Logan Andrews believes in one thing: Money over all else.
So much so that his multi-billion-dollar empire is tanking over it. His ruthless tactics and stone-cold heart have garnered his press his stocks are now paying for. In a few weeks, his billions will be gone if he can't do something about it.
Enter, Mia Charles. An intelligent, beautiful, outspoken woman who specializes in rebranding and repairing media reputations. But once she enters the scene, the only thing Logan can focus on is her lips. Her hips. Her legs. Her curves.
Not repairing the Andrews' name... that has already been soiled once.
While an overall OK read, there were too many awkward sentences and incorrectly used words. The story was apparently set in NYC, but it's clear the writer does not know the city. Can't tell if the heroine is a woc or not. All there is of a description is that she has tanned skin - which can mean anything.
I have no interest in reading the continuing story.
I don't know if I'm going to finish this book. My biggest problem with this book is the author is doing more telling than showing. She tells me more than shows me the 'good elements' of the male protag's character (I added quotes because all I have to go on is the voiced opinions of a few characters and very little evidence to back up their claims) which I strongly dislike in general, but this author especially enjoys shoving her protag's 'good qualities' down her reader's throats in the beginning via his lackey, Mr. Grey (just the description of this man's appearance made me roll my eyes, it would have been more interesting if Mr. Grey really had purple eyes and a turquoise suit) and later by the fem protag.
The male protag irritates me, deeply. He hires the fem protag to help him with a mess he's gotten himself into then when she offers plenty of ideas to get the party started, the male protag is extremely combative for no reason. He tries to stick with the same narrow-minded half-cocked view of doing things only if they make him money immediately, however he missed the other side of the business mantra where occasionally you have to spend money to make money. His bull-headed "I'm gonna do things my way and only my way" ideals caused a large part of the publicity quagmire. Listening to the woman you hired who handles problems like yours For. A. Living. is not going to kill you. His stubbornness has lead to at least 4 irritatingly repetitive conversations between himself and the fem protag so far.
I also hate how the male protag's feelings of being impressed by the fem protag's work skills (honestly, so far they're not very impressive, but she has time to become awesome) is usually less detailed than his mental lists of why she's sexy. I do not get the impression he respects her as much as the author would have me believe, and I can accept a lot of things in my male protags, but a lack of true respect for his counterpart/fellow female characters is not among them.
Logan Andrews is an egocentric CEO whose company is heading south because of his divorce with his ex-wife and his latest acquisition. Mia Charles is a publicist that helps companies and people brand themselves. She comes to help Logan rebrand his image because of the bad publicity lately. But from the offset they both find each other attractive which doesn’t bode well for Mia in trying to help Logan rebrand his company and himself. On the night of a gala that was supposed to help remake over Logan’s image the thing that shouldn’t have happened did and now Mia is leaving the employment of Logan. But I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next.
This may just be Part 1, but it definitely has that "wow" factor. It is so good and I was so wrapped up in it that I forgot it was only Part 1 until the last dramatic sentence. :) I really like Mia and I am in her corner cheering for her all the way. Logan has a serious chip on his shoulder and I think he is making some very immature/prideful decisions for such a smart businessman. Very well written and has me hungry for more....
This story kept you on your toes until the end. The main character Caleb was a real piece of work. Mia was a strong female character. Even though there was a spark between them I can't wait to find out if they can have a relationship.
I loved this book. It was suspenseful and exciting and romantic. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series to find out what happens to Logan and Mia!
Good erotic scenes but the story itself is not great. yes, it's your typical billionaire romance, but he was too much of an asshole to make the book enjoyable.
