She’s the only one to get past his guard…he’s the only one to break down her walls.
For nearly thirty years, retired US Navy SEAL Commander Archer Malone made the Navy his home. Now he’s out and tasked by a secret Bone Frog division of DHS to lead a hand-picked civilian team. Their mission: locate and eliminate a rogue crew chatter indicates intends to target Wall Street. The problem: no one knows what they look like, or if they plan to rob or bomb the World Bank. The bigger problem: one of his team members is the attractive – off limits – single mother of a Navy SEAL he once commanded. Sandy Vickers is as good at blending in as she is at locating people. A skill she honed working for the D.A.’s office while her son was young, then for DHS after he joined the Navy. Proud of him for following in his late father’s footsteps and serving the country, she jumps at the chance to do her part too when offered a spot on a secret DHS team. Too bad the SEAL in charge is her son’s sexy former commander…the one who always leapfrog’d her pulse. Forced proximity soon snaps their control, and they give in to their attraction. But when their location is attacked, Archer realizes the economy isn’t the only thing threatened with destabilization. Now their lives – and hearts – are on the line, and this silver SEAL is determined to keep Sandy safe, unmask and hunt down the traitor, and take out the rogue crew…before they all run out of time.
It’s all my mother’s fault. She read to me when I was little and sparked my imagination. Now, my mind is the limit, and believe me, there’s no limit to my mind.
Hello, I’m Donna Michaels, NYT & USA Today Bestselling Award winning author of Romaginative fiction. I write romance through the H’s—Hot, Humorous, Heartwarming, with strong alpha cowboys and military men who are equally matched by their heroines.
With a husband retired from the military and now working at a brewery, four children, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, several rescued cats, and my parents living with us, I never run out of material. From short to epic, my books entertain readers across a variety of sub-genres, and one has even been hand drawn into a Japanese Translation. Now, if only I could read it…
I can't express how happy I am that authors are writing more stories with older heroes. Seal in Charge is one of those stories. Archer Malone is a retired Navy SEAL with gray hair and scars to prove it. There are times when I feel a little creepy enjoying the escapades of men younger that one of my children. Just EWWWWWW! I have no guilt drooling over retired seal, Archer Malone. He sounds devine.
Suspenseful isn't a strong enough word to describe the terrible situation that was going on in New York City. Thriller describes how I felt as turned page after page trying to figure out what was going on. Thankfully I wasn't the only one that was stumped. Even the characters were having a hard time trying to figure out who, what, when, and why.
Sure there were hints of a mole, but who the heck was giving information on Sandy Vickers and the DHS to the unknown bad guy. It just didn't make sense. Thankfully she had Archer has her Seal in Charge. The chemistry between them steamed up the pages. The respect he had for her had me swooning. His protective instincts come in handy. Thankfully both were smart enough to realize that they could not save the world on their own. Knight Security to the rescue!!! I do love how Jameson Knight and his security operations pop up in other books.
This is a great example of Suspenseful Romance. The romance between Sandy and Archer could be considered a forbidden romance by some. He was her son's commanding officer before his retirement. I found it to be the perfect romance. They have a lot in common. They want to serve their country. They work together.
This story is about retired US Navy SEAL Commander Archer Malone and his mission to find a "ghost" terrorist and stop him before hits NYC's Federal Reserve. Her enlists the help of Matteo and Bella from Ms. Michaels "Grinch Reaper" novel and add in T.J. a hacker genius. Add in one extra teammate, Sandy Vickers who works for DHS. She is the mother of a Navy seal who was under Malone's command. One he could not forget. One she can't forget either. Sparks will fly!
This story takes place in Atlantic City, NJ and NYC. I live in Jersey so it is always fun to read stories where you know some of the places mentioned. This story was faced paced and full of passion.
Bella is a badass terrorist hunter who needs to be reminded not to kill people which provides some comedy in this tension filled story. I am not sure how Matteo has the patience to live with Bella and her blood thirsty ways! I liked T. J. as well, he is amazingly good at what he does and is badass in his own way. Archer is all sexy Seal and all alpha male ready to protect Sandy at all costs. They all come together in a story that is worthy of the series. In fact I liked it so much I went back to buy some stories from Ms. Michaels "Dangerous Curves" series. I wanted to know more about the Knight Agency and what they do.
Loving the mature Seals💚💙 Hooboy! This one had me turning pages while biting my nails. There was never a dull moment, didn't matter if they were in the "nest" discussing plots, monitoring or kissing the livin daylights outta each other, or actively on the hunt for whoever was threatening the USA. Action packed, suspenseful drama throughout. Archer and Sandy had chemistry wbw they first met when her own son was a froglet under Archer. Now thrown together on this mission, bombs aren't the only thing exploding. All the scenarios flowed so smoothly for me, I never lost focus of the ultimate goal, nor did they. Archer respected Sandy's position and trusted her, even tho he just really wanted to keep her out of harm's way, and they worked so well together. They just fit each other in all ways. Big bonus, Bella and Matteo (jumping up & down), their story in Ginch Reaper from the Sleeper Seal series, is part of Archer's team. Double the excitement! Ms. Michaels does an excellent job of keeping a reader in the zone at all times. This can be read independently but is part of the Silver Seals series and all that goodness.
SEAL in Charge is a fast pace story with great characters and storyline. Commander Archer Malone was medically discharged from the Navy, but once a seal always a seal. DHS director Silas will ask Malone to lead a team to find and take down any threats to Federal Bank Reserve. Malone gets to pick his team except for Sandy Vickers she is on loan from DHS. Malone picks Mateo, Bella and Ty from Knight Agency to help with this assignment. Mateo and Bella are Michaels characters from her Grinch Reaper from Sleeper Seals series. Loved Mateo and Bella, in my opinion their story is a must read. Michaels gives us suspense, love, humor, ahhh moments and many more nailing biting scenes. In my opinion Sandy and Bella stole this story. Two strong female characters completely but both with a strong personalities. SEAL in Charge is definitely a must read. I would suggest reading book 1 of Silver SEALs series by Cat Johnson to see how Silas comes into running the secret group out of DHS, that book is called SEAL Strong. This is the second story I have read by Michaels and I enjoyed it, I will be looking into her other books. Happy Reading!!
I have read and loved books 0-3 in this series, and this one was just as good. The stories are about former Navy SEALs recruited into a special DHS agency to take care of threats in the USA. This time, the story belongs to retired Navy SEAL Commander Archer Malone and Sandy Vickers, mother of one of his former soldiers and the woman that he was attracted to when he met her, but was off limits. When they are forced to work together in order to stop a threat, the attraction blossoms. Now allowed since Archer is no longer her son’s Commander. But as their attraction develops, so do the dangers surrounding them. Will Bone Frog , with Sandy’s help, be able to stop the threat? Or will Archer and Sandy never get their chance at love? The story has a very engaging plot, that keeps you on the edge of your seats, with hunky good guys, evil bad guys, strong women and of course romance. What more do you want ! Can’t wait for the next book in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I love this series because these characters have job experience, life experience and wisdom of their years and that gives them confidence. Confidence is sexy! Individually Archer Malone and Sandy Vickers are two sexy people. Together they are seriously HOT!
Archer and Sandy are brought together for a critical mission but it's not their first time meeting. Archer had been Sandy's son's SEAL commanding officer. There was a definite spark between the two but it's an unwritten rule....you don't mess around with another SEAL's family. When it becomes apparent that Sandy wants Archer as much as he wants her, his need overcomes his guilt, with a nudge from her. As their team works feverishly to uncover the bad guy's plot and execute a take down, Archer's worst fear is realized. Now he will pour all his energy and experience into bringing about a safe end to the mission.
I love these retired SEAL commanders, they still the amazing men they were albeit with a few more aches and pains.
In this one, Silas 'Crash' Branson taps retired SEAL Commander Archer Malone for a DHS mission in New York. Chatter has it that a group that Archer is familiar with from a bombing overseas is planning something possibly with the Federal Reserve.
Now the DHS agent he will be working with is known to him. Sandy Vickers is the mother of a SEAL, one who had been under his command when they first met. That put her immediately in the do not get involved category.
I fell in love with not only Archer and Sandy, but also the rest of the team on this mission. TJ is a hoot and Bella and Matteo well, they're a great team and dang she's blood-thirsty.
Lots of hold your breath action, sizzling heat and suspense.
Seal in Charge is the story of Archer Malone, a retired US Navy Seal Commander and Sandy Vickers, who is the mother of a Navy Seal that Archer commanded. These two are thrown together on a mission to locate and eliminate a rogue crew that chatter says has plans to attack Wall Street. Archer and Sandy are drawn to each other and she surprises him with her ability to take care of herself. Being thrown together keeps the attraction that they have always felt towards one another burning hot. This book can be read as a standalone, but I really enjoyed getting another glimpse of Matteo and Bella from Grinch Reaper also by Donna Michaels. This book is loaded with passion, romance, friends and suspense, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I also have to say that it is great reading about older or should I say mature heroes!!
Archer and Sandy are strong, dedicated and loyal. Archer is a medically retired SEAL Commander. Sandy is an analyst/agent for the Department of Homeland Security. He's still fit to run private missions. She's the widow of one SEAL and their son is now a Navy SEAL. Together with a team of highly trained and specialized operatives this pair will take on a secretive band of terrorists who plan damage to an iconic and valuable NYC establishment. Attacks get personal, there is clearly a mole in DHS and more innocents are in danger, including Sandy. Archer met Sandy before, and let her go, that's not going to happen again. Well written, great detail without bogging down, action is concise and exciting this book has excellent suspense that moves at a good pace. Loved this book.
Medically discharged into retirement Archer is living his life. Fixed up his childhood home and boat his dream boat but he's missing something. After a disastrous relationship where is ex aborted their child then losing his father and brother in the attack on 911 he's basically existing. Until Silas approached him needing his help in taking down a terrorist group. He agrees and then he finds out that one person on his team is the woman he's been infatuated with for three years. One of his seal team's mother. When he's around her he can't think what he doesn't know is when she's around him the reaction is mutual. Lots of action and suspense and some romance thrown in there. I loved it. Archer and his team get the bad guys and he also gets the woman. Yes they get married but the heart warming part is when she tells him he's going to be a daddy.
I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Donna Michaels has delivered a suspenseful and gripping story that could be ripped from the headlines.
Archer is a hot silver fox former SEAL who is called back into action by an off-the-books covert ops team headed by a close friend. When he goes on the mission, he discovers a member of his team is the mother of a young man that was under his command.
Sandy is whip-smart, trained in computer/covert surveillance and working for the DHS. She joins Archer's team to assist them in thwarting a terrorist attack on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. When she and Archer meet again, the chemistry is undeniable and unstoppable.
I enjoyed this book so much that I am going to seek out other works by this author!
Totally refreshing to read a story where the love interests were a little more “seasoned “. Dare I say middle age?? And yes, we still have sex past 40! Lol Loved the strong story of two such interesting characters. They’ve been around the block. Been there/Done that, but still love has a way of surprising you sometimes. A beautiful woman with a strong analytical mind, and a strong sexy seal whose at the top of his game. Thrown in great friends and bad guys. What more could you ask for. This was a great read by a great author. We don’t mind reading love stories about 20 year olds, but I believe theres an untapped market out there for those of us a little older but who still believe in romance. You give us hope! 🙂
OMG! This story was intense and funny! Archer is the retired Seal the main man of this story and the one woman that he knew was off limits was going to be on his team - Sandy. I love how Sandy makes his heart get out of control whenever she is around him and vice versa for Sandy. Sandy is definitely one tough chick since she seemed to be a target for a while. Archer's past came back full vengeance when the bomber made another appearance. Archer's team was able to stop him and did him of this world. Once the threat was eliminated, these two worked on their happily ever. Oh, I do loved Bella and Matteo! FANTASTIC team! TJ was great too! FANTASTIC job Donna! I would recommend this book.
I have to admit this has been on my TBR book list and I finally had time to read it and it was fantastic. You have the SEALs who have been medically retired or just retired who have been offered one more chance to do a op again by Silas and Department of Homeland Security. This operation is one that got away and Archer Malone is determined to catch the terrorist whose sights are on the Federal Reserve Bank.
Little does he know that Sandy Vickers works for the Feds and knows that Archie was her son's SEAL Commander but she won't let him get away this time. They will have a action packed adventure that will have twists and turns that will keep you turning pages just to figure out who is targeting the Reserve or is he? Because he has people watching them but when they are no longer useful they're discarded quickly. But will Archie and Sandy survive so they can have their HEA at their cabin on the beach?
For nearly thirty years, retired US Navy Seal Commander Archer Malone has made Navy his home. He is out and tasked b a DHS Secret Division Command to lead a hand picked civilian team. Their mission to locate and eliminate a rogue crew chatter indicates intends to target Wall Street. Sandy Vickers is great at blending in as she is locating people. The skill she honed for the DA office. Her son joined the Navy following his late father footsteps and serving his country. It ended up that Archer was his commander and Sandy and Archer meets then. They both felt the sparks but because of her son they stayed away from each other. They were trying to work together but the chemistry was too strong for them. They worked well together even though they started having a relationship
Archer a forced retired bonefrog who was trying to enjoy his forced retirement...... but deep down she was on his mind. Sandy had suffered threw alot but she worked to protect her country but she never forgot him. Donna Michael's brings you to Amazing characters in the middle if their life. They found each other and after a great deal ludie had passed they find each other. A zdx surprise even finds them. They must finish a mission before they can be at peace and be with each other. Each page draws you in emotions run high and the well written story keeps you from putting it down. I can't wait to read more from Mrs Michael's
It’s such a pleasure to read older characters, and these mature SEALs are hot! Archer Malone and Sandy Vickers are a great couple; they’re mature enough to know what they want; they’re scary good at their jobs; they work in sync together; and wow they have heat. Sandy’s skills are well honed, and they are a constant surprise to Archer. She is no shrinking violet needing rescue. The story is action packed, the writing is gripping, the plot has more than enough twists to keep you desperate to see what happens next – all in all, this is just a fantastic addition to this series. Oh, and you’ll want more Donna Michaels too!
Good one; as a New Yorker, anything threatening the NY area, even if it's fictional, hits too close to home. There is a real enemy here, and the retired SEAL in this story, also a New Yorker, knows he won't stand by and watch someone try to destroy part of the Financial District.
Archer Malone has lost enough; he won't stand for it again. When he is paired with a civilian analyst, who happens to be the mother of one of his team, he can't shake the attraction he has for her. IT wreaks havoc on their concentration. However, Matteo (Grinch Reaper) and his wife Isabella (Banshee) help Archer and Sandy find their way.
Archer is a retired Seal. He is getting ready to head out on his boat. Sandy works for DHS. She is a widow and a mom. Archer has been brought out of retirement when Silas talked him about a possible robbery that they have heard chatter about. Archer just found out he will be working with the one woman he has wanted for awhile. He stayed away from her in the beginning because her son was under his command. Archer and Sandy have a hard time keeping their hands off each other. They tried waiting until after the case but that isn't going too well. Will they find the person behind the possible robbery? Will they continue their relationship?
Archer is a retired commander from the navy seals and is asked to help lead a case with DHS and finds out that the woman he has always wanted and dreamed about but couldn't have is now on the team but her life is in danger. Archer will do everything he can to keep her safe but no one knows who is behind it. Omg this book is absolutely filled with suspense and action packed and romance and chemistry and steamy sex but it does keep you on the edge of your seat. Well done Donna on another Amazing And Hit Book. Loved it!!
I loved the depth of the plot line along with the suspenseful buildup to the climax, the team working well together with each of their strengths used for maximum outcome. The characters were all likeable and charismatic, the two main ones had a real spark from the start, I actually expected combustion at times. Interesting storyline with some action, lots of investigating and a few bad guys along the way, a great compliment to the Silver Seals series and I'm loving the slightly older characters to show there is still plenty of life to enjoy.
Loving this series that features more mature SEALs. In this story, we get to know retired SEAL Commander Archer Malone. He's called in to lead a team to investigate a threat against the Federal Reserve in New York City. What a surprise when one of the team members turns out to be the mother of a SEAL that was under his commend, Sandy Vickers.
The chemistry between Archer and Sandy jumped off the pages. And the suspense of who was after Sandy and why kept me turning the pages of this book. Also fell love with Bella and TJ. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I love Archer and Sandy. He keeps thinking he needs to make sure she is safe and she keeps proving that she is more than just an analyst that stays behind a computer. They both have had feelings for each other for a few years but never acted on the because she was the mon of one of the SEALs under his command and that was a line he would not cross. Now that he is retired that doesn't apply anymore. But can they keep their lust under control and work together to catch the bomber before he bombs the Federal Reserve?
"SEAL in Charge" (Silver SEALs Book 4) by Donna Michaels is a terrific read. I loved Archer and Sandy's story. This is a great addition to the Silver SEALs. This story is packed with military heroes, action, suspense, romance, passion, entertaining characters, and more. I loved catching up with Mateo, Bella, and TJ, members of the Knight Agency from the Dangerous Curves series. I hope we get more in the future from this interesting cast of characters. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, suspense, military, and series.
WOW, what a great love story. Filled with suspense and action packed. Archer is a retired SEAL enjoying his retirement and solitude when he's asked to lead a DHS mission. Sandy works for DHS. She has been offered a spot on a secret DHS team. What a surprise when in walks her sons former commander. Sandy has fantasized about him for years. Will working together stop the attraction that is forming, or will it explode into a lasting romance? A must read.
Excellent story line with plenty of action and heat. Archer maybe be retired and silver in his hair, but he's by no means out of shape and still has plenty of game left. When Sandy gets in trouble he'll do anything to protect her. She's been off limits for years because her son was on his team as a seal and now she's a widow and her son is on his own and he's retired. So all bets are off. Loved the ending. HEA.
Absolutely loved this silver seal romance, just like the ones before it, this one is romantic, steamy, witty with men and women that are chasing evil people to prevent a disaster from happening, keeping you on your toes, trying to figure it all out and not fall in love....Loved it from this new author to me!!😍😉😊
Seal on Charge: Loved it so much! Loved that all the Seal have a little bit of silver in their hair and still have a lot of love and stiffness to give. Loved Archer and how he was so attracted to Sandy and how they worked so well together. Fantastic writing!
This was my first read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed her style. The Silver SEALs are a great bunch of men and the Suspense Sisters do a wonderful job with this multi author set of stories. The inclusion of badass women like Sandy and Bella just gives the story more flavor.
This book was a mystery, rolled into a hot sexy romance and topped off with some of the funniest dialog I've read in a long while. The humor came when least expected so try to not get caught while sipping a drink! This author was new to me, but I can't wait to read more of her tales.
