Andy Stanton lives in North London. He studied English at Oxford but they kicked him out. He has been a film script reader, a cartoonist, an NHS lackey and lots of other things. He has many interests, but best of all he likes cartoons, books and music (even jazz).
One day he’d like to live in New York or Berlin or one of those places because he’s got fantasies of bohemia. His favourite expression is ‘Good evening’ and his favourite word is ‘captain’. Andy has now written more than one book, but less than twenty.
This was a nice enough story about a grandmother telling her granddaughter about how magical the world was when she was young before it turned grey. The granddaughter then shows the grandmother that the magic is still there. This was pretty and colourful but one I would borrow from the library and not one I'd want to keep.
A beautifully-illustrated and creative children's picture book, all about the power of imagination to transform our world. I loved that it showcases the relationship between a grandmother and granddaughter and the exhortation to always look for the magic in the world, with eyes full of wonder. Gorgeous!
This is a gorgeous book about how magical life can be. A grandmother tells her granddaughter about the days gone by and how her world full of magical experiences have faded away but her granddaughter tells her that the magic is still there and shows her where to find it. The illustrations by David Litchfield are colourful and vibrant and each spread is a delightful discovery.
