This was a pleasant surprise. Appropriately, this is NOT a book for identifying birds, but it is an introduction to the wide variety of bird types. The art is clear and clean (no clutter). The section headings:

- What is a bird?
Birds are two-legged animals covered with feathers. They also lay eggs.

[Biggest = ostrich, smallest = hummingbird]

A great book about birds. Very basic descriptions of the birds and beautifully illustrated. This has been a joy to have for my children to read. I highly recommend this for children. Very educational and interesting.
