good gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. the writing for this book is the definition of telling not showing and LITERALLY NOT TO MENTION THE FACT that the author explained to me what a podcast was and why it was so important and better than blog posts. Very informative on subjects just not what i wanted in a fiction novel.

DNF Chapter 18.
The writing didn't appeal to me. Varied between her and his POV from chapter to chapter. The Heroes voice sounded feminine and like the Heroines. And there was too much telling instead of showing. Lost interest.

Jackson is a billionaire that lives a lonely private reclusive life thanks to his past. Harley is just trying to get by in the big city. When her debts get to be to much she takes on another job. Her past forces them to meet. That one meeting turns both their lives upside down. Jackson breaks rules that he hasn’t in years thanks to her. She doesn’t know what Jackson’s past holds to make him this way. She doesn’t press the issue either. There is a attraction that’s pulling them to one another. Is this because they feel that they’re both broken. They help one another overcome some fears and anxiety. Jackson doesn’t know all about Harley’s past, but he will soon. Will this make their bond stronger or break them?

Wow what a page turner! This book sucked me right in. I was super excited to get to read this book early, and I can't wait to read the next one. This is a very intense and steamy read you don't want to miss. I highly recommend.
Jackson is a man that is definitely not a people person but he will make an exception for the beautiful and captivating Harley. The chemistry between these two are freaking off the charts hot, and you won't be disappointed.

This was a good start to the series. Jackson is a wealthy man. However, he doesn't like to go out. Harley is a poor woman trying to make ends meet. She has a man after her and because of his actions she ends up being saved by Jackson. They both have secrets and judging by the next books blurb things will get interesting.

Definitely not one of Charlottes better books. Lots of details are skipped. Time line is literally jumping all over the place. Lots of confusion about who actually did what when. This was just a huge flop for me.
Harley, the h, is struggling financially in NY (med bill and roommate moved out). She gets a 2nd job waitressing where she gets kidnapped by her stalker who happens to be her Uber driver. She escapes and runs to Jackson, the H, house where he eventually saves her. They then dont see each other again until about two weeks later when he places a job opening at his company to apologize for him being rude to her and not saving her sooner. She answers the ad and winds up working for him.
H is supposed to be some recluse billionaire who hasn’t left his house in 4 years.
Less than 48hrs of working together, they’ve been to a party together and have had sex where she blurts out to him (the very next day) she was a virgin. He just smiles and says okay like it was no big deal.
Confusion #1
Day 1 of working together, h starts working at 10am. She says she’s worked non-stop until her lunch break at 1pm. Literally, the very next line says she worked for a couple of hours to take a break at noon.
Ummm... what????

Day 1 of working together, H says he’ll send people to her to get her ready for the party. Hair, makeup, dress, jewelry. The night of the party, h said she did her own makeup and hair that she did with her bestie.
So which one is it? Because at this point, I don’t think even the author knows what she’s doing anymore. I bought the whole series too! Wish I could get a refund.

What a way to start the series...
Charlotte Byrd has delivered another fantastic read that you won't want to put down. Harley is a down-on-her-luck content writer who runs into a bit of trouble from her past, which sends her directly onto Jackson's doorstep, which is the last place he wants her to be. Jackson is a reclusive billionaire who has been unable to leave his residence for years due to past trauma and has been running his billion-dollar company from home without having to meet anyone face to face for years. When Harley lands on his doorstep while in danger, Jackson is forced to act quickly in order to save her life. What neither of them could expect is that the experience would draw them together in a way that would change their lives in the best way. But overcoming the obstacles of their own anxieties and traumas is easier said than done and the two must decide to either face them together or remain emotionally stunted apart. While the story ended on a cliffhanger, Charlotte never makes us wait very long for the next installment and I can't wait to read book 2 as soon as possible.

This first book in the new Tangled Series by Charlotte Byrd has me already intrigued. First we have Harley Burke who has moved from the west to NYC for a change after life has dealt her and her family some tough blows and grief they will never recover from. She has managed to survive on her own, basically living paycheck to paycheck, but some unforseen expenses have sunk her and she is now at her wits end.
Jackson Ludlow, a billionaire in NYC, has lived like a recluse for the past 4 years due to a tragedy that has scarred him both inside and out. He is cold and unemotional and doesn't interact with people. He also feels he will never recover from his grief.
A stalking incident puts Harley at Jackson's door and the two meet. It is the first actual in person face to face interaction Jackson has had in 4 years! There's just something about Harley that piqued Jackson's interest. The same for Harley. And when these two start working together, you can feel the sexual tension between them! I loved it!!! But both have so many secrets in their past we have to figure out. And then BOOM! A cliffy!! We need the next book like NOW! This is going to be such an intense series!!!

A good beginning for a tangled up love story
Everyone's life has a baggage and Tangled up in Ice is a story of two people who too many baggages. Harley and Jackson, two people from two different world have their own scars in the past. Harley tries to move past it in her struggling life to make a living while Jackson has just closed up himself in his big mansion in the city, away from the world and people. Their story begins when a stalker who was behind Harley for long confronts her and she runs to Jackson's doorsteps. Their feeling and lives gets tangled up the very moment they meet and their journey begins.
This book was really very amazing, it made me sit up at the edge and yeah left me cliffhanging at the end but I'm eagerly waiting for the next book Tangled up in pain, to read. I very much liked the way, the author, Charlotte Byrd described the lives of the leads in the beginning. Instead of starting at the hospital, she gradually introduced the characters of the book and then took off the story. That was one of the main things I loved about this book. The pain, the emotions where explained raw and I was completely caught up in the story.
I loved this book and reviewing it voluntarily from the ARC, I received.

An easy read, a good surprise.
The first chapters show us two people who seem totally different (family, house, expectations from life, she's the light he's the shadow) then they show us they have a lot in common (fears, demons, pain...). These first chapters introduce our heroes with their thoughts and maybe that was too much monologues and the story begins a little late in the book.
Jackson is like a ghost in his big mansion, never going outside or talking face to face with people. I hurt for him but i never cried. The author succeeds to make us understand him and feel for him without pouring on the pathos.
Harley is lovely and full of life but wears pain deep inside. She hides it really well and she's admirable. She's also really sensitive and sees the beauty inside Jackson. The fact she's a virgin at 26 is soooo déjà vu. The fact Jackson didn't realise it seems a little unrealistic, and his lack of reaction when she told him too.
But they both bring strengh and hope and beauty in the life of the other.
The book ends with a cliffangher but not the kind i expected.

Don't let the number of pages in this page-turner discourage you from reading! Get in at the beginning of a series which is certain to keep you entertained till the last page in the last book is read! Anyone who has read this author before knows that this is not a series to pass up, and if you are new to Charlotte Byrd, you absolutely will NOT be disappointed. No spoilers in this review because you REALLY need to read this book, however, here's the only WARNING: Cliff hanger ahead! Her characters and storylines are well developed and gripping, and this book is no exception, enveloping you into the story and making you feel like you're there and know the characters. Plenty of steam and chemistry between the two main players, secrets, drama, and you just plain won't want to put this one down! Join Jackson and Harley both broken and in need of repair and they find each other in this non-stop ride and intro to an amazing new series. I am presenting my unsolicited honest review after reading an ARC of this book.

I received this book for an honest review. WOW!!! Charlotte Byrd has done it again with the beginning of this thrilling intense series of Tangled Up in Ice. The story and characters pull you in from the first chapter as the reader observes that nothing is as it seems. Two tortured souls come together; Jackson is a recluse billionaire with anxiety issues who happens to save Harley from an unwanted stalker. When these two come together their chemistry/passion is instantaneous as Jackson decides he needs to see Harley again and offers her a job that she so desperately needs. Now they find that they are healing each other from the demons of their pasts. We are left with questions as to what will happen to this couple when secrets are revealed. Once again Charlotte takes her readers on a journey that will have you on edge until the last page as we have to wait for book 2. This is a must and I highly recommend this book.

Wasted an hour of my life on this book. The first few chapters were ok, it started to go downhill when the Harley and Jackson 'met', I cannot for the life of me understand how a person can live in house and not step foot outside his front door or have human contact for four years then suddenly become enraptured with a strange woman to the point where he places a fake want ad just to apologize for being a minute to long opening his door, I do not understand his sudden obsession, the dialogue between them seemed forced, Harley claims to be shy and introverted yet she was very quick tempered to the point of being rude, also she was stalked yet agreed to meet a strange man and have dinner with him in his house a couple weeks after being practically abducted by said stalker not to mention have sex with him practically right of the bat and he didn't even realize she was a virgin, how in the hell......
