Love Above Law was cowritten by Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels.
The timeline aligned with book two in the Kings of Retribution MC series, the Darkest of Light. Leyna Martinez was Gabriel’s younger sister and was caught up in the suspenseful plot that surfaced within Gabriel and Alba’s story. Agent Lex Taylor was introduced in that saga as well.
Technically it could be read as a stand-alone; however, I enjoyed it more having had the full back story but this time getting the insight from Lex and Leyna’s perspectives.
I loved both characters as well as the storyline and I was glad the MC was incorporated, even if at a distance. Although enjoyable, I was craving more. It was an entertaining, quick and suspenseful read but I would have welcomed a longer version with more depth. In the end, I can’t wait to see what the authors have in store for us next.

I was late to the party when finding authors Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez. But once I started reading their Kings of Retribution MC series, I binged every book of that exciting series. I was hooked! So when I heard Gabriel 's sister Leyna was getting her story with hunky FBI agent Lex I was over the moon!
From the very first meeting you could feel the sizzling connection between Leyna and Lex even though a horrific experience was taking place. Leyna's quiet strength was a balm to the intensity that lives in Lex. One of the sweetest parts of Love Above Law is the patience and respect Lex had for Leyna. Never pushing her or taking things too far until she was ready. It was a beautiful slow burn that strengthened their relationship.
I loved that we got to see some of our favorites from the Kings of Retribution MC, but these two wonderful authors also introduced us to new characters that were just as fascinating! Fingers crossed that we will learn more about them.
Amazing read from two authors that are becoming an automatic one click!

OMG! This book had my heart in it's hand with an iron fist type of grip and refused to let go!!

Leyna has had a difficult life in her homeland of Cuba, unfortunately things are about to get much worse for her. Without giving away too much of this harrowingly beautiful and tragically heartbreaking story, I will say that it's an emotional story of a past wrapped in misunderstandings, loss, reunions and love. These ladies evoke the same scale of feelings I've ever only had with one other author who is lovingly nicknamed The Queen of Angst by her fans. Bravo ladies, you both have tremendous talent in telling stories and turning up the heat and angst with this one!!

It was fun to see Lex and Leyna's connection from the start. Better still was Gabriel's reaction and how Leyna didn't put up with it at all! She quickly had her brother put in his place, that her life was her life and she was going to do what she wanted with it. Just as it should be.
Lex did a great job of getting to know Leyna before making a move. That made how their relationship changed all the easier for them. While there were some rocky patches, like Lex's ex, Leyna wanting to get a job, they were able to work through that and sadly, so much more. It was nice to see things settle down and for them to be happy at the end surrounded by family.

I didn’t think I’d ever love anything quite as much and Sandy and Crystal’s MC series, but I was completely proven wrong. Love Above Law is not only captivating from the very start it’s also one of the most beautiful stories of love ever. Romantic love, family bonds, and all the ups and downs and everything in between, it’s just overflowing in this book. Leyna and Lex have a story that will absolutely blow you away.
Individually both Leyna and Lex are incredible people who from two wildly opposite worlds. However that isn’t enough to stop them from being down right amazing together. Their love is near instant but filled with so many hurdles you’d think no one could overcome. That doesn’t hold these two back though. The powerful and intense connect they have pulls them closer and closer together and nothing can stop something like that. With as much nail biting suspense as there is major swoon there is no putting this book down once you start!

Let's start off by saying these authors are definitely one of my top go to authors for MC romance reads as everything they write are always awesome reads and this current read was just as awesome.
The story itself was suspenseful and heart-wrenching in the fact that the Leyna was separated from your family by a whole country as well experiencing the loss of love ones moving on but, also about reconnection and about your past sins coming back to haunt you by effecting those you love getting caught up in the crossfire.
Leyna- We found to be smart, brave, loyal, beautiful, loving, giving, caring and willing to take risks. We loved when she loved you, she loved all your faults and all of you.I loved the fact that she grew up in Cuba and lived life modestly but, she accepted her brother's lifestyle with open arms and loved his family fiercely, and they loved her back just as much.
Gabe- Gabes been a favorite of mine we already loved the dark and moody brute of a man who happens to be Leyna's brother their love evident and their closeness for one another no matter the distanced they have endured but, that love will be tested when Leyna decides to love someone who is and will always be the clubs enemy. Leyna needs to prove she can be loyal to both sides, and only hope her brother comes around before it's too late.
Lex- We loved him and found him to be patient, driven, protective, highly skilled when it came to his job, loved his family fiercely, sexy, smart, funny, caring, loving but, what we loved most of all is the closeness he had with is family especially since they're always in his business. Can you just imagine what that was like, as he had three opinionated sisters and he was an unmarried male? Lol, I loved his special moments with his Nonna.
We loved the suspenseful story as it had tons of drama as well-being infused with a sweet romance that went on between Lex and Leyna. The story had an engaging plot a great cast of character's and an amazing ending that was perfect for this couple but, most of all, we loved seeing that straight laced Lex fall apart and go to great lengths and would sacrifice all that he has worked for just to save the women her loved and have the back in his arms once again at all cost.

Love Above Law is Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez's first book that takes place outside the Kings of Retribution MC world. Although we first meet Alexander "Lex" Taylor and Leyna Martinez in The Darkest of Light, we finally get all the details about her abduction and rescue.
Their insta-love story is nothing short of amazing, hot, and full of angst. It's impossible not to feel connected with these characters because, after all, who doesn't want a chance in life and love? While Lex is every bit of alpha, badass FBI agent, Leyna is not your typical damsel in distress. She might be in trouble but she is a strong and outspoken Cuban woman. She is inventive and feisty. And to me, finding a character like this is simply refreshing because there aren't many heroines like her.
I purposely don't want to give away details of their story because this book should be read by going in blind. Trust me, you will appreciate the full effect of their story and feel every bit of frustration and angst that surrounds it.
If you are a fan of the Kings of Retribution MC, don't worry! This might not be an MC book, but you will still get a glimpse of them, including some of Quinn's famous and funny out-of-place remarks.
But my favorite secondary character is Lex's nonna. She steals the show and made me laugh so much that I had tears in my eyes.
Once again, I'm blown away by Crystal and Sandy's capacity and talent to create characters that feel real and stories that I can't put down. Since this book can be read as a standalone, it's a great starting point if you want to experience Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez's amazing writing. You will probably be hooked and want to binge-read the Kings.

I was lucky to get an ARC for this book guys you must read it ASAP!
It was so good like all there books are this was no different idk what I had expected but it blew me away it was that good I loved Lex he was a good fit for Layna they were good together we got to see them go from friends to lovers well more friends from layna because Lex was all in since the get go but it was still wonderful and we also got to see more of the Kings at first I was kinda mad at the Kings for turning there back on Layna when she came told them about her moving to Seattle with Lex so she can go to school so I was mad at gabriel and the Kings I get where he’s coming from but idk I thought he was exaggerating a bit... I’m not going to make this review long because I feel like the more I write the more I give spoilers out you know so I’m just leaving it as is and all I can say is you guys will love them I know I did can’t wait for you guys to read about them together so sweet and wild 😜 lol wish I could go higher than 5 stars 🌟 can’t wait to see what they have in store for us with Nikolai and the his father cuz I need some more of my Russian men can’t wait 😊

I have been anxiously awaiting Lex’s and Leyna’s story since the characters were introduced in the Kings of Retribution Series. Love Above Law brings it all to the table – love, strength, family, and passion with an extra-large side of sexual tension. I love how genuine and true to themselves both characters were. We get to see Leyna’s strength, while Lex shows us his softer side. But make no mistake, he’s ready and willing to do anything for his woman.

Once I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down! Lex and Leyna may just be my favorite couple so far! I want to read more about them, I want to read what happens to them for the rest of their lives!! Lex was such a strong character it is hard not to love him from the very first page! Hope to see them in another book soon!

Another hit from these two ladies.
I admit when I started reading, I told myself, well I already know these characters, I know a little of their backstory from the Kings book, but going in depth with both the hero & heroine was truly amazing. Their story was so emotional & the connection they have from that first, very intense meeting, you could feel the attraction coming off the pages. They needed their own book & boy, did they get a good one.
Let me tell you about Lex, you will fall in love with Lex, he was super sexy & super alpha, but when it came to his woman (loved when he said that) he was something fierce.
Leyna, she was a hit from the beginning, very independent & can hold her own, but she was a softie when it came to her Lex.
This is a must read for fans of the Kings MC book & can very well stand alone. Do not miss this one.
This will definitely be a re-read for me in the future & I look forward to you ladies continuing with these characters & new characters that we’ll love from page 1.

I absolutely loved this book. There was so much family in this one which was amazing.
I loved that the MC was still in this book but that we were also Introduced to so many new characters.
Leyna was such an amazing and strong character, through all of the turmoil she had endured she still had such a positive outlook and kept a smile on her face. That is something that I think is such an important message.
Lex...oh lex. I loved him so much. He was such an amazing hero he was everything that Leyna needed. They are such a beautiful couple this love story amazed me. I loved the whole Taylor family they were all so relatable and loving.

OMG! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is first time reading a book from Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez. This book is OFF OF THE CHARTS!!!!! Once I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down! Love Above Law brings it all to the table: love, strength, family, and passion. Leyna was such an amazing and strong character, through all of the turmoil she went through. Lex is really devotion and drive to protect. Now I have to go back and read these two amazing authors other books. Keep up the amazing work! I HIGHLY recommend this one to EVERYONE!!!

Ok...seriously, this book needs to be made into a movie!! I found myself trying to control my legs as they bounced up and down in anticipation!...I was practically biting my nails!
Lex and Leyna are such a hot couple! It was exciting and sexy and hot and full of action!

Loved it . I absolutely love any books written from these two. These two are amazing writers who write such amazing books. Gripping from beginning to end. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.Characters have amazing chemistry. I absolutely love Leyna. Her character is so strong lovable and doesn't take no crap from anyone.She goes through so much but stays strong through it all. Love her and Lex. A great couple. Another great book from these two. Loved it. Highly recommend it.

This book will make you swoon so hard! You get so much more insight to Leyna's fiesty attitude and her desire to live, along with Lex's utter devotion and drive to protect.

This one didn’t really work for me. Everything was accelerated story wise and I’m sure that’s because it coincides with Gabriel and Alba’s book but it just felt like I was reading but nothing was really happening.
Just a lot of the next week, the next month, and it was just harder to get into.

What to say about Lex? I couldn’t put this book down! Lex and Leyna were a long awaited couple from the moment they were introduced together in Gabriel’s story! I never expected it to be so.... hot. And torturous. And angsty. This book damn near killed me and I want more of our beloved bikers.

Lex isnt one to chicken out the man likes to stay close to his woman, "you know better than to even suggest some *** like that, Leyna. Where you go, I go. I'm not worried about your brother or his friends." I liked this book, I loved that Lex was protective.

This ebook was really good. There is no cheating. The ex-girlfriend wouldn't go away an leave the hero alone but the heroine put in her place.

Loved this book! So happy for leyna and Lex. I was excited for their book after Alba and Gabriel’s book. Lex is Intense and very alpha. But he is respectable and cares about leyna. I love how he protects and is there for her. She is a firecracker and I love how she stands up for herself. Their steamy moments woah. Very hot. Love how alpha he is. Of course their relationship put strain between her and her brother mostly because she technically lied and kept everything a secret. So he felt betrayed especially because Lex is FBI. But when the shit hits the fan the kings protect their own. And I loved how they come to help Lex. Can’t wait for more.

Loved Leyna and Lex. It was nice to see their whole story instead of the bits and pieces from the other books. Leyna is Gabriel's little sister and was kidnapped from Cuba by Santino. He wanted to use her to get the Kings to work for him. Jake called in Special Agent Lex Taylor and he rescued Leyna. Lex was drawn to Leyna from the moment he laid eyes on her. The kept in touch via texts and calls and became close. Lex used his connections to get Leyna enrolled in college. After she is shot while trying to protect a pregnant Alba she decides to move in with Lex. I'm so happy they got their HEA because they both deserved to be happy.

„Liebe steht über dem Gesetz“ von Sandy Alvarez und Crystal Daniels ist ein gelungenes Spin-off ihrer Kings of Retribution Reihe, welches zeitlich parallel zum zweiten Band spielt.
Leyna lebt nach dem Tod ihrer Mutter allein in Kuba und arbeitet dort als Lehrerin. Doch eines Tages wird sie durch die Vergangenheit ihres Bruders Gabriel aus ihrem Leben gerissen und nach Montana entführt. Glücklicherweise gelingt es Gabriel und seinen Brüdern von den Kings of Retribution, für Leynas Sicherheit zu sorgen. An dem Befreiungseinsatz ist auch der FBI-Agent Lex Taylor beteiligt, der nach einem Blick auf Leyna weiß, dass er für diese Frau alles riskieren würde. In der folgenden Zeit nähern sich beide langsam an, aber durch Gabriels MC-Zugehörigkeit steht Lex auf der völlig anderen Seite des Gesetzes. Und dies soll nicht die einzige Schwierigkeit bleiben.
Ich liebe die Kings of Retribution Serie von Sandy Alvarez und Crystal Daniels. Wer die Bücher kennt, der hat auch sicher die kleine Lovestory von Leyna und Lex im Hintergrund des zweiten Teils mitbekommen. In diesem Buch erfährt man nun die gesamten Hintergründe und es ist schön, beide Charaktere besser kennenzulernen.
Leyna musste sich schon früh im Leben behaupten und vielen Widrigkeiten trotzen. Das hat sie außerordentlich stark und selbstbewusst gemacht und ich finde es großartig, dass sie so unabhängig ist. Dadurch bleibt sie mit Lex auf Augenhöhe und ist kein Püppchen, welches er in Watte packen muss. Obwohl es amüsant ist, wie er das trotzdem immer wieder versucht.
Lex ist eindeutig einer von den Guten und seine warmherzige und temperamentvolle italienische Familie lässt ihn noch liebenswerter erscheinen. Auch wenn es ihn quält, lässt er Leyna ihren Raum, und spätestens dann, verliebt man sich in seinen Charakter.
Die Story ist gefühlvoll und spannend aufgebaut, wie ich es an dieser Reihe mag. Für Fans der Kings würde ich dieses Spin-off unbedingt empfehlen.

An dem Befreiungseinsatz ist auch der FBI-Agent Lex Taylor beteiligt, der nach einem Blick auf Leyna weiß, dass er für diese Frau alles riskieren würde. In der folgenden Zeit nähern sich beide langsam an, aber durch Gabriels MC-Zugehörigkeit steht Lex auf der völlig anderen Seite des Gesetzes. Und dies soll nicht die einzige Schwierigkeit bleiben.
Ich liebe die Kings of Retribution Serie von Sandy Alvarez und Crystal Daniels. Wer die Bücher kennt, der hat auch sicher die kleine Lovestory von Leyna und Lex im Hintergrund des zweiten Teils mitbekommen. In diesem Buch erfährt man nun die gesamten Hintergründe und es ist schön, beide Charaktere besser kennenzulernen.
Leyna musste sich schon früh im Leben behaupten und vielen Widrigkeiten trotzen. Das hat sie außerordentlich stark und selbstbewusst gemacht und ich finde es großartig, dass sie so unabhängig ist. Dadurch bleibt sie mit Lex auf Augenhöhe und ist kein Püppchen, welches er in Watte packen muss. Obwohl es amüsant ist, wie er das trotzdem immer wieder versucht.
Lex ist eindeutig einer von den Guten und seine warmherzige und temperamentvolle italienische Familie lässt ihn noch liebenswerter erscheinen. Auch wenn es ihn quält, lässt er Leyna ihren Raum, und spätestens dann, verliebt man sich in seinen Charakter.
Die Story ist gefühlvoll und spannend aufgebaut, wie ich es an dieser Reihe mag. Für Fans der Kings würde ich dieses Spin-off unbedingt empfehlen.

Ok where do I even begin... These two AMAZING authors have done it again. I'm not even sure this review is going to do this book justice. This book has it all unforbidden love, mystery, and some amazing chemistry between the hero and heroine.
The unforbidden love is for the fact that Leyna is the sister to Gabriel who is in the MC Kings Of Retribution. Agent Lex Taylor is a part of the FBI so do you see the unforbidden part yet. The relationship between the two is a big source of contention between Leyna and her brother. Now with all of this being said Leyna is her own woman and knows what and who she wants. Lex being the strong alpha male knew the moment he saw the beautiful young lady that he was going to make her his. Now obviously I am not going to spill the beans on the mystery part, because I feel you need to read this book and find out for yourselves. As for the chemistry between the two if you have read any of the other books you know what I am talking about, and if you haven't well you are in for a very good surprise. These two authors know how to write a story and make you feel as if you are a part of it.

She is beautiful, smart, and feisty. Taking her to her brother's MC club was the hardest thing he has ever done. Luckily the phone he gave her to keep in touch brings them closer and closer. When Leyna is shot, she decides to start living and goes with Lex to Seattle. With a killer stalking women in Seattle, Lex has to balance his job and protecting Leyna. That should be easy right?

I hope we get to see glimpses of Lex and Leyna's life in future books as we have the members of the Kings. Riveting and hot, Love Above Law gets 5 stars from this happy reader!

WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET DEMETRI AND NIKOLAI’S BOOKS ? This one was okay but honestly it was boring, repetitive, and predictable. If you’ve read the Kings of Retribution MC Series than you will recognize that the h is the younger sister of Gabriel, the Enforcer for the MC. Lex Taylor is an FBI agent in Seattle, he has four younger sisters and his family is very close knit. He’s working to take down Miguel Santino, a horrible man who traffics women and drugs. Leyna is 23 years old, she lives in Cuba and teaches English. When she was a little girl her father took her older brother Gabriel and left in the middle of the night to the US. Both their parents are dead now and even though they haven’t seen each other in years her and Gabriel are very close. One night she comes home and finds three strange men in her house. One of them introduces himself as Miguel Santino, an acquaintance of her brother. He wants something from Gabriel and he’s gonna use her to get it. Miguel takes her from Cuba to Polson, Montana where Gabriel happens to live. Lex gets a call from Jake, the President of the Kings of Retribution with information on Miguel Santino. Lex rescues Leyna from Santino and brings her to her brother’s clubhouse. He wants her from the moment he first sees her but he’s in Seattle and she’s in Polson. The two of them start texting and calling each other in secret. When tragedy strikes and Leyna ends up in the hospital Lex is right by her side. Gabriel was such a dick to Leyna, everything that happened to her was because of him and he couldn’t even be happy for her.

Love love loved Love Above Law it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the Kings of retribution Mc or reading the darkest of light this takes place around the same time and it's about the heroines brother . I'm such a huge fan of Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels these two really know how to write a story that makes you fall for the characters and the flow of the books you are reading . Lex and Leyna are perfect for one another I couldn't wait to get my hands on their story and find out what was going on with them . This one has to be one of my favorites by the authors it just drew me into what was going on with the characters and hopefully we get to more of the characters that are introduced in this and more Lex and Leyna . Don't miss out on this fantastic story and while your at it on click all of the books by by Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels .

Holy cannoli the anticipation of Lex and Leyna’s story! This was the best extension story to The Kings of Retribution MC and was exceptionally delivered. There are so many layers of the book, and it also helped to provide a refresher of previous books and scenarios, as it had been a while since I had read the books that were set around the time of this one. The character growth and development is amazing – both Lex and Leyna grew both as individuals as well as together as a couple. It seemed as if Lex looked at the law very black and white in the beginning and through the book we see him realize that it’s not quite what he thought along with his actions after making that realization. I was amazed at how Leyna was able to really adapt from being kidnapped, to not going back to her home, and then leaving her brother for another unknown. And of course, them finding love together was a great addition to the story. The suspense of the book kept me on my toes and racing to read more to see if my predictions were correct. I can only continue to say great things about not only this book, but also all the books from this duo as a whole. Here’s to hoping they will extend this book and give Kai his own story?
