It only got good at the end. I prefer Aline Komisky's work over R. Crumbs and I think I was disappointed because I envisioned that this collection was going to focus on their move to France and raising their daughter.

I found this book disappointing. The Complete Dirty Laundry Comics does give us a look into the personal lives of Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Robert Crumb from 1974 to 1992, but I didn’t find the material to be particularly funny or entertaining. Things got more interesting once the couple and their daughter moved to France, but the project ended soon after that. I wouldn’t recommend this an introduction to R. Crumb’s work.

I love the mix in these comics of Robert Crumb and Aline Kominsky-Crumb and then even Sophia later drawing herself. I love how honest Aline is in ther comics, when she talks about the negative reactions readers had to her sharing the page with her husband. As admirable as Robert Crumbs's art is, I love Aline's emotional frankness in every shaky, wavering line.

I know, it's a total classic of underground comics. Liked the thought. One issue of Dirty Laundry would have been enough for me.
