The phonics of the French pronunciations were accurate about half of the time. Based on me taking French in high school and a semester in college, so I'm not a pro, but that is what brought my attention to about half of the pronunciations being written out phonetically wrong. If you have never spoken beginning French, you'll be teaching your little one wrong with this book.

Also, it tells you what syllable the emphasis is on, but the French don't use emphasis as much as the English language does. They are more of a monotone language.

If it weren't for Sesame Street pictures, I'd
give this book one star.
