Sawtooth Shifters #2

Her Guardian Wolf

Rate this book
A scarred soldier. A wolf born to fight for his survival. Together they’ll find peace—if they can beat their own demons.
Kiera grew up in a man’s world and has the scars to prove it. First as the only girl in a family full of brothers, and then in the Army’s EOD unit. She’s working at Forever Home animal shelter as rehabilitation for her PTSD, and these animals are about to change her life. But it’s a rescued werewolf that sees her in a way no one else ever has.
All Baron Channing knows is war. His family has protected Sawtooth Forest for generations, but now a rival pack has them at their mercy. They’ve got Keira in their crosshairs, and Baron’s been assigned to guard the women who saved him and his brothers from a fighting ring.
Baron’s tired of violence, and if his pack will survive this attack, they’ll have to fight harder than they ever have before. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep the incredible woman he’s been assigned to protect safe and make her his mate.

Kristen Strassel is far cooler than she’ll make herself sound in this bio. She enjoys spending time with the voices in her head—nudging the characters toward those bad decisions and a happily ever after. When she’s not writing, she’s often still in the land of make-believe—doing makeup for film and television. And when she’s not doing any of that, she enjoys making her house look like a Pinterest board, watching football, and road trips to the middle of nowhere.

Baron has been tasked with guarding Kiera from any attacks by the rogue Ryder.
Wolf shifter Baron has been assigned to guard Kiera and the other human women at the Forever Home animal shelter but he has been fighting the attraction he feels for Kiera. Working at the Forever Home animal shelter was suggested to help Kiera with the PTSD she has suffered from after her time in the military and two tours in Iraq. Scars from a injury and the wariness men show towards a female veteran has made her feel unlovable. Wolf shifter Baron reminds her of the prince in a fairy story she wrote as a child. A Shifter romance to relax and enjoy.

Make me understand what it feels like to shift. 5 PAWS UP

To have an animal rumbling inside me, clawing its way out. I want to experience the euphoria of being completely wild. I’m going to make you howl. It was time to let Baron work his magic. And oh the magic that is woven into this story! The horror that both Baron and Kiera have lived through is tough to process, but the fact that they can both help each other through it, to come out on the other side better & stronger for it, is true magic! Of course, the romance that blossoms, or should I say explodes, between them is hot and magical! Even though this is a bit of a shorter book, all of the trademark Kristen Strassel awesomeness is fully present, drawing me into the story, feeling like I knew what they have gone through (which couldn’t be farther from the truth!) and loving every minute of it!! It is best to read the Sawtooth Shifters Series in order, not only to experience every single moment with each couple, but to follow the overall storyline that flows through each book!

Baron Channing, the second brother in the Channing family was born to follow. Kiera, on the the girls that worked at the Forever Home Animal Shelter that helped rescue Baron and his fellow wolves from an evil dog fighting ring, finds it hard to admit that she wants Baron to Protect Me when he is ordered by his brother to keep her and her roommate safe.

Baron was born to be dominated and Kiera, the scarred soldier likes the control she offers along with the strength of his support. Both Baron and Kiera have issues to overcome and together they find a way to help each other in a hot sexy shifter romance.

I borrowed Her Guardian Wolf the new version of Protect Me from the Kindle Unlimited program.

The story continues

This is the second book in this series focusing on Baron and Kiera.

Baron, Shadow, and Dallas are now protecting the women of the rescue shelter. Every since they have been released from captivity, Ryker has been sending his goons to scare the girls off. Keira and Lyssie live together so Baron and Dallas take turns spending the night at the girl's place.

Baron is slowly getting Kiera to lower her guard, to trust, and feel again. She tells him about her life in the military and slowly shows him her physical and emotional scars.

As the couple fall in love, Shadow becomes more aggressive when it comes to dealing with Pack matters. That's not who the Channings' are, they have been peace makers for centuries. Baron doesn't believe in violence and wants out of Shadow's new pack.

Kiera is a fixture at Forever Home. She was in the military and suffered injuries from a bomb. She bears the scars inside and out. Now she;s caught in another war but with werewolves. One really lights her fire..Baron. He;s the wolf equivalent to a soldier. He is made to follow orders. Kiera lights him up and loves being with her. But the war is going on and he needs to stand by his brother. Then on an outing Kiera is hurt and he retaliates on the one who hurt her. At this point he reaches a crisis of conscious and needs to make a decision that will affect him and Kiera and his pack.

ophie has come to Summerland for a fresh start. Her single status among her group of friends finally reached the oh-hell-no point and she cracked. Selling everything she owned and fleeing to her grandmother's house, she is all for reinventing herself. She has always wanted to explore her magic and her grandmother is teaching her, albeit slowly, to cast some spells. She has started a blog on sex toys and is enjoying the testing phase, ahem. When she goes to a yard sale with her grandmother she is literally shocked when she meets a hunk of a man who apparently has an ongoing fued with her granny. What is that all about and why is her grandmother referring to him as "lizard breath"?

A quick and easy to read shapeshifter romance that continues from where the first book ended. It helps to have read the previous story but at this early part of the overall storyline this book can be read out of order. Baron is one of the wolf shifters rescued from the illegal dog fights. He is tasked with guarding one of the human women who rescued him and his brothers. A nice romantic and steamy story to enjoy.

I have read a lot of these types of books lately and honestly found this one to be refreshingly different. Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.
Her descriptions of the characters abilities are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

This was a pretty good book, but you need to read the previous one in order to have a good understanding of what was going on now. The story flowed well, and the characters were well developed, even the supporting ones. There were some light BDSM reference but nothing offensive. Just a very well written book.

Book two in the series. I really loved the character of Kiera. She has a military past that has left mental and physical scars. But she is overcoming them all and is one tough female and also dominant when it counts. Baron may be second and beta but that doesn’t mean he wants to fight. He like dangerous adventures but not war. And he definitely likes one dominant human female. The story continues where the first one stopped.

This storyline revolves around Baron and Kiera. Baron is Beta wolf to his brother Shadow in the Channing pack and is falling for Kiera, another human that helped rescue the packs from Rykers destruction of dog fighting. Baron has a decision to make, will he make the right or wrong choice? Must read!

Awesome read

Kiera and Baron’s story is so full of love and patience. two people that have everything in common but each has their own abilities to sooth each other. War is coming but Baron is having reservations with the pack. Excellent writing with a storyline that is very heart warming.

Good read

Another good read in the Sawtooth series. Keira and Baron were very cute without much drama. The brother dynamic was very different than described in the last book. And I'm personally not a fan of dominant female, submissive male. Glad Major is getting a story but I wish Dallas was next.
