Youth and Truth is a movement led by Sadhguru to empower the youth of our country with the required clarity and perspective so as to enable them to realize their full potential. The movement was brought to life on the back of a month-long series of college events across the country covering a wide range of educational institutions such as IIM-A, IIT Bombay, JNU, NALSAR University of Law and others. Mass media and digital amplification accompanied these on-ground student events. A digital platform was created which became a repository of both questions from the youth and Sadhguru’s answers. In addition, there was a series of informal events in youth-oriented locations. All these events were interactive, candid sessions between Sadhguru and students, where students could seek clarity on any topics they chose, be it career, parents, addiction, stress, relationships or sexuality – nothing was off limits! Youth and Truth is a movement to inspire and empower India's youth. It is an investment in the future of the nation.
I read this book and while reading I realised that this is an accumulation of all youth and truth programs by Sadhguru. I don't recommend reading this book because you can just watch his videos.
…That is the essence of the spiritual process - that we’re constantly looking at every life as a possibility. (Speaking of not forming opinions about anyone.)
Every life is a possibility. If you want to keep that possibility open, you never ever form an opinion of any sort about anybody… You simply look at them right now… Tomorrow must be created, not concretized right now, isn’t it?
I highlighted this above gem while I was reading the Book " Youth & Truth." Albeit, I have enjoyed reading ever since my childhood but I fall for the book which gives me an opportunity to use my pencil to anotate it. This is the experience I got while reading this wonderful piece of work.
This book is written by Sadhguru, whom I seldom follow through his YouTube videos. When I got my hands on this much awaited book, I was excited to see how it would unravel the facts. This book widened the horizons of life and shaped my perspective towards life in so many ways. While we all are busy fulfilling our materialistic needs, it becomes rudimentary after a while. I was elated to read how this book gives an answer to our preoccupied mind and a monotonous lifestyle.
This book is a collation of five seminars which have happened during "Unplug with Sadhguru" event for " Youth & Truth" campaign.
Every chapter is entirely an experience which makes us the part of the event from the very beginning of the chapter. This book has been documented as per the conversations taken place during events.
Conversations between Sadhguru & the moderator(s) are nothing less than a boon for the readers as it's treat a for eyes and mind both.
The aspects discussed/ shared in the book are aspirational and can really compels the raders to ponder upon the thoughts shared about life, relationships, goals and many other things.
I loved the simplicity of the language and the way the narration kept me hooked. This enlightening book is a page turner.
Though, the takeaways from this book are innumerable, one aspect impacted me the most, ie. 'WITHOUT CLARITY, CONFIDENCE DOESN'T COME.'
After a long time I got a book in which I couldn't control myself to underlined most of the part.
I cannot recommend this book enough to everyone out there who is looking for something remarkable and easy to read.
On this note, leaving another quote from this book for you.
Sadhguru answers national and international students across prestigious universities, their variety of questions about life, relationships, education, death, heaven, hell, society, pain, suffering, joy, ecstasy, psychological, existential, social dynamics, conflicts, suffering, democracy, politics, consciousness, religion, responsibility and literally everything under the sun and in the cosmos. And boy oh boy there wasn’t a single dull moment.
I’ve read multiple spiritual/self help books and they barely scratched the surface, lacked depth or simply left me feeling either confused or questioning the same things again. Felt limited and unsatisfied. But everything Sadhguru says feels like I’m getting closer to home and will happily arrive, irrespective of life’s situations.
One of my favourite answers to questions about uplifting our society or something to do with sustaining happiness without the use of drugs/alcohol:
It doesn’t take time to be limitless in intention, thought and emotion, it’s only action which takes time. If we’re limitless in our intentions, our actions will go as far as it can go.
If we limit our very intention, then we become constipated with our action (Things happen little by little).
If you wish happiness, wish it for everyone, not just for yourself, your wife and kids but for everyone around you too.
Whatever the best you want for yourself, want it for every life on the planet. In thinking so, everything that you can do in your life, you will do. A few other lovely quotes: “I want all life to be well”.
“Religion should be a personal pursuit and not a global goal”.
Everything that’s discussed in these conversations will help you become more conscious of your own life process itself rather than just focusing on end goals.
📖𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪📖 Sadhguru has always been inspiration for many people including myself, his way of explaining everything around us are always fascinating and informative. This book is all about Sadhguru visiting different repective colleges, institutions and answering the questions asked by the students. The book also discloses how all the students and faculty members are excited to meet Sadhguru and to have a one on one conversation with him. The best thing about this book is, it is straight to the point. You won't find it boring and too lengthy though there were some obvious question and answers in the books but you never now who might like those basic questions and their explanation. I really like Sadhguru's wittiness and the way he uses it to explaine even the complexed questions in a very simple way and to create a sense of fun and comfortable ambience while having an conversation with the audience. If you have questions in your mind about life, nature and emotions, sexuality you can consider giving it a read. It may help you to find the answer, you've always been looking for.
The very quirky cover made me pick this book. This is something that is meant for the young minds who want everything fast paced but still wants values instilled in everything. This was definitely a good read that could be read in few sittings, I enjoyed it and it is really insightful. . Rating: 4⭐️
A very motivational book which makes you get answers to the questions which you have in your mind but which fail to reach your mouth every single time !
This is a non fiction book filled with information. It has answers to basically everything you might have questions about. To be honest I’m not a really big fan of reading non-fiction books but this book was different. From romance and sexuality, parenting and education, career and business, anxiety and procrastination, racism and drugs, yogic sciences and god making, every question has been answered in this book. There were so many new things that i got to know that i could have never guessed otherwise. The best part is that every answer has a logical explanation or a logical example. Reading this book will make you realise that there are soo many things around us that have an affect on you, like how the position of the moon can affect your mood. There is so much knowledge to gain from this book. After reading this book you’ll see life and everything around you so differently. We humans have been told for so long that life is all about working and earning money and owning materialistic things, etc, etc. But Sadhguru says “Do not understand life as job, food, profession, this, that nonsense. This one (referring to oneself) is life, isn’t it? You are mistaking the accessories of life as life, unfortunately.” I’d recommend everyone to read this book, even if you aren’t a big non fiction fan. The vibe of this book is not at all serious so if you think you’ll get bored, you won’t.
