Loved it! Great storytelling and lovely romance. Not the traditional ballroom regency. Loved strong, reserved, protective Hero and sensible, yet feminine heroine who disliked and distrusted each other due to past misunderstanding and secrets. Yet slowly they grew to have friendship, respect and love while on the run from a madman who was fixated on the heroine.
I liked this one. I thought this was a fun read with a dash of adventure. I liked that Madeline and Robinson slowly fell in love, it grew as they spent more time together and realized the mistakes they had made in the past. I thought they had good chemistry together, I would have liked more dialog and less inner thought, but overall it was fun. Madeline is being stalked and threatened by a madman (for half the book I was picturing him an older man, but it was finally mentioned he was only 25 which put him in a different perspective). Anyway, Madeline has to swallow her pride and turn to her ex-fiancé to help protect her. I liked the plot and that the entire book they are together.
This book seemed to have a lot of action to it. As they travel from one plan to another in order to avoid the unwanted pursuer, they come to understand each other better than before, as well as understand things that had gone awry in their past. A little cliche, but the rest of the book makes up for it. This one will keep you guessing as to how it will all work out. I really enjoyed the character development of Robinson as the story unfolds. I really feel like he was the main character more than Madeline. Definitely a keeper.
