She had one rule: never sleep with someone twice. Then Faith Hitchin met Elijah Fairclough and the Baroness’ son with the heart of an artist scorched her rule out of existence.
Until he shattered her heart.
Burned and hurting Faith battles to regain control of the protective barriers she keeps around her heart. But when two souls meet with the passion and Fire of artist and muse, walking away may not be an option.
When Faith’s last rule smashes and takes them both down with it, there may be tears of glass neither of them can survive.
Romance without limits! A book hoarder and coffee addict at heart Anna's main existence in life is to create beautiful words about exquisitely flawed characters. She's a slow burn Princess and all about working for that happy ever after, but she guarantees when you get it, you'll fall so hard you might never want to surface again. Be prepared to oooh and aaah and squeal with delight as Anna takes you on a journey you are unlikely to forget. Anna lives at in Surrey, the UK, with her husband and three children. She happiest writing (thinking of ways to make you swoon), drinking coffee and snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings for a binge of her favourite shows or reading in bed. She loves to chat with her readers on social media so if you love the words come and find her, she sure loves to talk.
"He's a man broken and in pieces. Burning and drowning all at once. Shadows and light, pain and joy. Night and day. Two men at war with one another."
Leaving us with a cliffhanger like the one in Tears of Ink the sequel couldn't come fast enough for me. So I dove into the pages like a starving wolf into it's prey. And I devoured Tears of Glass from the beginning right through the end.
" I never want to have a second chance with you, because I want everything to be a first, forever."
Even if I thought it's not possible, I fell deeper in love with Elijah and Faith. Both challenge you as a reader on different levels and sometimes you catch yourself shaking your head but still root for this certain character. The chemistry between Faith and Elijah never looses its appeal or chemistry. However it changes. It changes right along with the characters who you see grow through the story. I love the way Elijah takes care of Faith and pushes her in the right direction with only so much as nudging her.
""I've been existing my whole life until the day I met you. Now I want to live.""
The way Faith finds her way back to Elijah and starts over her life and career as an artist is inspiring. Not knowing what you want out of your life but with the right nudges you at least try and then you find something beautiful again.
Even though the story itself is not as thrilling as the first book, it captures your heart and depends on your love for its characters.
""I never wanted to be on your skin." Our eyes lock. "Everything that ever made me feel is on my skin.""
Tears of Glass is a fantastic sequel to Tears of Ink with wonderful character development and that shows a second chance at love is totally worth fighting for. And if you might have guessed, this book also ends with a cliffhanger that leaves your eyes wide open asking: WHY? Why now?
So what does the author have in store for Faith and Elijah and how will they deal with the challenge ahead? Can't wait to read Tears of Gold soon!
Oh, holy cow. What can I EVEN say about this book?? First, that I'm mad at myself for taking a while to read it--because it's seriously one of the best books I've devoured so far in 2019. Second, that I'm happy I read the first book--because this one picks up fairly shortly after that incredible cliffie ending. But this is such an amazing sophomore effort from Ms. Bloom, and I'm thrilled and excited about where she's going to take this couple next. I have to say that I was extremely fond of them in Book 1, but in THIS book, I fell head over heels in love with them. In the first few chapters, I wasn't sure I was going to. Elijah did something seriously awful in Book 1, and it doesn't get explained right away in this book. When the explanation does come, it's then Faith who starts in with the stubborn, teenage recalcitrance. But thank God for a hero like Eli, who doesn't just call her on that crap, but dives in on proving how really wrong her mindset is. It just made me want to wrap that man up and take him home! This is a hero we ALL need: not just protective and strong and loyal, but the kind of man who will rise above himself to ask what his woman really needs, to the point of making true self-sacrifices. I can't begin to describe how much I adored him through this book. The last act of the story is going to rip your heart out, so be prepared. I am waiting on pins and needles for Book 3!
Tears of Glass is the second book in the series and continues where Tears of Ink ends so you must read the books in order. I’ve been desperate to get my hands on this second book because I needed to know what happens next. I found it (just like with the first book) very hard to put my kindle down. I had absolutely no idea where the story was going to take Faith and Elijah and I thought the author continued their story perfectly. We know the past that Faith has had, we know the man that Eli is, and I was aware that forgiving Eli was going to be hard if not impossible for Faith to do.
I felt I got to know Elijah’s siblings more in this book, in particular Tabitha who I had grown very fond of in Tears of Ink. We learn more about the man Eli is and I think I fell a little bit more in love with him. You will have seen what his family is like in the first book so I really felt for him, since he was having to deal with them as well as everything else that was going on in his life. Faith I really felt for at many points in the book. She has ways of protecting herself from possible future hurt and I totally understand why after everything she has been through in her short life. She broke my heart at times as I don’t want her past to define her.
Faith and Eli’s connection is fabulous. The storyline is perfect. I enjoyed the twists and turns that materialised. I am over the moon that there will be a third book so the story can continue, and I feel it is going to get very interesting indeed. I felt there was lots of emotions that ticked all the boxes for me…. heat, angst, love, sadness and laughter too. Another fabulous must read.
I am absolutely in love with this series. The way that Eli and Faith just about explode every time their around each other is amazing! The push and pull between them is electric. The cliff hanger from book one makes you want to hate Eli, leaves you heart broken, not to mention the loss of Faiths family. Heading into this part of their lives it’s not easy to open up to Eli, but you can’t help but to root for them to be together. The whole time your yelling “take him back, no! What’s wrong with you!” It’s a push and pull!!! I couldn’t put it down!! With Eli’s family against her, Faith has to try to figure out where she stands in his life and that’s not an easy task.
For lord's sake! What a book! I am left breathless and aching for more. Anna Bloom blew my mind with this masterpiece. Tears of Glass consumed me slowly until I lost my mind and heart. I was addicted and highly obsessed! It had me glued to my kindle all night until I finished. Damn it! This book is explosive with so many twists and turns that make you stay all the time at the edge of your seat. It has the right amount of suspense, drama and passion. The story of Faith and Elijah is tattooed in my heart since I read the first pages of Tears of Ink, the first installment in this series so when I started Tears of Glass I forgot about the world around me. I devoured every page like a ravenous book addict also I was afraid to finish this book because I suspected it will destroy me (in the best way possible) and I wasn’t wrong. It not only destroyed me, it also left me with a BIG book hang over. How may I recover after reading such magisterial masterpiece?
Anna Bloom delivered a strong and deep book as the second installment of her Tears of Ink Series. The first book shattered me into many small pieces, the second one put all those pieces back together and I hope that the third book make me whole and stronger just as Faith. It seems like Anna Bloom’s books always turns into GOLD! All I can think right now is about this series. Tears of Glass made my insides liquefy into molten lava. Everything about this book screams perfection in capital letters. It is shadows and light, pain and joy, fight and conquest. It is hot and alluring, forbidden and tempting, intoxicating... and so oh so good! The story of Faith and Elijah will get under your skin, seeping into your soul until you completely lost yourself.
Faith's one rule has been broken and her heart was also broken by the man who has an artistic soul as her. The man who tempted and seduced her. The man who lied in order to protect her. The man who can fix her even when she is not a princess who need to be saved. She has been fighting all her life, covering herself in ink and now it is time for her to open up like a rosebud opening its petals when the sun arise high in the sky. Faith reminds me of an English Rose because it needs a lot of care so it can bloom in the spring and Elijah reminds me of the sun, warm and ruthless, beaming bright sunlight to create and protect life.
Elijah and Faith are from different worlds but perfect for each other. Elijah changed Faith making her feel more and even with out him she changed opening herself to let in feelings and emotions that were denied to her. She was chased by dark and Elijah give her the light to fight her demons. Maybe. Just maybe, they as messed as they are can save one another.
The first installment in the series is all smoke and mirrors and Tears of Glass tastes like twisted and forbidden redemption. It brakes every rule! The drama, passion and dynamic of Faith and Elijah add so many feels and emotions to the story that it is impossible not to love it. The storyline unfolded brilliantly and each page will intrigue you more and more until you devour this book. The development of the bound of the main characters is astounding and the ups and downs create the imperfectly perfect romance readers crave. Ana Bloom has penned an epically and tempting masterpiece.
After reading Tears of Ink by Anna Bloom I was in awe of her words, her inspiration, and her magic with writing real, raw characters! Tears of Glass continues to draw me into her world where Faith and Elijah map out their new reality among the tears of glass. After breaking all her rules, Faith is once again reminded of why she cannot trust anyone, except Al, Dan, and Abi. With Al gone, her trust circle is down to two. How could she go back on her word? Did she really love Elijah? Had she heard him say he loved her? Why does the shard of glass have to be so beautiful, so blue? Faith wallows in her own mess only to come face to face with just how others see her and how they truly feel about her. This is a book I won't soon forget! I will be recommending this duet to everyone I know!! Love it!
What a beautifully written, heart wrenching, twisting, emotional follow on to Tears of Ink this was (and another stunning cover). I loved it and felt the tears, anger and pain, their passion and love the whole way through.
After the shocking ending in the previous book, I needed answers. How shattered was Faith's heart and soul? What the hell was Eli thinking, let alone doing? We all know how messed up his family is, but had he finally broken too? Eli has a long journey to repair what he broke, to try and get a second chance from a woman who trusts very few and doesn't go back. It's going to take a special man, but Eli has a huge heart and he'll need every bit to earn forgiveness, not just from Faith but me too!
This book gripped me from the start, needing to know what came next. Sometimes I wanted to tear my hair out and shake Faith for some of the choices and decisions she makes, her refusal to stay and fight. But I get her, I really do and her reasons, but Elijah is a beautiful soul, truly a man worth fighting for, he'll never give up on her, if only she can face and fight her past once and for all.
Anna Bloom and this series has been one of my top finds this year. These characters, Faith and Elijah have burrowed their way into my heart, not just each other's. I highly recommend this book, although you need to start with book one - 5 stars
This is a great series! At the end of the first book I was so mad at Eli, but hoped they could overcome all of the hurdles in their way and just be together. I have to say Eli didn't stop pulling out the stops to win her back. This series is extremely well-written and evokes a lot of emotion throughout! There were some twists and turns I didn't see coming and can't wait to see how they handled their latest hurdle in the third book! Highly recommend!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
After the dramatic ending of Tears of Ink, I was more than eager to dive into Tears of Glass. I needed more of the characters I had come to love so much, I needed more of the drama that hooked me, and I needed it as soon as possible. Thus, I was more than willing to dive into Tears of Glass and devour it in no time at all.
At first I was a wee bit worried I would not enjoy Tears of Glass as much as I enjoyed Tears of Ink. It was enjoyable, yes, but it wasn’t quite to the same level of intensity. Once the story really started to move, once all the different elements started to come to light, I found myself hooked. There is just as much depth with this one, if not more so with some aspects of the story, guaranteeing I was hooked throughout.
We dig deeper into the past, we get more of the current drama, and the possibilities for the future will leave you more than willing to pick up the third book. With more of the characters we came to adore in book one, with more of the chemistry that leaves you hooked on every page, this second book in the series is a wonderful addition to a fabulous tale.
Although the ending wasn’t quite what I’d been hoping for and expecting, it has certainly left me eager for the third book. Our characters are going to face new challenges, and I cannot wait to see how it plays out.
This is book two in this series. Truthfully,I didn’t know what to expect,I’m just rooting for them. Both of them are so beautiful,so hurt and so annoying.... Faith - a very frustrating personality, behaviour that you will like to shake her and yell She is endearing, she is artist but unfortunately her past is hunting her. Looks like she can’t move forward. The walls she build up are falling down and she has to let it go. Will she,can she? Eli is no different - just speak to one another before making crazy decisions! Stubborn foul in love.. Their story is compelling, their chemistry off the charts but is this enough for HEA I would like to know more about Elijah family and his sister. Now he is responsible for whole family Next book can’t come soon enough.....
This is the second book in the series so make sure you read Tears of Ink first. After that cliffhanger I couldn’t wait to read this and I’m delighted I wasn’t disappointed.
Eli and Faiths story continues and what a story it is too. These two are such fantastic characters. Two totally different kinda people yet they are so good together.
This is a brilliant read. We get to read more of their past so we get to know them more. This is one brilliant roller coaster of a story that I absolutely loved. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
If you enjoy a struggling, damaged heroine, this book is for you. My frustration with Faith is her coping mechanism is to run, not saying that she doesn't have cause but her one and done mentality aggravated me. This book picks up where the first book ends, Faith running away from complications, the first half of the book she refused to hear anything about he shall not be named, even when others try to point out misunderstandings. I know it was in her character but I wanted to yell get over already-I wanted the story to shift gears quicker. Even when Eli knocks through her walls she still falls back to flight, no fight. Even though I wanted the pace to be quicker I still needed to finish the book, which leads into the next book. A very emotional back and forth read.
TEARS OF GLASS is the second book in a duet and cannot be read as a standalone.
I finished Tears of Ink a little gobsmacked, I mean what a cliffhanger! I was not happy with Elijah at all... but oh boy, did he redeem himself in TEARS OF GLASS.
TEARS OF GLASS is about second chances, taking chances, making changes, two people from different backgrounds and social circles who are drawn to each other. I was transfixed with the plot.
I like a woman with backbone and Faith had that but at times that woman really pressed on my nerves, Elijah proved to be one of the good ones, time and time again he gave me swoon-worthy moments, but Faith is stubborn, struggling to change her ways and thankfully and finally (hallelujah) she begins to let him in, begins to let others in, she's a tough nut to crack.
This is a story filled with suspense, heartwarming moments, hotness and complex characters, it has it all and the plot is unique, I can't say I have met characters quite like Faith or Elijah in any of my previous reads. Anna Bloom balanced everything out brilliantly, I turned the pages with vigor wanting to know how all this pans out and was quite happy with the outcome.
Told In First person pov and leads to a hfn. Anna Bloom is a British author and I loved how she kept the theme British, Faith shopped at Tesco on a regular, I loved that about this book, so many British authors adapt things to please a wider audience and loved how Anna didn't adapt her words or change place names, these are British characters living in or near London and this book gives you a good feel for that which aids the imagination for those who are not familiar with British mannerisms, places, terminologies etc, just like it would a British person reading a book based in the U.S. I am looking forward to more in this series, I have enough interest in the extended characters and a curiosity about how it will all go down at Bowsley Hall with the Baroness and questions over who will be the next Heir? Very exciting stuff to come.
ARC RECEIVED FOR REVIEW PURPOSES TEARS OF INK by Anna Bloom
“I never wanted to be on your skin.” Our eyes lock. “Everything that ever made me feel is on my skin.”
And the story of Eli and Faith continues with all of its heart break, hope and tears. After the devastating ending of Tears of Ink Faith has lost her way, reverting to only her only coping mechanism, relying on her learned behaviours that she had worked so hard to overcome. Running back to everything that was once familiar and was once home Faith makes some dubious choices before she sees the damage she is causing to herself and importantly to those she loves the most. Not believing in herself leads her down a dark path but Eli refuses to let her drown in her doubts and once again champions the woman that holds the shards of his heart so carelessly in the palm of her hands. No trust. No faith. No truth. They cause more heart ache and pain than anyone should endure and honestly this story captivated me with their longing and need. At times Faith was so despondent and blind to the love that emanates from Eli that I wanted to shake her but her past still has its sharpened claws firmly under her skin. Eli as always is shrouded in the family mystery and secrets that are yet to be revealed. Yet he is so strong and determined, fighting for his love and to be who he truly wants to be after years of repression and towing the line for appearances sake. But can the lies and deceit tear them apart once and for all?
Again with the ending that left me hungry for more, thankfully the wait is mercifully short and I will get all the answers to my questions soon! A haunting, melancholy story that has left me hoping that they all find what they are searching for and find their happiness.
"This isn’t about seconds. It’s about all the firsts." This ends on a bit of a twisty cliffhanger 😳 leaving me concerned as to what this will mean for the future of our couple. They have both lost enough and have overcome so many obstacles. "I give him a small smile, but I can’t say I accept his apology. I don’t give second chances. Not to anyone." I will admit I was a bit upset with Faith though Eli probably could have handled things a whole lot better as well. Faith tries to come to terms with her past and what the future holds for her if she is only willing to let go and move forward. The question is can she find herself before she falls into despair? Will her choices and fears cost her Eli? There are so many secrets revealed in Tears of Glass and I felt as though I was constantly on edge - At the turn of every chapter was a new hurdle or twist tossed into the story - Oh, and I think one of the OMG 😲 moments wasn't an accident! 😥 This is the second book in the series and it is NOT a standalone
After reading the ending to Tears of Ink I was seriously wondering how Eli was going to redeem himself. That and I was so concerned about Faith! I have to say, I fell even more in love with Eli as the story progresses. Not only did he redeem himself but he went above and beyond to prove his love to Faith. I also grew to love Faith even more. The wall around her heart slowly fell and she started letting people in. What I didn't like was Dan. I originally liked him in Tears of Ink but I lost that love in this story. I also LOATH Faith's dad. That man is horrible! This book was everything when it came to the growth of Eli and Faith. It shows how love can grow and how people can overcome all the pain and horror of their past with love from the right person. Not to mention that ending AGAIN!! I'm looking forward to Tears of Gold and Eli and Faith's HEA!! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
I am reviewing this series instead of just each book. This three book series is now one of my favorite.
I have to say I have read one other book besides this series and I completely in love with Anna Bloom's style of reading. I love how relatable her stories are, not boring and they just totally suck you in.
Faith & Elijah story is full of heart break & pain from previous hurts. Faith has dealt with a lot since she was a kid. Her mother left when she was young, her dad didn't really bother. Bad thing happened to her & stuff spiraled from there. She never let anyone in... Well fully in until Rich, snobby at first Elijah. He turned stuff around, they didn't have it easy, he is rich and royalty basically. She from the bad side of town & covered in tattooed. They have wild ride from the start, with twist and turns and heart breaks... Will they get their happy ending or will past & present situations tear them apart. Read this series (Book 1-3) you won't he disappointed!
What did I just read? I finished this in one sitting and I still have no idea what I read. I’m kind of in shock with this series. I was absolutely left floored with the first book and the second? It was like a wrecking ball to my heart, like my heart legit hurt reading some of the pages in this book. This author has some great power with words that I’m still not over reading them. My mind is completely blank after that last chapter and I know that I’m going to be anxiously awaiting the release of the third book. I love this series, it’s one that I’ll have no trouble recommending because Faith and Elijah? Magical.
I couldn’t wait to jump into more of Faith and Eli. These two characters feel like personal friends now and to witness the growth in their relationship was so endearing. That’s not to say they had didn't have their struggles along the way, and Ms Bloom expertly navigates the reader through all the twists and turns, making you connect and love these characters more. There were plenty of moments, I sat with a big loved up smile on my face, especially when Faith & Eli finally make their peace, but god did my eyes fly open wide in shock, when one mahoosive curveball is thrown in! I’m now itching to get hold of the next book!
After the cliffhanger at the end of Tears of Ink I have been waiting for this one, ready to see Eli redeem himself! He had to right? of course he did! I had an inkling about a horrible thing Faith would do and I was right, although I have been reassured by Anna Bloom that all will be made well in a future book.
Tears of Glass is a second chance book. Faith had started to grow and open up in the first book but now she's starting to grow more. She's not shutting people out once she's over the pain, shes open to give them second chances. I loved watching her blossom but she did annoy me occasionally and I did want to shake her.
Whilst I started off hating Eli, plotting his painful demise, I fell back in love with him quickly. Yes I know I am fickle but he was totally swoon-worthy and he was so patient with Faith.
This is definitely my favourite series from Anna. She has given me characters I am addicted to and love, she had made me laugh, cry and swoon, (sometimes at the same time). The fact that this is based in London, at places I know I really felt a bond with it. I love London.
Again after the way this instalment has been left I am waiting eagerly for the next one. The ending completely shocked me, it wasn't what I expected but this is what I love from Anna. She gives you great twists that shock you and leave you wanting more NOW!
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the author and Bare Naked Words
Wow can we say intense! Eli and Faith are explosive in this story. They complete the other and yet they cause so much heart ache as they grow in their relationship. There is so much drama going on with some curveballs as well. Will they finally get their happily ever after?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG.....reading this book definitely make me emotionally like riding a roller coaster..I can't get enough with Eli and Faith story..how two broken soul try to be strong, perfect and deserve for each other to stand together faced the world...I thought they got their HEA in here and I definitely didn't expect for the third book but its totally worth the wait though
It starts off where tears of ink finished (😭) and the rollercoaster of emotions starts from the very first page until the very last!! Fast becoming one of my favourite authors!
Following faith and Elijahs relationship through everything from loss to surviving heart break too, you can’t help but feel everything!
After the cliffhanger in Tears of Ink, I was doubtful that Eli could redeem himself. As much as I’ve warmed to Faith, she is stubborn and quite cold at times (which is to be expected, given her past). I can’t quite forgive her for her actions at the beginning of this sequel, which I had a sneaking suspicion would come to fruition. I was sceptical that this instalment wouldn’t live up to its predecessor, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book and couldn’t put it down. I now have to cross my fingers that these two will get their HEA. I do also love the fact that this book is brilliantly British. It’s refreshing and as I’m familiar with Brighton, Hampshire and London, I love it all the more. My only criticism were the occasional editing errors 😤. Failing that, I love this series, can’t wait for Tears of Gold. Eli is my new book boyfriend!!!
DNF. I really tried to finish it but I felt it was too slow and a bit boring. The first book was an entertaining read but in this one I did not like how the dynamic between Faith and her best friend changed. And this is a personal thing, but I don’t enjoy the miscommunication trope. I also didn’t like the FMC in this book.
⭐️⭐️ Finished the book, but it had serious plot holes, felt rushed, or things i couldnt overlook. I do not like these books, and there are several elements that make them unpleasant. I still find these books decent enough to read, but for the most part, I really did not like them.
