull dynamic between Vee and Sotza was one of the best I've ever read. I loved the complexity of both characters, and unpredictability that was in the air every time they faced off. I am not usually a fan of alpha females, but Vee was written in a way that made her so likable, and the author kept her softness and vulnerability at just the right level. I loved how she stood her ground with Sotza and kept true to herself. She lived a hard life and it shaped her as a person, and I really liked the balance that Slater created with her character. Sotza was a complete powerhouse, and their battles were so entertaining. I loved how all-in he was after just one encounter with Vee. He was violent and ruthless, obsessive and unyieldingly possessive when it came to the woman he claimed.
"He would break her down until be conquered her, owned her. Mind, body, and soul."
The sex between them was scorching hot, and the connection they forged through their conflicts was a strong one. One thing I always enjoy about this author's work is that she never softens her heroes to make them more likeable, and keeps them true to who they are. Sotza and Vee battled it out until the very end, and that's what made this story so intriguing. The characters were so well written. The plot and the execution of the story were both brilliantly done. I really enjoyed the way the beginning of Raina and Mateo's story was built into this one, and it looks like their book will be another fantastic addition to the Queens series. I am so in love with this series and am so happy to know that there are more coming. I will be anxiously waiting to get my hands on the next one.
I’m too thrilled regarding the direction this series is headed. Dark, intense, gritty, and oh so AWESOME! Vee is definitely no softie. She is running Miami and definitely making a name for herself…..Queen. However, there’s always some jealous petty imbecile that won’t allow one to be GREAT so reinforcements are called in to assist. Sotza. The Gentleman Butcher.
These two are like turpentine and water! Every second there’s fighting. Sotza “allows” Vee’s tantrums. And boy does she have THE tantrums! Sotza patiently continues to wreak havoc and redirect his life mate. It’s comical at times. This book is definitely Slater at her finest. Queen’s Move is dark. But what EPIC story isn’t? Read with caution and enjoy!
I absolutely loved the first book in this series and CANNOT WAIT!
The Mafia trope are my absolute favorite! There was so much about this book that just worked. The flow, the characters, the twists and turns in the plot, and all the hot scenes.
Sotza and Elvira are both personified as having strong characters and when circumstances brings them head to head you can’t help but worry about how it may be resolved. The power struggle was constant. Sotza is not one to play around and when he decides to take Vee for himself he literally transforms into an OTT possessive alpha that I absolutely loved. Our heroine has is a queen who fights with an unprecedented strength in her own right and doesn’t make the fight easy for Sotza.
The plot, sex scenes, and secondary characters made this book a definite FIVE stars!
Nikita Slaterhas stamped her brand all over the story; giving us her usual crazy and obsessive heroes. But what I love most is her making the heroines an equal to her heroes.
This story may be dark-ish for some. In fact, it has harsh contents but it's actually what make the story. Underground themed books usually have dark and brutal storyline but the author did not really made it her focus but the developing relationship between her main characters.
Where in other books, the gore and the fcukedupness are being extremely flaunt and discuss, in this book, the author shows you the life in the underground world while making both her MCs survive it and while surviving each other.
The possession and obsession combined with pure unadulterated lust and longing is very palpable, it will burn your Kindle!
That's one more to add as to why I love reading her books. The characters sticks through its core. The author shows you what it is to be like in finding love while living dangerously. Her characters were all humanly flawed, but despite having them, they're still capable of feeling and giving adoration and love. It is not, after all, easy to find real love while living and leading a dangerous life.
Her male characters are all strong and determined. Tough in all ways. Alphas through and through. That can be said with her female characters. They have something that lure and hook these dominating males. The chase is absolutely exciting!
Also, trust Nikita to end this book with a BANG! That epilogue will give me itch until the next book releases! I honestly can't wait!
*ARC provided by the author in exchange of an honest feedback.
I can’t believe I am saying this but whilst I liked the book I didn’t love it. I adore NS and I was really looking forward to it but it just had a few things that are pet peeves of mine and I didn’t find the hero alpha enough. He was very manipulative and he worked behind the scenes which I did like but the raw alpha persona was missing and I mourned that trait because that’s the type of male characters that I love in Nikita Slater’s books. So even though I didn’t love this book I am looking forward to her daughter’s book!

Nikita is back at it again! Sotza was sizzling HOT damn. What can I say? I love me some hot alphas who tend to be on the stalker and obsessive side.
Sotza and Vee were such a power couple! Vee's sass and snark towards Sotza were hilarious, she was a Queen who bowed to no one. But under all that, she still kept her compassion and heart to those who earned her loyalty and love. Sotza was more cold and cruel however, with Vee his adoration and love was shown but only for her. He knew what he wanted and he wanted his queen by his side. Nothing would stand in his way and those who hurt her would die by his hands. I enjoyed this book so much, I love all the guys in Nikita's books and Sotza just made it to my favorite list that housed Daniel and Boris <3 I'm looking forward to her next book!
"The world can fear me, Vee. In fact, the world should fear me. I will rip it to shreds one piece at a time to get what I want. And I'll enjoy every moment," he said, a small flicker of savage emotion deep in his dark brown eyes. "But you will never have need to fear me."
I really enjoyed this book and this series for that matter. I received an ARC yesterday and it was so good I devoured the book. I couldn’t allow myself to go to bed last night until it was finished. Let me rephrase that I didn’t go to sleep until it was finished because I just couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love Cartel and Mafia Romance Books and this is one of my favorite. I can honestly say every time Nikita comes out with a new book she never lets her readers and fans down she is so very talented. I was beyond excited when I received this book yesterday when you read it you’ll understand. Also I can’t wait to read Mateo’s story next *because he and Vee’s daughter definitely have something.* *possibly considered a spoiler*

Far better than the first in the series and I didn’t think that was at all possible. Much more strategic detail in the happenings of the mafia war and great strong woman fighting to remain on top. There were times I thought I was in the story wondering what I would do and how I would react against Sotza’s conquering strategy. Didn’t see Sotza’s final “breaking” moment coming for Vee that definitely brought out her fire and to avoid spoilers I will say that this story keeps you on your toes and always keeps you guessing. Great introduction in what will be the next story an I must say I am chomping at the bit to get the next one
Nikita Slater delivers again! I am so excited about this super-hot book. So many things to love including her re-imagining of Vee's life from Scarface. Everyone does it for Pride & Prejudice, Slater does it for mafia moves. I love that she's so twisted!
Without giving anything away, I'm impressed with her strong characters, particularly Vee's strength of personality. But love Sotza, despite a rather graphic scene. Or maybe because. No, despite. Slater knows how to write sex scenes and torture scenes. Both will leave you panting, both will leave you highly disturbed, both will leave you wanting more. The plot is strong, the first half providing the elements and tension that lead to the second half, which amps up in a super-hot way.
This is yet another fantastic story by Nikita Slater. The second book in The Queens series doesn’t disappoint. It’s the story of Vee and Isaac, both born into the mafia world. Vee is struggling to keep her hold on her Miami empire while Isaac wants to take her from that and make her his queen of vastly larger holdings. Can these enemies become lovers and combine their strengths to create a stronger influence on their worlds?
I found this story to be completely engaging; the characters were strong and well defined and the story held my attention through to the end. I highly recommend this book!
OMG!!!! This book is absolutely positively amazing. I love everything about this book from the beginning to the ending. Sotza is sexy hot and his Queen Vee I truly loved her character. Nikita Slater you never disappoint LOVED IT!!!
Dee & Sotza, where do I start. She's an independent Miami mob boss and Sotza is an Alpha, with the nickname of "The Gentleman Butcher". Loved their chemistry from the beginning. It is definitely a page turner and it leaves you thirsty for more. Definitely s Five-Star read!!!
Sotza is pretty intense! Vee has met her match. The woman is stubborn af. Until Sotza! He straightens her ass out and puts her in her place. I can’t wait to read Mateo’s story!!
Vee is no ordinary heroine. She’s strong, fierce and understands just how ruthless the mob world she lives in can be. She tries to salvage her organization when it starts falling apart due to the Gentleman Butcher coming to fix her territory. But being fascinated by Vee, the Gentleman Butcher decides to possess her along with her territory.
Isaac Sotza was nicknamed the Gentleman Butcher as he liked to torture his enemies in a gentlemanly fashion. He stalks and corners Vee at every opportunity, giving her barbaric presents in order to proclaim his loyalty to her until she uses her last move to run away from him.
This story is a slow burn romance that really spices up when Sotza binds Vee to him permanently. He even helps to reunite Vee with someone very close to her.
Nikita Slater is a great storyteller who is able to create an amazing world in which two people who have experienced the cruelties of the world learn to care for and experience the beauty of it in each other.
I ended up loving every part of this book. I cannot wait to learn about what happens to Raina and Matteo in the next book of this series.
Queen’s Move Book Two of The Queens Written by Nikita Slater 5 Stars isn’t enough
“I’ll never be yours.”
“My patience isn’t endless,” he said quietly. “Step carefully.... Leaving me will never be an option, not now and not in our future.”
This series has quickly climbed to the top of my all time favorites. It has passion, chemistry, fear, the unexpected, loyalty, revenge, deceit and a dark edginess. There were parts that were dark and expected being this is a mafia series. One scene was almost too much for me, but Nikita knew exactly when to dial it back to not take me too far.
“He would break her down until he conquered her, owned her. Mind, body and soul.”
As I turned the final pages I was hoping this series wasn’t coming to an end. I was thrilled to see Raina will be getting her story in Born a Queen. If you haven’t read the other books in The Queens Series you will want to grab those~won’t want to miss out!
One of the many things I absolutely love about Queen’s Move is the homage to Scarface featuring the Miami drug trade and characters Tony and Elvira (Vee) Montana. Nikita Slater takes up where Tony’s reign ends and she injects a bigger and badder wolf, Sotza, who comes to town to take over the throne. Elvira is a strong, independent woman with her own mind and a head for business while Sotza is the brutal Butcher who is always ten steps ahead of everyone and shows no mercy. The slow burn between Sotza and Vee is an intense power struggle and tug of war between two very strong willed individuals. Sotza is the ultimate unflinching and unapologetic alpha while Vee is strong enough to withstand his menacing possession.
I feel like this review is going to be so similar to my other ones because they all say the same thing--Nikita Slater is the QUEEN of writing mafia romance. If I didn't know any better, I would think she's a part of the mafia in real life with how well all of her books are written. I absolutely love Vee. She is everything I love in a female lead. She's strong, sassy, independent and sexy. The back and forth banter and cat and mouse game her and the H played made for a fantastic dynamic. This will be one of those books I read over and over again!!!
5++ Stars for a Sensational Book!!! She killed her husband with no remorse and took over the city. She is Vee Montana, the Queen of Miami's Mafia and bows to no one until Sotza. He is the Bolivian Cartel or better known as "The Butcher" and is coming for her. According to her friend Casey, who is married to Reyes, who heads it all. He is sending Sotza to get the city under control. I loved this story line. Nikita Slater is a phenomenal author and writes exceptional books. This book has it all, a gorgeous woman, a ruthless, handsome Mob/Cartel man who takes no prisoners. It's brutal and horrific, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will draw you in from the first page and keep you prisoner until the last page. Read it today and if you have not read the first book in the series, Scarred Queen, read it also. It is another fabulous book!
This is only the 2nd book by this author Iv read and I must say I love her words I started this book not realising it was #2 but that said they are both standalone’s so probably just some back story I’m missing but it didn’t distract from the story at all This is the story of Issac and Vee she is the Mafia boss of Miami and he is sent in to take her out as the Mexicans are not playing Ballard won’t bow to a female but one meeting and Issac wants her for himself his Queen at his side a formidable together but Vee has other ideas and there lies the story. I loved it gritty but not to dark and a different spin on your normal Mafia story
ohh man this was good. one thing I must say I enjoyed greatly was how when it sounded like the story was done, I was only half way through the book and I couldn't help wonder what else was to come into the plot. great twist haha absolutely love this series. strong females, perfect queens, great mafia kings that has the personality down perfectly. action, suspense, even got teary here and there. CANNOT wait to read the next one about raina. well freaking done!
Omg! Nikita, what are you doing to me with these books girl! I loved this book. They just keep getting better and better. First off Sotza is crazy as a hell! I loved the hot chemistry between him and Vee. I couldn’t put this book down. Define a page turner and please tell me you’re writing a book for Mateo and Raina? Please!!!🙏🏾. This book was amazing I’m going through withdrawals right now. I want reread it just because it was that good❤️.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was on pins and needles waiting for this book. TOTALLY worth the wait. Vee and The Butcher were explosive. This is not your typical love story nor is it for the faint of heart. I love how violent and real they are. Vee stands strong and doesn't bend her values and beliefs. She is strong and stands up for herself! The Butcher - how he manages to be sexy but that violent and harsh is beyond me but it works!! We also get a side story along with major hints to the next book in the series. Awesome read!!!
Queen's move was such an intense and riveting story. Vee and Issac are such powerful and strong duo. The mafia makes them a formidable pair and together they can rule the world!
