If you ever wondered what all the fuss was about James Dean or are a fan this is the one book I recommend more than any others. Its written by someone who knew him and seems honest.More
important than that it depicts the visual genuis of Dean. The book consists of photos taken by Dean
and poses of him.You need to know the new testament and about jazz to really get this book. You also
need to know the pose of David sculpted by Michelangalo.I used to be a bit embarrased to be a Dean
fan but now Im proud of it having read and studied the Schatt and Stock books and photographic poses.Anyway the Schatt book is the most mythic and exciting book on James Dean and what he means
in my opinon. I own a copy in paperback not in hardcover.Dean was a poet of pose along with Bjork and maybe Chaplin.

The things you forget and never thought you’d see. I knew Jimmy was friends with Schatt and did photography but I never thought his work was preserved so it was fun to see here. Listening to Schatt talk about Jimmy, and seeing him captures Dean’s various moods makes me fall in love with Jimmy all over again.
