Every poem is a magic spell, words crafted to entrance, to transform. Illusion and reality mingle in the lines, and none can say which is which, where one ends, where one begins. Nothing here’s real, and nothing is false; these poems are the stuff of dreams and of magic. Magic is a collection of poems from Stephen Brooke.
I think this is the poet's best collection yet. The ;concept' tying it together, i.e. 'magic,' is pretty cool but not essential to enjoying the work. I'm not so sure about the stock illustrations added to the text. They don't hurt but seem unnecessary. Very much recommended. There are great poems in both form and free verse.
This would be my latest poetry collection, as of late 2018, with a bit of a 'magical' theme to it. Some new work, some old, and all stuff that I am pretty happy with.
