به رغم ضرباهنگ سریع زندگی امروز، اوقات ما پر است از فراغت‌های کوتاه و فرصت‌های طلایی. اتاق انتظار پزشک و صف بانک و وقت‌هایی که توی تاکسی و مترو می‌گذرانیم، می‌تواند وقف سرک کشیدن از پنجره‌ای کوچک به جهان عجیب شاهکارهای ادبی شود. نیز، بارها اتفاق افتاده که تلاش کرده‌ایم مطالعهٔ یکی از این شاهکارها را آغاز کنیم اما به دلیل هیبت اثر، نداشتن زمان کافی یا همگام نشدن با حال و هوای داستان از این کار بازمانده‌ایم. در این مواقع دسترسی به گزیده‌ای خوش‌خوان و مناسب از آثار نویسنده می‌تواند جرئت و شوق مطالعهٔ نوشته‌ای را که خواندنش کاری شاق به نظر می‌رسید در ما برانگیزد. پانوراما همین هدف را دنبال می‌کند: جهان‌نمایی وسیع که به آسانی در دسترس عموم مخاطبین قرار می‌گیرد.

About the author

Elsa Morante began writing short stories which appeared in various publications and periodicals, including periodicals for children, in the 1930s. Her first book was a collection of some of the stories, Il Gioco Segreto, published in 1941. It was followed in 1942 by a children's book, La Bellissime avventure di Caterì dalla Trecciolina (rewritten in 1959 as Le straordinarie avventure di Caterina).
She married the novelist Alberto Moravia in 1941, and through him she met many of the leading Italian thinkers and writers of the day as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dario Bellezza, Sandro Penna, Attilio Bertolucci, Umberto Saba and many others.

از الزا مورانته، نویسنده‌ی ایتالیایی کتاب تاریخ رو خوندم که کتاب خیلی معروفی هست. سومین کتابشه و شهرت جهانی داره. نمیشه گفت کتاب بدی بود ولی فراز و فرودهای کتاب رو خیلی دوست نداشتم، داستانش در مورد زنی هست تحت‌تاثیر جنگ، که مسیر زندگیش رو بدون انتخابی که داشته سپری میکنه، فرزندی داره و در بحبوبه‌ی جنگ نازی‌ها اتفاقاتی که برایش می‌افته بیان شده... اما این کتاب پانوراما رو از انتشارات ققنوس بهتون پیشنهاد می‌‌کنم. کتاب دارای سه داستان کوتاهه که هر سه تا رو دوست داشتم. داستان‌ها خلاقانه و پایانی غیرقابل‌ پیش‌بینی داشتند.

کتاب از سه تا داستان کوتاه تشکیل شده که کاملا واقعی به‌نظر میان، اما رگه‌هایی خیلی خوب از وحشت(اگه ژانری به اسم وحشت اجتماعی وجود داشته باشه) در اون‌ها پیدا می‌شه.

I was curious as to why the book bares the name of the first story although it is a relatively short one. I came to realise that it is because it is the prettiest one. The forst story is more of a description of Donna Amalia which is done in wuite a beautiful way but no plot is added. The second story is a sort of horror story I would assume? The mother is a semi mysterious creature and the author shares no insight into her thoughts. The turn of events is sad and wasily anticipated. The biggest disappointment was the last story which I found completely bleak. The end shares no redemption (which woult have been sort of achieved even if one or two of the children died) but instead goes for a much darker turn of events in which the soul goes into a slow and iminent degradation in lack of hope. I am left with a question mark as to what was the point of the story, to show how people can ruin other people? That is not such a revolutionary topic to cover and could have been pursued in a better novel than this. Considering the quality ofnthe tale I would have went for a more lightweight ending with some redemption.
The book seems to me more of an exercise rhat the author makes to find her voice and style but not so much an engaging journey for the reader.

Dans ces trois nouvelles extraites du recueil Le châle andalou, Elsa Morante aborde principalement le thème de l'enfance. Dans la première, Donna Amalia, celle que j'ai préféré, il s'agit d'une femme d'une cinquantaine d'années qui a su garder son âme d'enfant: elle est autant capable de s'émerveiller devant un collier en or d'une grande valeur que devant un bijou-fantaisie trouvé sur le marché, tout comme elle peut réveiller ses servantes au milieu de la nuit pour leur faire admirer la lune. C'est un récit extrêmement court, sans véritable intrigue: plutôt une description, laissant le lecteur imaginer une suite ou interpréter cette attitude de la manière de son choix.
Dans la seconde nouvelle, La grand-mère, une autre femme se rend compte après la mort de son mari qu'elle a vécu comme une morte et décide de prendre sa vie en main. Elle rencontre un autre homme qui vit avec sa mère qui le traite toujours comme un enfant en quelque sorte. Les deux jeunes gens se marient, malgré la réaction de la future grand-mère qui a l'impression qu'on lui vole son fils.
Enfin, dans la troisième nouvelle, Jeu secret, il s'agit, non plus d'adultes, mais de vrais enfants qui, dans une famille assez étouffante et stricte, jouent en secret au théâtre entre eux et en viennent à délirer, ne distinguant plus leurs personnages et la réalité.
Elsa Morante aborde donc ce thème de l'enfance sous différentes facettes, mais toujours avec un regard extérieur et neutre, se plaçant comme en spectatrice à côté du lecteur, le laissant seul juge des évènements qu'elle raconte, sans se positionner elle-même explicitement.

La nouvelle éponyme est celle que j’ai le moins aimé, mais j’ai vraiment beaucoup aimé les deux autres.
