Death doesn’t take a rest just because it’s the holidays.
Claire London is busy baking up a storm, but that’s not the only one brewing in Bleu Clair Bay. When a rich real-estate developer set his eyes on the coastal village it threatens to pull the whole community asunder.
That is until the man’s death, which was no accident.
Claire’s ready to sit this one out, but when the investigation zeros in on her friends, she needs to make sure the real killer is caught. Unfortunately that task will be anything but a piece of cake—even with the help of a frisky feline and her dearly departed as a side kick.
I'm a mystery author with a soft spot for romance and humor, too. I love all things girlie with a dollop of danger, have a strong affinity for the color pink (especially in diamonds and champagne), and, not to brag, but chocolate and I are in a pretty serious relationship.
My books are fun and flirty, and feature smart and sassy sleuths. If you love books with a dash of spice and twist of whodunit, you're going to love my work!
I am reading the boxset. This is the second of four books in the set. Claire and Nick are back and it’s Thanksgiving. Claire is living over the bakery, not having decided what to do with London Manor. A real estate developer is interested in buying it, along with other properties. Anyone who has ever loved a small town knows this is not good news. The developer has plans to build condos with a shopping center. The town is against this idea. The county commissioner approved his plans, though, so it looks like a possibility. The good news in this is that Claire has her baking mojo back. I am truly enjoying this boxset. I enjoy the characters. I adore Nick. The stories are pretty fast reads. I find them just right for me at this time of the year. I’m busy with so much that sitting down time can be hard to come by. I’m loving the fact I can sit down with this series and finish the book in one night. Being in a boxset means if I have additional time, I can move right on to the next book. The books are complete though there is the life of Claire that continues from book to book. It is her life that makes me recommend reading this in order, (though absolutely not necessary). I think you will find her relationship with Nick to be interesting. I want a love like that.
Another great little read that will delight. Not only with a great plot (I didn't see the culprit coming at all) but also with the characters and the banter/dialogue between them. They are running flat out at the bakery but the sleazy estate agent still tries to get her to talk about selling the manor. When she has sent him off she notices that nearly all the residents have the same attitude not only to him but also his business partners. Which is why the newcomer is given such a cold shoulder. However when he is found the next morning, having run off the road, no-one is really surprised. It has been really icy! However the bad news comes that his brakes were cut. Now with her assistant under her sister's eye she has to find the killer. Okay there is a motive, he was evicting all the tenants in a block and that included a previous employees that now had her pregnant daughter and young grandson living with her, but she's no killer. More problems face her. Her apartment has no heating and now no electricity - she will have to move. Move into the manor. Now with both the ghosts of her husband and the estate agent the search for the killer takes on a new urgency. Can the find the killer before Thanksgiving as it is just around the corner? How will she cope in that big house by herself?
Book 2 in Spirited Sweets Paranormal is a real Killer Story & the Ghost of the victim is not so Nice
So, what happens when a real estate developer, a city official with permit approval and a small community on a lake shore town all get together? Mayhem, a hateful eye or 100, a possible recall election and a lot of people about to displaced with a couple of weeks notice, snowy weather, icy roads, oh and a death. When our heroine, Claire, a bakery shop of great popularity suddenly sees the real estate developer running through the street screaming to people to help him and no one is listening, Claire hollars out to the man even she had words with over London Manor, stops and says why won't anyone talk to me? She realizes he doesn't even know he's dead! It takes the ghost of her husband, the man who was chasing him, to pop in suddenly and yell Boo for him to realize he's not amongst the living anymore! Any more and I'd give the story away. It's short and priced accordingly. It is also book 2 of 4 so enjoy them, it's a quick read and well worth it if you like a Cozy Paranormal Mystery of the true - whodunit fashion, read Book 2 Decadent Demise~
Decadent Demise is Book 2 in the Spirited Sweets Paranormal Cozy Series. Its the Holidays but trouble has come to Bleu Clair Bay in the form of a real estate developer who has money and LOTS Of it! He wants to change the whole town, that is until he turns up dead.
Claire is busy baking for the holidays and "tries to stay out of it" until her friend Ellen is a suspect. Claire has been seeing ghosts since her husband Nick passed away. She is seeing Nick's ghost and also the real estate developer that was murdered.
I loved this Novella, I enjoy Claire's character and her dearly departed husband Nick. The story is a fun read with a plot that I enjoyed and did not know who the perpetrator was until it was revealed.
Claire London and everyone else in Bleu Clair Bay isn't happy with Edward Slayden, a real estate broker. He is trying to buy up the town and turn it into things "more modern and upscale" than it is used to. Most of the people like their little town the way it is, but that isn't stopping Edward. But when Edward is killed when someone cut his brake lines during a winter storm....let's just say Tonya, the deputy has a big list of suspects. Claire's problem is that Edward is now a ghost and is after her to find out who did this to him! Can Claire and Nick her deceased husband find the true killer before Thanksgiving? You will need to read the book to find out. Go ahead you will enjoy it! I voluntarily reviewed a free ARC of this book, and this is my honest opinion.
"Decadent Demise" is quite the engaging paranormal mystery! The core characters are likeable and believable, the mystery is well-imagined, and the culprit is a complete surprise. It would be incredibly easy to make Nick's and Claire's situation maudlin and over-emotional; instead, the deft and matter of fact writing keeps the attention on the mystery where it belongs. There are a few proofing fails, and it always feels a bit like cheating when there are no clues to lead to the solution, but this is a solid read and enjoyable series.
Decadent Demise is a short, fun read. I like Claire, her dearly departed husband, and the bakery. During the winter holidays, Claire does not have time to worry about another murder. Claire, like almost everyone in the town, disliked the victim and his development schemes. Besides Claire needs some additional help in the bakery - especially with the police focusing on Ellen as the murderer. Can Claire keep the bakery running smoothly and solve this murder? A delightful afternoon diversion.
A cat, a ghost and a bakery... What else do you need for a short but truly entertaining read?
A man who is liked for nobody was kill, and Claire is most than ready to let this one go. She's busy, and with Elle as the main suspect, she really needs to focus on her business. But of course, she can't let her friends on the lurch... and there she goes, with her perky cat and his loved ghost, looking for the truth.
It's almost Thanksgiving and Claire London's café is busy so she's doing a lot of baking. The town has been up in arms about the real estate developer who's buying properties and building high-end projects. When his car goes off the road one night and it's determined that his brake line was cut, it's up to Rachel and her departed husband, Nick, to solve the mystery to prove Claire's friend innocent.
Short and Sweet Cozy Mystery This is the second in the Spirited Sweets Mystery Series. These are short novellas, perfect for lunch break or a short bedtime read. The plot is basic and simple. There are several suspects and lots of motive. The ending is heartwarming. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
A daring little cozy mystery with all my favorite things: cat, bakery goodies, holiday prep and of course humor. The characters are so nice I wish they were my neighbors. This was a quick read, but one of my favorites and I am sure you will feel the same. Enjoy!
This 2nd book was more fun than the first!! I love the addition of a new helper in the bakery! Such a sweet extra storyline. This mystery had Claire back into "who-dunnit mode " LOL, she cant help herself!! I am THRILLLED that I DID NOT GUESS WHO IT WAS!! The sign of a very good mystery!!
This book packs a lot of mystery in a small package. This time a real estate developer is dead set on changing the town forever. These are quick reads with interesting plots and believable characters. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
This is the second book in the series. An excellent addition to the series. I read this book in one sitting, I liked the characters- the old and new. I like how it was written. Looking forward to the next one already.
I liked this book as well as I liked the first novel in the series. The characters are funny, the situations clever. The writing is witty. Solid theme, good pace, never boring. I recommend this series.
I would like to see a full length novel in this series. I enjoy the characters, the plots are clever, and I think a more in-depth novel would go over well. The clean language and behavior are an added plus. Appropriate for all.
I love this book. The bakery when the author was describing it I could imagine the smells. The character are wonderful and they hold your interest till the end.
Couldn't put it down loved the characters and the storyline and can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
The bakery is doing well. Too well in fact! Overworked, Claire takes on an assistant but then there is a murder. Can Nick and the new ghost help her get to the bottom of it? Good story line
Stephanie Damore's Decadent Demise, her second book in the Spirited Sweets Paranormal Cozy Mysteries Series, was a quick moving, entertaining and challenging to solve paranormal cozy mystery.
