Lynne first met her husband when she was 14. At 15, she wrote her first book, but it was rejected everywhere. Lynne married after she completed a degree at Edinburgh University. She started writing again when she was at home with her first child. It took several attempts before she sold her first book in 1987 and the delight of seeing that first book for sale in the local newsagents has never been forgotten. Now, there are over 10 million of her books in print worldwide.
Lynne always wanted a large family and has five children. Her eldest and her only natural child is 19 and currently at university. Her other four children, who are every bit as dear to her heart, are adopted. She has two 9-year-olds adopted from Sri Lanka and a 5- and a 3-year-old adopted from Guatemala.
In Lynne's home, there is a rich and diverse cultural mix, which adds a whole extra dimension of interest and discovery to family life. The family lives in a country house surrounded by a woodland garden, which is wonderfully private.
The family has two pets. Thomas, a very large and affectionate black cat, bosses the dog and hunts rabbits. The dog is Daisy, an adorable but not very bright white West Highland terrier, who loves being chased by the cat. At night, dog and cat sleep together in front of the kitchen stove.
Lynne loves gardening, cooking, collects everything from old toys to rock specimens and is crazy about every aspect of Christmas.

...Why not hire Belle? She’s in a jam... Oh, and there’s a dog in the story too. You like dogs, no? Well, by all accounts she’s a very nice girl, probably not your type at all. They’ve been running a book behind the bar all summer betting on which guy will make waves with her.’
https://bookshout.com/store/books/218...
Well, that's the H's best friend talking and he's right about everything - except for the part about Dante liking dogs. Lol. But, this is a Lynne Graham romance, so there's no way in hell the H's gonna still be a dog disliker by the end of the epilogue.
In this novel, the fake relationship trope evolves into a secret baby storyline, after our MC's conveniently forget about the platonic rules of their short-lived business arrangement.
Dante, the hot Italian billionaire H, finds himself in a bind when an important business deal is threatened by the jealous antics of a scorned OW. The H is desperate to buy property that had once belonged to his late brother and the current owner is married to a spoilt hagbitch OW who'd been Dante's former penis polisher.
This is the H, Dante:

His luxuriant wind-tousled black hair, ...blew back in the breeze, accentuating his hard, sculpted features. Even in jeans and an open-necked shirt, he was as sleekly magnificent as a black panther, physically beautiful in a wild, natural way and probably equally dangerous.
This OW is still lusting after the H and has apparently deluded herself into believing that their weekend long tryst, four years ago, was a real relationship ! Dante fears that she's simultaneously hoping for some retribution after being dumped unceremoniously.
She's not quite earned bunny boiler status, but her narcissistic persona suggests that she's got the potential to derail the entire business deal, if she fails to get what she wants: a hot, naked H back in her bed, right under the nose of her jealous, possessive husband.
Belle, our petite pocket Venus heroine, is stranded in southern France, living in a tacky, rusted campervan with her scruffy little mutt dog named Charlie. She's employed as a waitress and is trying to save enough money to build a better life for herself and Charlie, back in England.
This is Belle, the heroine:

Her hair was as multicoloured as a Halloween bonfire, a vivid curling mass of untidy copper, red and glinting gold... She had the porcelain pale skin of a true redhead and the legs and breasts of a goddess, Dante decided, following the slim shapely length of those fantastic legs.
Dante's best friend Steve, suggests that the H hires Belle to act as his fake girlfriend, when Krystal ( the former piranha OW ) and her husband turn up to discuss the property deal. The H had asked another woman to be his fake girlfriend but that lady had wanted a real engagement ring !
The cynical H had no intention of getting caught up in any wily woman's matrimonial trap, because marriage wasn't part of his future - especially after seeing his mother's flagrant adultery:
Dante had never had quite the same view of women since he had caught his deceitful mother in bed with one of his father’s closest friends.
What begins as just a platonic contract agreement, turns into lust filled bouts of boinking when the MC's are unable to keep their hands off each other. Soon enough, the obligatory broken HPlandiaCondom™️ adds the unplanned baby twist into the plotline.
Surprisingly, the H isn't a total jackass because he treats her well during the period while they're waiting to learn whether she's pregnant or not. He even prefers the way she looked naturally, before her fabulous makeover. He also finds himself doing weird things, like confiding family secrets.
Belle is totally bowled over by his awesomely hunkarrific hotness...

However, she isn't too cowed to stand up for herself, especially when Dante refused to allow her to bring her dog with them, to Italy:
Almost at the same time she reached for Charlie for reassurance and lifted him up onto her lap, sand from his paws and coat flying in all directions.
‘I can’t possibly ditch Charlie.’
‘He can go into kennels for the duration of our arrangement.’
‘No, he needs love and attention, and taken away from everything familiar, he would be frightened!’ Belle reasoned fiercely, hugging Charlie to her as if he were a worn soft toy.
‘He’s not a child,’ Dante reasoned in exasperation.
‘He’s the only family I’ve got, and he’s had a rough ride so far in life,’ Belle argued in growing dismay.
‘I won’t part with Charlie!’

This is the adorable scruffy mutt, Charlie:

The scorned former OW doesn't turn up until the last quarter of the story and her role was minimal. That disappointed me a little, because I'd expected Krystal to play a slightly bigger active part in the novel. Consequently, there wasn't much trainwrecky angst in this light and sweetly romantic tale.
In this instance, it's not particularly a liability because I enjoyed reading more about the MC's developing relationship and their evolving feelings for each other. Lynne Graham also gives dog lovers an extra helping of cutiedorable goodness with the addition of his late brother's 2 doggies: Tito and Carina.
This is Tito:

This is Carina:

Readers who love a well behaved alpha H, will enjoy this story. I was a little on the fence about declaring him an alpha male, until the scene where his raging, possessive jealousy ignited and flared to the surface; he'd mistakenly assumed that Belle's dad was another thirsty guy trying to poach on his terrain. Luckily, he found out the truth just before he punched the older man. Lol.
I also wished that Tracy ( the heroine's mother ) had gotten some comeuppance, after the way she'd lied, stolen, cheated and attempted to extort money from Belle:
You’re not that stupid,’ Tracy told her. ‘Naturally I’m here hoping that you will share a little of the pot of gold you’re living in.’
https://bookshout.com/store/books/218...
Tracy's one of the nastiest, meanest, most selfish, skankiest hoing hoes of all sluttypuss cougar moms in HPlandia ! And I'm not slut shaming her or using hyperbolic language...

But, at least Dante ensured that Tracy was exiled from their lives permanently. And the good part was the heroine's joyous reconciliation with her dad and stepmom. The epilogue was one of Lynne G's best ! It's set 5 years in the future and the MC's are parents of 3 kids ( 2 boys and a toddler girl ).
Guinea pigs, rabbits and a few other pets are added to the family's menagerie, Charlie the scruffy cutie has a wife and puppies and Tito and Carina are lazing around in their deluxe doggy beds - the way all aristocratic Chihuahuas are prone to doing.
Safety: No cheating and the former OW isn't given much active page time.

My friend Melody has a really detailed review of this book so I will only say that I adored this hero and heroine. Dante and Belle were a lovely couple, sweet, passionate and so in love. Hero is experienced and sexy and heroine is virginal and adorable. I especially loved hero's jealousy and possessiveness! I loved the unplanned pregnancy and how our commitment-phobic hero became a doting husband and father thanks to sweet Belle! Epilogue with their 3 kids melted my heart. Lynne Graham is the best Harlequin author out there for sure.

Ahhhh.
Nothing like sinking into a warm Lynne Graham bath of sweet virgin heroine, a cynical, smitten-against-his-will hero, a rescue dog(s) and a "pretend" relationship that leads to a kid-filled epilogue. Glad to see she is still writing what she does best!

So Refreshing
Finally I found a good HP novel that made me have all the feels. Dante hires the waitress heroine to play his live in girlfriend to keep a former lover at bay. Little does he know but she is going to knock his socks off. She throws him off balance at every turn and you could see him falling in love with her despite his cynicism. I loved it. She was so sweet but not cloying or anything like that and still strong enough to not take any flack with him. Yes this all happened in two weeks but HP is fantasyland and it could happen! And the prologue was perfect ! I wish I could read it again for the first time. It's been a long drought though and I truly enjoyed this.

I loved this book by LG,a return to her classic style of romances with a H/h who were a perfect match.
Super billionaire Italian hero meets his match in a spunky beautiful red head waitress heroine complete with the requisite doggies.
Lovely epilogue, left a beatific smile on my face.

"His Cinderella's One-Night Heir" is the story of Belle and Dante.
A sweet love story between a strong heroine and an arrogant hero, who have both had shitty upbringings. Their paths cross when the hero decides to hire the broke heroine to pretend to be his girlfriend, a charade that soon turns into much more as passion and emotions get involved. There is family drama, catty OW and adorable dogs. Yes, coming to that, I would have rated this higher if the hero did not separate the heroine and the dogs..HOW DARE YOU DANTE?! But they do get along by the end, and the epilogue was BOMB!
Anyways, loved the heroine, the hero was OK, sex was hot, minimal angst and ended in a HEA.
Safe

Pretty middle of the road read. Not as good as LG's older titles. There was too much sex. Not saying that as a prude but I would rather have more story. Are the editors telling the HP authors to put more sex in? There was also a lot of rolling around in the characters' heads. So much thinking so little doing. 218 pages that felt like 75. Hmm.

Sexy and modern story with a great hero and heroine. As is typical with Lynne Graham's works, there are many tropes covered within this book so it will appeal to majority of readers. Enjoyable ☺

A nail biting heroine who happens to be a dog lover. A compassionate woman with a softness to offer a cold passive aggressive hero. Tinkerbell aka Belle, either way she was named after Disney characters did exactly both for Dante. He was cold and harsh, losing his gay weak brother made him even sterner. However, this H hired belle,he fell hard like a tonne of bricks which repaired his beastly heart and brought the magic he felt in Belle's presence. She glowed and she was indeed the princess of his heart. The story showed how the hero was falling in love without much of his insights and how the h was feeling towards him. I enjoyed recognizing how the hero fell like a tonne of bricks and the h was bewildered. I was happy Belle got along with her dad and her reunions with the dogs. A wonderful epilogue and great story.....

Nice and sweet LG stuff. It had some weight to it so I can’t complain. The first half was more enjoyable than the second.
The h and H meet at a restaurant and get into a faux relationship. The h was warm and homely and the H was caring and much of a gentleman. He started off as being detached but eventually warmed up to the h and their chemistry picked up. There are also a few family dogs in their story so that could be a winning aspect for some.
The h and H get along pretty well and there isn’t much conflict. I needed more sass for more stars. Glad to see LG picking up..

Ah... this was sweet, but just missing that extra "oomph" to turn it into a 5-star read for me.
Both H and h had tragic back stories.
And yet, despite the really sad background history, I didn't feel anything much for either of them. Was it because LG had a tendency for her leads to monologue and express themselves unemotionally? (Or is it because I'm burnt out from my school work, and couldn't even find respite and heart-thumping tension in the 2 hours I was reading this?)
In any case, it was a really preposterous but very on-brand story between an ultra-rich H, and a downtrodden, poor, and uneducated h. The fantastic elements of it was great escapism, and I was happily diverted, so there is that :)

I liked this one a lot, both the hero and heroine. Will def. be re-reading this.

To start with I am a Lynne Graham fan so there are certain things that I expect highly of. Virginal, no children from previous relationships and no ex (husband or wife) stories are just my cup of tea and that is what I look into first before I read a book. Not to mention Epilogues and HEA. And as I expected Lynne Graham delivered. Proving to me again and again why she is my top go to authors. So for those who have the same preference as I do I would highly suggest this book (and most all of Lynne Graham books).
The story of Dante and Belle is like that of the title. Cinderella and his one night heir but with a twist. Tinkerbelle or better known as Belle does not have cruel stepmother or any step sisters but she does have a life full of strugles due to the fact that she tends to be abused by people arround her with the exception by her grandparents who raised her. She was not abused phyiscally though but she was emotionally battered. She could not make choices for herself because she was never given one to start with. And her kind heart tends to be abused quite often as well. She may not have a step mother but her mother is just as vile as Cinderella's step mother. She left her with nothing after her granparents death even though she was the one who took care of them when they were ill and her mother was out in the world being a "model". She got left with nothing again except with her employer's dog, Charlie, when she worked for an old lady in France when her old employer died thus she had to work as a waitress to save up money so that she and Charlie can return to England.
Dante on the other hand is a real life Italian prince (though their title is no longer acknowledged by the Italian Republic) with Billions under his name but with a shattered past. He did not have a childhood full of roses and had a terrible impression of love. Therefore he did not want marriage and children as he did not want to continue the family line due to the incident involving his older brother whom he had solely loved the entirety of his 28 years of existence. He was physically abused by his mother and saw her having affairs one after another and with a father who does not give a damn about his children (as they were born for the purpose of continuing the family line). But he needed someone who could pretend to be his live-in girlfriend to ward off an ex lover who happened to be the wife of the man who bought his brother's retreat which he desperately wanted to claim. Thus enter Belle in the picture.
Their chemistry from the get go was so hot. Their interactions were so cute and funny. Belle having the hobby of bitting her nails when nervous and Dante made it his role to prevent such situations where she had to actually nibble on her nails by holding her hand or kissing her. They opened up to each other, laughed together like they are the best of friends instead of fake lovers for 2 weeks. So all in all I just love this book to bits. I have read and re-read this book for about 2 days now and it still gives me butterflies everytime. Definitely one of my favorites and worth reading.

Really enjoyed this book. Like both Hero and Heroine. A very sweet story. A bit loo much sex but that was ok I guess. Story line was great.

Quick Summary: An opposites romance
My Review: His Cinderella’s One-Night Heir by Lynne Graham is a Harlequin Presents romance. It was published in 2019.
About the Book: A grumpy Italian billionaire meets a penniless English woman. They engage in a passionate night of relations, and she finds herself pregnant. They both catch feelings for one another, but for whatever reason, they choose not to communicate their hears. When one partner leaves, the other gives chase.
About the Characters: Even though both characters were, indeed, opposites, they both shared a dysfunctional past with their parents.
Audiobook Critique: It is so rare that I come across HqP audiobooks that I decided to take a chance on this one. I wish I had not. It was brutal. I only finished the book because I don’t like giving DNF (unless it is absolutely necessary). Anywho, this one was a hard listen. Why? Let me tell you. The accent used by the narrator for the MMC fluctuated between Italian, Romanian, and something else. It was so inconsistent. (I kid you not. Once, it had me thinking of Carpathians. (Yes, those!)
My Final Say: This one was trope rich, very predictable, and just ok. I bumped the score through a rounded lens.
Rating: 2.5/5

Italian billionaire Dante Lucarelli needs a fake girlfriend to seal a business deal. The potential seller is married to an ex conquest (Krystal) who’s flirting, and grabby hands aren’t good for business. He enlists the help of Belle to act as a buffer, and run interference when needed. This aspect ends up being a really small part of the plot; they are only even around Krystal for like a day, and it’s not a big deal at all.
Both Dante and Belle have had less than desirable childhoods, but Dante’s abusive and harlotting mom has made him leery of forming any type of romantic relationships. Belle is a sweet animal loving virgin, who was raised by her both deceased grandparents. The MC’s were surprisingly mature; they talk through their feelings, and both handle things like adults. It's pretty drama free, and low angst.... one of the sweetest HP’s I’ve read.
Bottom Line- I had come of a draining, heavy read, so this was just what I needed, and might be part of why I liked it so much. It may be too vanilla for most soapy readers, because of the lack of drama and angst. You really need to be in a sweet… maybe boring kinda mood😊 It’s currently on sale for .99 in Kindle store.

A light hearted, fun read with a really great H.
I liked Dante and his easy way with Belle.
He hires her as his pretend girlfriend to stave off the unwanted advances of a past lover and now wife of a business associate. But Belle quickly becomes so much more. Her kindness and openness quickly wins Dante over and he finds that he in unable to resist her.
I loved Belle and Dante and their epilogue was the perfect end to their story. It left me happy and hopeful. And this is why I will always read HPs. I’m a sucker for a good HEA.

I love Lynne Graham's kooky little touches of humour, I love the way the vulnerability of the ultra alpha hero shows through, I love the fact that the heroine looks like a complete doormat but actually isn't. Clever, cute, adorable story and steamy sex scenes. Lynne Graham is definitely at the top of the M&B Modern line for me. When I'm wanting pure unadulterated romance she always delivers.

Dante Lucarelli’s hired Belle Forrester to pretend to be his girlfriend to thwart a former lover. The pretense didn't last very long.
