USA Today Bestselling Author, Stephanie Kay has always loved a good romance, and she got hooked on the dirty ones at the tender age of 14, when she told her mother that if the cover wasn’t a bodice ripper, then there was no sex in the book. As an avid mystery reader, her mother never checked to see if Stephanie was lying. Twenty plus years later, Stephanie’s most prized possession is her Kindle, and she may have a Hallmark movie obsession.
She has called California, Maryland, and Rhode Island her home, but now lives in New Hampshire with her husband where she asks him incessant questions until he escapes to go hiking in the mountains. That’s the only time she can get him out of the house so she can get her writing in. Married couples shouldn’t both work from home!
Sports were never her thing, but after beta reading for another hockey author and buying NHL Game Center within one month of watching her first hockey game a few years ago, she dove into learning everything she could about the sport and the hot men that play it. Now she spends her spare time visiting hockey arenas in the name of research and loving every second of it.
This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. I read this book within half an hour and was satisfied throughout. This book is the first book of Stephanie Kay’s that I have read. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline sweet. This story is a second chance romance. Maggie and Alex had grown up together and dated for years. A few years earlier, Maggie broke Alex’s heart by ending their relationship. Maggie loved Alex but they were both heading in different directions. Her to medical school and Alex to a professional hockey team where he could get traded at any time. When Alex learns that Maggie is living in the same town as him to do her two-year residency, he makes a move. Alex is determined to win Maggie back but will it work out? The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is a sweet read. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.
Will she, won’t she, will he, won’t he, will they or will it be another miss? This kind of stupid round and round just gets on my nerves. This is not an enjoyable read, to me. And not a book I would recommend.
i won this in a Goodreads giveaway, i see it is book 5 .. in KU if you have that service. sports romance. sports fiction. come out in 2018. different book covers on Goodreads and Amazon, i always find that a bit tough as a reader ... trying to make sure i have the right book to review, etc. second chance romance. short and sweet. has dual point of views because the way of writing ... remember when it wasn't??! i wonder if that is something ...that will change again over and time??!
Another great hockey romance. Alex and Maggie grew up together, dated through college then broke up. Maggie didn't think long distance relationship would work. She was in medical school and Alex was drafted by the Strikers, Now they're in the same city just crazy schedules. Can they find a way to make it work. Read to find out.
This is the 5th book in the San Francisco Strikers series. It is the story of hockey star Alex Westbrook and his first and only love Dr. Maggie Terraza. Maggie had ended their relationship five years earlier due to career stresses and her own insecurities. They meet again at the hospital where she is a resident and he heads up a charity for sick children. Sparks fly.
I'm so loving this series I never want it to end! This one doesn't disappoint even as a short story! There's a lot of heartfelt feelings in it! Enjoy 5 stars for this one!
Adorable y muy tierno, le queda muy bien el formato corto a esta historia. Aunque habría apreciado un epílogo con más info de la pareja en el futuro y de cómo ha ido el tratamiento con los niños del hospital.
I'd like Alex under my tree at Christmas time, please. I really love his and Maggie's story. It's a sweet and sexy appetizer to the rest of the Strikers series.
Too short. This could have been fleshed out a bit and made longer. The couples of this series have been 50/50 if they interest me, this one did so I just wish it was a longer story.
All I Want Short and Sweet A second chance romance, set at Christmas time. A very quick read. Alex and Maggie were cute together. There was an awful lot of Maggie’s back and forth about her wants and feelings for Alex in such a short book. Alex never wavered in his feelings for her. As soon as they reconnect, he’s all in again. As with most short stories, it felt rushed, but it does tell a complete story even if a lot of the details are left out. It’s told in dual points of view. And does have an HEA.
