Ya gotta tip your cap to a well written mystery, even if somewhat dated and with a very intricate plot, and one that revolves around the psychology of the parties involved rather than with action per se. This was a very complex mystery and the author's gift for description pulls you into this village's world. There's a lot going on and the tension never lets up.
