Though I personally do not believe in the whole "find Jesus" thing, this book was eye opening. One has to respect Project Rescue and all they do for these women/children. Would encourage others to read this book.

This book is a great tool to become more aware on what is going on in the sex-slave industry. Also it's a book of hope. There is hope for this problem that is going on in our world.

SO powerful. A really quick read and speaks into God’s heart for victims of trafficking, and the realities of their lives. 💔

If you want more information on this horrendous things called sex-trafficking, this is a book to read. It is difficult and will probably make you cry, but it will also make you want to do something.

We must allow our hearts to be broken and moved for those who are hurting. There’s no other way to be an effective follower of Christ.

Good book of information, clearly not written by an experienced author. That said, I liked the attention to the issue.

This book explained a lot of what goes on in the red light districts of India and how Project Rescue helps intervene through prevention and restoration. God truly shines throughout this book by explaining how the emotional and spiritual needs can be a huge message to these women who have been looked down upon, abandoned, abused, used, suicidal, demon possessed, HIV/AIDS victims, etc. I have read about 30 human trafficking books now and I usually don't cry while reading these stories at all (more horrified and angry) but the Holy Spirit really caused a bunch of tears to come out of me in even the first pages of this book. I truly loved it and think that anyone who is a Christian and has a heart-string for learning about modern-day slavery needs to read this. It was a much different book than I've read before. It gives you insight, understanding, and spreads the true love of Christ for the oppressed!

“Wow!” A very powerful book that I won’t soon forget. This is a book that should be read so that more people can understand what is happening to girls around the world. As major newspapers have lately begun carrying more headlines about the human trafficking industry this issue is finally getting the coverage it deserves. Knowledge is a beginning, what you do about it is what will change the world.

Beyond the Soiled Curtain features lots of good practical information, but is not well-written. The authors tried to cram way too many stories into a short book, and the result is an all-over-the-place volume of short stories in which the characters are not developed well enough to earn much of the reader's empathy.

As far as rating this book, it is difficult. I am grateful that it was written because it offers HOPE for change, and recounts the rescue and restoration of people. In this regard, it is an amazing story of what God can do when people are committed to love and serve. I do not like the awful truth that this modern slavery exists and ensnares people in hopelessness. It is well worth reading.

While this read will be done in a quick afternoon, you will be left with the lingering words, "How can this be?" Project Rescue began in 1997 when K.K. Devaraj and team members from Bombay Teen Challenge (yes, Teen Challenge) went to Falkland Road in the red-light district of Mumbai. The ministry continues today. Sex trafficking is undoubtedly a world-wide epidemic with no land untouched.

Such an eye opener to the horrid of the sex-trafficking industry. Project Rescue is a wonderful ministry that helps to save and restore these women and their children.

This is a insightful, fast read. No child should ever have to suffer for a grown man's personal, selfish, sick desires. I want to know more on this horrific topic and how to help end it.
