Big ideas.
Drawing on captivating examples from thousands of years past, to the most cutting-edge neuroscience, the book Big Ideas tells the mesmerizing story of how many of the world’s best ideas came about as a result of serious problems that required superior thinking. The first half of the book is a captivating study of the science of the brain, brainwaves, sleep, and the impact of technology on the quality of thought, ingenuity and peace of mind. The treasured Aha! Moment aka - gamma spike, is explained and detailed as to how it transforms us and the world we live in. The second part of Big Ideas presents a simple, five-step model, available to anyone who wants to access wisdom, and experience more Aha! Moments and better thinking in their daily life. It is a wonderful book brimming with insight and discovery.
Big Ideas is available in hard copy, on Kindle and on Audible at Amazon.com and in select book stores throughout the country.
Clear and methodical approach to breakthrough ideas. I had not considered there is a specific repeatable pattern to how really impactful ideas are discovered and developed. A nice mix of brain theory and practical “how to”.
This book was given to me at work. The wife of one of our VPs co-wrote it and we were also able to see a presentation by the author at our annual marketing meeting a couple months ago. It talks about the different states of brain activity, how we need to spend more time in the 'alpha' (rest) state through meditation and other things and how to create and take advantage of 'A-Ha' moments. The talked about the importance of writing rather than typing as well as the importance of writing more in general (with which I agree and need to do more of through journaling). Took some helpful notes which I'll want to record and refer to in Evernote. They gave some good examples of historical figures using these principles, many of which confirmed my own practices and made me feel like I'm doing some right things. Slow the brain down, meditate daily, write and record notes from what you read, ponder more, etc. Good stuff.

Somewhat inspirational book, with several real examples from the well-known inventers, spent over 6 hours to finish reading yet worth reading. It gave the information about how human's brain works and what shall we do when the big idea comes out.
Really liked this book! It's great for anyone who has to THINK at all - not just those looking for "big ideas"! It's converted me to sleep, meditation, and down time! I listened to the audiobook and it's a really great listen.
Inspiring and thought provoking book on curiosity and asking questions, incubating them, writing and researching and finally implementing them. Great examples and true stories of some of the brightest minds in history, this book will give real tools and insights into going from a thought to a solution or AHA! Moment. Very readable and comprehendible.
