My thoughts: Saved by the Lawman was an interesting read. I enjoyed getting to know Chase. Kate seemed rather clinical about the whole thing, and not truly engaged, but it might just be because of who she is career-wise. She fought for her child, but she never seemed to get emotionally involved during the whole thing. I would have liked to see more emotion from her both in the attempted kitnappings and the romance. The suspense part of it was good, and I thought it was pretty cut and dried, but the real bad guy came as a complete surprise.

Saved by the Seal was a great read. I loved the nonstop action in this one as Bree and Clint try to figure out who murdered Bree's friends and why. Fans of romantic suspense love the nonstop action in Susan Sleeman's books and this one, although a novella, had just as much action. The romance developed quick, but both Clint and Bree dated each other before Clint joined the Navy, so it had a jumpstart.

Overall, if you love romantic suspense you will love this dual by these two top romantic suspense authors. Don't miss Her Baby's Protector.

Her Baby’s Protector, which is two novellas in one book, is a great choice for fans of action-packed romantic suspense. I really enjoyed that each story was focused on a woman who needed to keep a baby safe. Each novella also had a strong and confident hero who made it their mission to help protect these women and children.

The stories are slightly shorter since they are novellas. However, I still felt that the characters were fully developed emotionally and that the situations they were in had plenty of time to ramp up and then wrap up in a satisfactory way. Both Saved by the Lawman and Saved by the SEAL contained great romantic tension that felt appropriate for the situations that the various characters were in. This collection is a great choice for the romantic suspense fan.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Her Baby's Protector is a book with two novellas. These novellas include:

Saved by the Lawman by Margaret Daley. Officer and ex-Marine, Chase Walker, must protect widowed family court judge Kate Forster and her infant son after someone attempted to kidnap the baby. This is a good, action-packed, suspense-filled, clean and romantic short read.

Saved by the SEAL by Susan Sleeman. Bree Hatfield finds herself taking custody of her best friends' daughter, Ella, when they were tragically killed. Bree believe they were murdered, even when it was ruled as an accident. She contacts her ex-boyfriend and Navy Seal, Clint Reed, for help. I loved watching these two together and what they will do to protect little Ella. Another good, clean, suspenseful and romantic short read.

Highly recommended.

Her Baby’s Protector is by Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman. It is a compilation of two books. It is an Inspired Suspense book.
Saved by the Lawman is by Margaret Daley. In this book, police officer, Chase Walker, intervenes in the kidnapping attempt by an unknown assailant of the baby of Judge Kate Forester. He knows Judge Forester from court; but has never met her socially. Kate is out jogging when she comes across a tree across the path. She takes her son out of the stroller while she tries to life the stroller over the tree. She sees a man in a ski mask coming across the tree towards her son and manages to get to her little boy first. The man tries to pull Jamie out of her arms. Chase, who is also jogging, hears her screams and comes to her rescue. What he doesn’t know is that he will become involved in several kidnapping attempts by an unknown assailant before they find him. Kate, a widow, tries not to be attracted to Chase but is unsuccessful. However, she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with Chase based on the kidnapping attempts and gratitude. How can she be sure she really loves Chase? Does he love her?
Saved by the SEAL is by Susan Sleeman. Bree Hatfield is trying to raise the young daughter of her friends Laura and Jason. Bree had been babysitting Elly while Laura and Jason spent the night aboard their boat. An accidental carbon dioxide poisoning left Bree to bring up Elly. However, Bree doesn’t think there was an accident. Jason was very particular about his boat and everything would have been pristine; but there was a dent with blue paint on the boat which Laura would have mentioned. Jason was also careful not to run the AC on the boat while they slept. However, no one seems to believe Bree until her house is shot up with Bree and Elly inside. They and Bree’s mother flee to the only safe place Bree can think of, her ex-boyfriend Seal Clint Reed’s house. Here she feels safe until she can figure out what is going on. However, she isn’t planning on sharing the house with Clint. Although they love each other, there were obstacles which were unsurmountable in their relationship. Those obstacles still remain; but they are still attracted to each other as they avoid death.
Both books are great to read. They pull you into the excitement and suspense of the books.

HER BABY’S PROTECTOR is the combination of two wonderful authors. SAVED BY THE LAWMAN by Margaret Daley and SAVED BY THE SEAL by Susan Sleeman are two action packed suspense novellas woven with Christian romance that will have you on the edge of your seat while pulling at your heart strings. Two great stories in one book!

SAVED BY THE LAWMAN emotionally bonds you with Kate Forster from page one. She’s been through so much and just now beginning to think she has a life to live when disaster strikes in the form of an attempted kidnapping of her son. In steps ex-marine Chase Walker who came away from his service to his country with more than the physical scars. He doesn’t think he has the right for a happy life when others died. He meets Kate and her son, knows they are in danger and is there to face it head on. With an immediate attraction, he is drawn to not only do his duty but to make sure nothing happens to Kate or her son, Jamie.

This novella will have you feeling the pain of loss that both Kate and Chase feel and cheering for a budding romance all while taking in the twists and turns of clues and attempts while trying to figure out who and why.

SAVED BY THE SEAL shows the determination of one woman, Bree Hatfield, to prove that the death of her best friends were no accident. Feeling her godchild, Ella, has the right to know what happened to her parents and after police refuse to take notice of her claims, she’s left to investigate herself which places both Ella and her in grave danger. Ex-boyfriend and Navy Seal on leave, comes to her aid in trying to figure out what really happened. However, the feelings he had for Bree never stopped so can he help her without emotionally entanglements? The chemistry is mutual, but the problems that drove them apart before still exist.

This novella is the wonderful story of second chances with the great mix of danger and intrigue not willing to take second spot. It’s a fast paced story, but being a novella doesn’t mean it’s short on delivering a wonderfully written story. It will have you quickly turning pages and jumping up and down yelling hallelujah before you turn the last page.

The stories are like the cover with a bit of danger and intrigue with a willingness to fighting for what is right like the pictured man along with being sweet and enduring like the baby and the protective way the man is holding it.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a great Christian romance with excitement and danger all along the way. You will not be disappointed in either of these stories.

This was a great set of novellas from two of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors! Both stories were packed full of danger and the action never stopped. If you haven't read these authors, this is a great way to test them out. Both stories were developed so they felt complete and natural, not rushed like some novellas can be.

Saved by the Lawman by Margaret Daley:
When off-duty police officer Chase Walker stops an attempted kidnapping of Kate Forster's son, the two of them are determined to figure out who the culprit is. Someone from Kate's past wants revenge, but as a family court judge, the list of suspects is long. Chase will have to put all his skills as a former Marine to use to keep them safe and track down a criminal.

This was a well-written story, with plenty of red herrings that kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed the character's development and the details of the investigation made it a page-turning read. I've not read a lot from Margaret Daley, but I really enjoy her LIS books.

Saved by the SEAL by Susan Sleeman:
After the suspicious deaths of her best friends, Bree Hatfield finds herself the guardian of their infant daughter. She's determined to look into their deaths and prove it wasn't an accident. When someone starts shooting at her house, Bree can only think of one place to go where she'll be safe- her former boyfriend's ranch. Navy SEAL Clint Reed is home on leave for some R & R, until the woman who still holds a piece of his heart shows up with her mother and a baby in tow. He will do anything he can to keep them all safe.

Having a character with a military background was a departure from Sleeman's usual Law Enforcement heroes, but as always, she delivers a great story with well-researched details. I enjoyed every bit of it! I enjoyed how Bree and Clint had a history; it made their brief romance believable.

Recommendation: I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense, especially those who may not be familiar with these authors. This was a great pairing of two similar writers, with both novellas packed full of action and danger. Don't miss out on this great read!

This book is a great deal--two intriguing novellas by two different amazing authors in one book. I've read books by both Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman before and really enjoyed them, so I wasn't surprised to find myself engrossed in these stories. The action took right off from the first page of Saved by the Lawman and continued throughout the last of Saved by the SEAL. Both stories had relatable, engaging characters and strong story lines. I enjoyed the inspirational threads running through the books, and I appreciated that they were clean reads and had no bad language.

A pair of incredible romantic suspense novellas!

I thoroughly enjoy when the novellas contained in one book have something in common. In these two stories there is a woman with a child under 2 years old that is in danger. Enter a handsome man who is willing and able to step up to protect both the woman and the child. There the similarities end.

In both of these novellas the main characters are extremely well developed and easy to understand their fears and hang-ups. I loved all four of the main characters. The children melted my heart and they had to be saved or I was going to be furious with the authors.

The plot lines in each story are fantastic. I was drawn into the situations and intrigued to find out who was behind the danger and why. Yet each story was short enough to read through in one sitting without even losing any sleep.

Bree Hatfield in Saved by the SEAL was very easy to understand. She was furious with the danger and jumped right into “mama bear” mode.

Little Jamie Forster in Saved by the Lawman was delightful. Once he had something he didn’t want to let it go and didn’t understand why at times he had to.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

This is a great two-for-one package of delightful stories from expert writers Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman. Of course, having an adorable toddler in one and a sweet baby in the other, plus two hunky heroes and spunky heroines, make for a winning combo. I enjoyed both of these stories very much. I highly recommend them for readers who don’t have a lot of time to read a full-length book and memorize a lot of characters and follow extensive plots. You can read each story in one sitting (if you want to). They have enough suspense and enjoyable characters that they will keep you captivated. I personally like long books with complex plots, character development over time, and many unexpected plot twists and turns. But this book was perfect for me right now—I squeezed each story into my busy schedule—and savored the quick, relaxing escape each time. Both authors are wonderful writers, and this was a great combo!

Note: I received this book for free without any obligation to read it or comment on it. But I absolutely couldn’t help picking it up, then I enjoyed both stories so much that I wanted to recommend it!

Love...and death...lie on either side...

I've never read any of the Love Inspired novella books before, so, Her Baby's Protector was a first for me. But it was the perfect way to start since the book is by two of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors, Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman.

The stories were a little shorter than I'm used to but were still filled with Margaret Daley's and Susan Sleeman's trademark danger and romance. Her Baby's Protector was an enjoyable, and impossible to put down, read. If you are a fan of these two talented authors or of romantic suspense in general this book is a must read for you.

SAVED BY THE LAWMAN by Margaret Daley

As Kate Forster is out for her evening run with her baby boy a man with a ski mask on tries to snatch him away from her. Hearing her cries for help police officer Chase Walker rushes to her aid. Chase manages to pursue the would-be kidnapper for a while, but when the man jumps in a car and drives away he loses him. As a family-court judge Kate has tried many cases and has made a few enemies. Is one of them determined to kidnap her son to get even with her?

I really enjoyed SAVED BY THE LAWMAN. It was full of suspense and a bit of romance between Kate and Chase. Chase's care for Kate's son was touching and Kate's determination to keep her son safe was inspiring. There was a bit of a twist at the end that I sort of expected to come, but I still enjoyed it.

SAVED BY THE SEAL by Susan Sleeman

Bree Hatfield knows that her friends were murdered even though their deaths have been ruled an accident. Now Bree is raising her friends baby girl and investigating their death. Someone doesn't like her snooping where she doesn't belong. When Bree and her baby's life are threatened she escapes to the only place she knows will be safe. Bree's ex-boyfriend is a navy SEAL pledged to protect people. He's never stopped loving Bree, but his job has made it impossible for them to be together. Clint will stop at nothing to help Bree and her baby even if it means breaking his heart all over again.

It is hard to resist a strong military protector! I loved Clint's character and his desire to protect Bree and her baby. I also loved how he was with the baby. There's something about seeing(or reading) about a strong man who turns to mush when a baby gets put in his arms! I thought the suspense/mystery was well-written as well and kept me turning the pages quickly. Another fantastic read by this author.

Both books were quick reads and both books held my interest throughout with engaging characters and that touch of suspense that kept me wanting more after each chapter finished.

This is two short stories in one. The first story with Kate and Chase is good however I felt like the ending was rushed and didn’t bring the story to an end. Seeing how the relation ship develops between Kate and Chase you can see that for it to work it requires two people do make co
Promises and have trust.

In the second book Clint has to decide what he really wants in life. Does he want to continue to be a Navy Seal or how’s what to become a man who takes control
Of His future. Both good books just personally felt that the endings of both books were cut abrupt.

This book is written my two of my favorite romantic suspense writers. The pacing moved right along, and I was drawn into each of the stories on page one. It's actually hard to believe these were novellas. Sometimes novellas aren't well developed and seem to rush to the end, but not these. These read like full length novels. I loved this book!

"Saved by the Lawman" by Margaret Daley and "Saved by the Seal" by Susan Sleeman are touching stories about strong women and the men who love them. There is a strong threat to each woman and her baby. The men are strong but, each has his weakness. It is pleasant to hear each hero and heroine express their faith and trust in God. Good overcomes evil, but the getting there is thrilling and not obvious. Good adventure and suspense are a part of each story. Great stories by great authors I have followed for some time. When I see their names connected to a book I am ready to buy it and read it.

Neither here nor there

I’m not a big novella or short story person, so I’m sure that influences my feelings here. Both stories felt rushed, and the second story felt like it was tied up all to neatly with a little pink bow. The stories had potential, but kind of fell flat for me.

Her Baby's Protector is a novella with authors Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman.
Daley's story: Saved by the Lawman, follows single mother and family court judge Kate Forester and police officer Chase Walker as they try to figure out who's after Kate and her son and what they could possibly want. The story is full of twists and turns right to the very last page. I couldn't put it down.
Sleeman's story had a very similar plot. In Saved by the SEAL, Bree Hatfield finds herself the mother of her best friends infant daughter after a horrible boating accident. As Bree digs deeper, she finds evidence to prove it was more than just a simple boating accident, and killers start coming after her and her newly adopted daughter. She turns to her ex-boyfriend, navy SEAL Clint Reed for protection. As they search for the person or people who murdered her friends, they discover many suspects. But Sleeman sure does a good job of keeping you guessing. I was shocked by the ending. Both books were fantasticly written, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a book that has both romance and suspense, but with no sexual scenes.

Her Baby's Protector contains novellas by Margaret Daley and Susan Sleeman. They are stand alone novellas with only the theme of a baby being protected and a lawman for a hero in common. These are fast-paced mysteries In both of these stories, the characters are well developed and relatable. Both stories are hard to put down. I received an advance copy from one of the authors. The opinion and rating of this review are entirely my own.

In Saved by the SEAL, Bree is investigating her friends' sudden supposedly accidental deaths while being their daughter's guardian. When the killer comes after her, she runs to her former beau's home to hide out not realizing he's home on leave. Clint joins her in seeking the truth about both the deaths and their former relationship.

Great stories!

Margaret Daley is a new author for me, but I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for more stories by her. Her story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it until the end. Filled with non-stop action, you will be drawn into the thrill of the chase as they try to find the abductor before it is too late.

Filled with many twists and turns, a whole slew of suspects, and danger around every corner, the story will keep you guessing until the very end.

This is a two-in-one novella collection of well written stories. Both stories are filled with suspense, intrigue, and romance. I loved how they both shared the common link of not only protecting a baby, but they also both had men who had served in the military. I really enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it.

Her Baby’s Protector contains two Christian romantic suspense novellas. Saved by the Lawman by Margaret Daley. I love that the main character Kate is a judge and a runner. The book opens with Kate running with her son in the baby jogger. Chase comes to her rescue when someone tries to abduct her son.

I was glad she made the right decision when she found the cell phone. I hate it when women are stupid and don't do the right decision. Chase is a great guy even if he brings some baggage with him from his time in the military. I also like the addition of his dog. Her son was adorable and there were some great scenes between him and Chase and him and the dog; Mac.

Saved by the SEAL by Susan Sleeman is action packed from the first page. Bree’s friends died and she is adopting their baby. She begins to suspect that their death was not an accident. As a result someone is trying to silence her. She goes to the one place/person she knows can keep her and the baby safe; Clint’s ranch. Clint and Bree had a relationship but it didn’t work out with him away on deployments. As they investigate the death and avoid being shot at they are also trying to decide how to handle the feelings for each other. It was appealing to see how men in the military feel they have to put their lives on hold until they retire. They love serving their country but also want the love of a family. The plot reveal was a surprise and I love when an author can surprise me.

I received this book from the publisher/author. I was not required to write a positive review.
