What a Heart Wants is 5 stars Sealed With a Kiss is 4 stars Both stories are well written and entertaining Sealed with a kiss has lots of sexy times What a Heart Wants has all the family stuff (close-knit) and passion that I love and have come to expect from Ms. Hill.
Thanks to Harlequin Kimani Romance for the advance eARC of this book.
I loved this book and could not put it down. Genius Surgeon Dr. Franklin Grant is straight up about his work, research and career until he meets Dr. Dina Hamilton. Dr. Hamilton is gorgeous and brilliant at her skill as a upcoming robotic Surgeon. When a patient dies on the table and a inquiry is set facts meet the truth. Will there love last? Dr. Grant bet his likewise genius Brothers that he would bring a date to there parents 50th Anniversary celebration. Dr. Hamilton found a way to Dr. Grant's guarded heart. Fast pace, romantic and realistic.
Bravo Donna on taking on a surgeon and the complexity of workplace romance. Especially with a hard stoic character. Bravo Nicki on taking on the entertainment industry and how private and public life can be hard to navigate. Seeking to separate the real from the fake
This was a perfect two and one read. As the story lines pulled you in. The layered approach of work and love alwAys can be complicated. Each author held truth and the authenticity was felt.
What the Heart Wants by Donna Hill Franklin Grant has a good family life with his two brothers, one an entrepreneur and one a chef to the stars. His work is going well too with being the head of the cardiac department at a local hospital and bringing it up to fantastic new heights. But he does need someone to share his life with. Even if it's just to bring her to his parents' anniversary party. Could Dr. Dina Hamilton fit the bill? He shouldn't really be dating her because he is sort of her boss but she is not only gorgeous she's smart and a master at robotics. There was a lot, a LOT going on in this story but I really enjoyed this book. I don't think I've read Donna Hill before but this book certainly makes me want to rectify that situation.
Four stars
Sealed with a Kiss by Nicki Night Kendall Chandler is a singing star (of some kind...) who is about to break into the movies. Or, at least she wants to. Even though the Hollywood lifestyle is the one that led to her and her boyfriend breaking up because he thought it was okay to cheat on her. Now she has a chance at a big movie and she's going to grab it with both hands. She's crossed paths with Tyson Blackwell at her audition but he's not going to be a main producer on this movie because he's been promoted to the CEO of the Blackwell Communication Group. This story was fun, if a little disjointed at times.
Love The Grants Of DC, Franklin, Montgomery and Alonzo. I sure hope that Montgomery gets a book. Love Donna's books that are apart of a series. There is a bit of drama, but drama makes for a more interesting book. Franklin is a cardiothoracic surgeon and so is Dina Hamilton they are the best of the best when it comes to robotic surgery. Franklin put Jameson Memorial on the map and they did not do him right. Lindsay was not one of my favorite people. I was so hoping that Dina would have had some words with her because Dina has a way of telling you like it is but you don't even know that she has told you off. The Grants of DC are a must read serials.
5-Stars GRANTS OF DC - What the Heart Wants #1 [Genius (cardiothoracic surgeon) Franklin Grant needs only three things—work, work and more work. But when a family anniversary party and a bet with his brothers leads to a date with Dr. Dina Hamilton, Franklin knows he’s in trouble. Dina` is a gorgeous, brilliant (cardiothoracic surgeon) …and Franklin is her supervisor at the hospital. An affair could damage his reputation and hers. But when a patient dies during surgery and she’s earmarked to replace him at the hospital, could this have been Dina’s plan for coming for the fellowship all along?]
4.5-Stars THE CHANDLER LEGACY - Sealed with a Kiss #5 [(Actress/Songstress) Kendall Chandler is determined to succeed on her own terms, without a man’s interference. But sexy (producer/CEO) Tyson Blackwell sends her “no on-set romance” rule up in flames. An affair with the CEO of Blackwell Communications Group could destroy her career. Experience has taught Tyson to protect his heart, especially after his last girlfriend went public with their breakup making him the villain. No more actresses for him, but Kendall breaks down his walls. Can these lovers find their own Hollywood ending?]
This was a really good book. Both stories pulled me in. I love the Grant brothers and cant wait to read about other 2. I kept waiting for something more to happen with Anna. She just seemed so sneaky. When Franklin's parents were in a car accident, that caught me off guard. I wasnt ready. In Nicki's book, I really liked Tyson's character. He wasnt perfect and had his own insecurities about Kendall's ex. I love it when a character is real. I also absolutely love the proposal at the end. Both great stores #CillasBookManiacs

What The Heart Wants was a nice read to start a new family series. Franklin, the stoic thoracic surgeon eldest Grant child, finally learns that there is more to life than career and work.
Sealed With a Kiss was a great read by author Nicki Night. It was a great family oriented story about overcoming others ambition to keep your eyes on your on dreams.
Two stories that went together beautifully both dealing with family and support from a different point of view. Secondary characters who you hated, but added just the right amount of spice.
