Charlie's life was perfect, until that one fateful night....
London girl, Charlie, has a great life; fab flat in Covent Garden, a satisfying career and great friends. She certainly doesn’t need a man to complete her. Her life couldn’t be better. Or could it?
Charlie’s life is about to change. From an episode of doggy incontinence to a vomit incident in the M&S food hall, life has some little mishaps planned for Charlie that lead to some BIG surprises.
With a fancy dress party looming, what begins as a drunken nightmare could turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to her.
CJ Morrow writes the kind of fiction she likes to read and since her taste is varied so are her books. She loves a romcom with a guaranteed happy ending, equally she loves a psychological thriller especially where the ending is a plausible shocker.
When she doesn't like what's going on in the world, she writes another one.
Word weaver, lover of things curious, unseen and unexplainable, general wordy person. Always watching and laughing, mostly at herself.
Cute, quaint and the perfect read during the holidays. Charlie has a hysterical one night rendezvous, which I think every girl can relate to at one point in time in their life (outside of the getting pregnant part). "Little Mishaps and Big Surprises" follows Charlie’s journey in a Bridget Jones 'esque way. Filled with a handsy boss, the best friend every girl wants to have, the one sister in law you love to hate, and the flat mates who always eats your food when you’re not home.
A very enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Enjoyed this book. It was a good romantic comedy, maybe a bit more comedy than romance, but warm nonetheless. I was laughing out loud in a few spots - unusual for me. Loved the author's character and background descriptions. I often felt I was actually in the room or local area being described... and right in with the characters' nonsense and carrying on. Romantic comedies as good as this book are hard to find. And, of course, the true test is do you want to put it down: I didn't. Looking forward to more.
A thoroughly enjoyable story with a very likeable main character and a satisfying ending. The image of her trying to get the Zippy costume up a narrow flight of stairs will stay with me for a while, as will the Herman/dildo incident (don't worry - Herman is a dog).
It starts with such a funny sequence of events that it grabs you right away. I truly enjoyed it thru the end and hate that it’s over now. Great escape book!
This book was great front to back! I’ve just finished the book and I already miss Charlie! This was a great story and I hated to put it down for frivolous things like work and sleeping!
Likeable and interesting characters throughout the story. And the story was well paced, kept me riveted even though some aspects were a little predictable. I'd read it again just for fun.
Charming story with all the best elements of a satisfying girlie read.
So enjoyed reading this light hearted fun book. Interesting modern day dilemma ‘s with fun heart warming and romantic conclusions to the situations. Would encourage gal pals to read this for escapism on a rainy day indoors or a lazy day by the pool.
I really enjoyed reading about Charlie and her never ending quest for perfection. Just when she thought she was too old too meet the man of her dreams, one fateful night it all changed! I couldn't put this book down, I just had to read on to find out what happens!
I really enjoyed this story and gave it 4 stars. Story revolves around what happens to Charlie after her one night stand .Story tells of relationships. Friendships and family .It also shows how very different life can alter from one year to the next ..I enjoyed the flow of the book and also the storyline this is the first time I've read a book by this author so will try out a few other titles now .A good relaxing easy read .
This book was paced well. It was a slow build from start to finish! It was not rushed in any way ( which I applaud). It was engaging from the beginning and had me hooked right up till the end. I wanted more and for me that’s a hard thing to since I read so much. Fantastic job!
This weekend I was looking for a book to read while enjoying a bit of sun time in the garden. This was just what I wanted. A bit of fun, lots of comedy, office politics and the unexpected gem of romance. Perfect for me! Thanks CJ x
This was a fun book to read. I really liked the characters. It goes to show you that life may not always go the way you want it and maybe that is for the best.
Good read. Loved English humor. I can't believe I read a romance novel without explicit love scenes what a wonderful treat. Enjoyed very much. Bravo C.j.Morrow.
