A proud geek and video gamer, and champion of complex female protagonists, Jo brings her page-turning screenwriting style to books to weave well-crafted, suspenseful stories with twists you don't see coming. She writes YA books under Jo Ho and adult romance books under Joanne Ho - most of them featuring dogs!
A self-taught screenwriter, Jo's writing life began when she created the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed CBBC action fantasy television series, "Spirit Warriors," which introduced leading actress, Jessica Henwick ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars: The Force Awakes") to the screen. Granted the biggest budget ever given to a CBBC show at the time, it was nominated for "Best Children's Programme" at the 2011 Broadcast Awards, with Jo herself, going on to win the Women in Film & Television's "New Talent" Award in 2010. Jo even made history for being the first East Asian person - man or woman - to have created a British television drama series.
Since then, Jo has worked with some of the most acclaimed producers in the world with several television shows and movies currently in development, she also writes for games. When she isn't working on her own stories, Jo helps others with their work - she is one of the BFI's (British Film Institute) recommended script consultants.
Jo suffers from MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities), a debilitating condition she has developed over the last few years which has left her mostly housebound. Unfortunately, it is still not officially recognized in the UK despite the World Health Organisation listing it as a physical disability. There is currently no help for sufferers of MCS in the UK. Unable to travel or attend meetings and writersrooms, she has lost many screenwriting opportunities but has refused to allow the condition to rule her life. Despite the wrench life has thrown at her, Jo started to write and publish books.
Her debut novel WANTED, Book 1 of the Chase Ryder series has been a bestseller in 15 YA categories. It also won top prize in the YA Sci-Fi category for the 2018 Readers' Favorite Book Awards. It is her dream to bring all of her book series to screen and she believes she can make it happen with her readers' help!
Jo lives in London and hopes to travel across America one day in a super kitted out, MCS-friendly, Zombie-apocalypse-ready RV with her lovely fella Matt, and three equally lovely kitties.
I enjoyed this book. There’s drama, as Tyler is clearly losing control of herself and Eve is working herself up as she is confronted with a new terror. Plus we’re seeing more of detective Saunders. I can see her being an interesting character as we move forward. Along with the ramping action we are seeing more danger coming from the demons Michael is recruiting. Speaking of Michael I am very curious as to what he has up his sleeve for Cassie. I can’t wait for book ten! I find myself wanting to take longer to read these shorts so I don’t have to wait as long for the next.
In Her Skin is the ninth short serial in the Twisted series.
This is another great instalment to the twisted series and I am still really enjoying it. The magic is fun or should I say the way they are trying to control it but it is the girls themselves that I really like and the bond that they have formed with virtual strangers. The series is very good but it is the way the author also adds something (a twist) that gets you questioning what is going on and is everybody what they seem. This also mean you want to start the next book straight away to find out more. Tyler's sister is still missing but the other girls convinces her that she still needs to help them stop Michael by finding the next black magic artefact, even if that means breaking into a private library to get it. With Micheal's still in side Trips body he uses his insider knowledge from Cassie and is waiting for the girl. Michaels not content with beating the girls to the artefact he also tears up there dorm room looking for the only one there have, he also continues playing mind games on Eve and Cassie. Marley is the only one not being targeted by Michael but then again she has her own problems with her father keeping secrets from her. The police are also beginning to take a closer look at the girls and the strange things that happen around them. I like the narrator as she has put in another excellent performance bringing the girls to life.
The story continues! You have to read the previous episodes because this is an ongoing saga of 4 young women trying to save the world. This episode provides a bit more background into Christopher's life and sets up for some drama in the next installment. This book, like all of the previous, is a page-turner, feeling of "no, don't end. I want to read more" at the end. The awesome thing is, there will be more. The author states she will continue this series for a while yet so all I can do is wait for the next episode! I would love to watch these in a film or television series.

In Her Skin continues or journey with the young witches. They are getting more bold and confident in their lives and abilities. The more I read of this series the more confident I am that it would make a great TV series. The dialogue and descriptions in the writing are just perfect for helping the reader picture what it could look like on a screen. Can't wait to get answers to so many questions. The twists are just enough to keep the suspense going.

Yet again, a great addition to this series. This storyline just keeps getting better and better; there are no words to describe the adventure this series brings you on. this book is just like the others in the sense that there is good action and excellent plot twists. I highly recommend this series for anyone who loves fantasy books

Things are really taking off now. Continuing his plan to gain control, Michael steps up his attacks. As the girls try to find a way to combat the ever growing threat, they find that safe places are few and far between. Their powers may be growing but keeping control and a level head is easier said than done. As family is bought into the equation, it is obvious that things are going to get a whole lot worse...
They break into the library to get the black magical item they need but one will find something out which will shock their world. Things are going to get very interesting for all the girls what happened?.What did they find out? Follow them to see what is going to happen

As with the other episodes in the series, In Her Skin moves at the perfect pace to forward the storyline, develope the characters further and keep your interest and emotions at high alert. Excellent plotting, perfect character depth and heart-pounding events all combine into a wonderful thriller.
I love this series. The characters really speak to me; their flaws tearing through my emotions sometimes making me laugh and other times making me cry. I feel a little piece of each of these girls makes up a part of me. Jo Ho's In Her Skin (Twisted Book #9) and each of the books in this series is beautifully written to convey deep feelings and raw emotion.
In Her Skin, my eleventh read from author Jo Ho & the ninth book in the new series that I began late last year & continued recently, an enjoyable, well-written tale well-woven over the entire length of the short book, the suspense building throughout. An enjoyable series that I look forward to reading. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I received this book for free at my request but the opinion is my own. Tyler is starting to crack as searches for Ally are not turning into anything. The girls go looking for an artifact to help their fight with Michael that turns to be something dangerous. Than there is the cop who doesn’t know much other than the girls are more than they seem.
Jo Ho ratchets it up a notch with this book. It’s like a game of cat and mouse as the girls try to stay one step ahead of Michael and his minions. As the girls slowly discover their magical capabilities the tension and complexity of the storyline is being cleverly woven
The story has original concepts of the developing powers of the 4 friends, which I really enjoy. Many exciting moments, and several unknown threats which keeps the story lively.
