Two children of the Yalanji people are pursued by Turramulli, the largest and fiercest of the spirits roaming the bushland. Beautifully illustrated in color by the authors. Published in Australia.
Was read this as a kid. My parents used it to scare me so i would come home whenever they said "Turramulli's on its way!" Would recommend, was very effective
I couldn’t count the number of times I read this book as a child. Turramulli remains one of the scariest creatures I have encountered. The story and artwork were so captivating that I can conjure scenes and words from memory, more than thirty years later.
Shout out to this unique book. My children (ages 8 and 6) enjoyed it, although they found it a bit creepy. I loved the unique artwork and the lore from Dreamtime.
My mom read this book to my brothers and me all the time as kids. It was so unique and scary. For Christmas this year, she found an old copy and gave it to me as a present. It's still such a great, adventurous children's book.
This big literally changed me and my sisters life. We were absolutely enamoured with the story of Turramulli and the Quinkins. Such a shame it's out of print!
