The shocking conclusion to the Moonfire Trilogy.

Lana han Chevonian is one of the world's brightest minds on the brink of making a huge discovery. There is only one problem: she is stuck as prisoner in the harem of the Aranian king. She could try to escape and run the risk of getting re-captured or getting killed on the very long and difficult road back home to Chevakia, or she could win the favour of the king, beg to be allowed to use the famed library and promise Arania credit for her work.

Meanwhile, war is about to break out between Aranian armies with icefire weapons and Chevakian armies wanting to wipe those weapons off the face of the earth.

Lana's discovery turns the understanding about icefire on its head, but no one is listening. They're on course to destroy everything that's keeping the world alive.

This fantastic dystopian series has come to an end, and I could not imagine a more epic conclusion.
The danger of coming war became more real, and both Chevakia and Peria must form an alliance against the raging violence of aranian princes who desire to take the throne and defeat their opponents. But there are major changes on the horizon, and not everyone is willing to accept them... Javes came back to Tiverius, closing his quest and deciding his future life. Lana decided to take her capture and new position in Mother´s House as an opportunity to change a whole country. King Isandor went on a rescue mission to get his fiancée back, and even Jevaithi drops all pretenses and becomes finally herself.
Though the final installment was quite extensive, I cannot imagine it being shorter because it would definitely not cover all the issues. For a long time, we were following the fates of several protagonists in parallel without the obvious connection, but now that it came to an end, there is a mastermind plot uncovered and all the puzzle pieces are making sense.
The book was written brilliantly, smooth-flowing and fast pacing, keeping the suspense and mystery on high level so I went on and on until the last page. Development and events are natural, realistic and the detailed world-building sets the story into enchanting landscapes. The political machinations are also very well constructed and give the book a real feel.
I loved the main characters and observing their development. Lana became mature, grown-up woman with grandiose ambitions and confidence no less than necessary to make her dreams come true. Javes found his happiness in the least expected place. Isandor fought hard to establish his own family and protect his country, and Jevaithi finally started to act reasonably and follow her instincts and feelings.
Action-packed story with a variety of emotions, dangers, suspense and drama that is a must-read for all fans of dystopian books. Awesome climax of fascinating series!

As with the first trilogy there are typos and spelling mistakes but they do not deter the storytelling at all. This set of books is further into the future than the last three so ends are wrapped up and things explained that were left up in the air. It is a book to make you think about many different ways of living. I engoyed it very much.
