Kneel. Submit. Obey

I have been taken by a man unknown to me.

But he is not the one who holds me captive.

Not whose voice commands me.

Not who watches me with a storm raging in ocean-blue eyes.

It is my captor who knows every inch of my body.

Who trains me for another man to ruin.

But I am not his.

I belong to my requestor.

Whoever he is . . .

For a number of reasons I disliked this story.

It has multiple points of view, so a lot of the story covers the same events in minutiae, first from Mia’s POV and then Ryker’s POV, even when there’s little significance or story movement. The characters could have been developed a lot more in this swapping of POV’s than are.

I knew it was a dark read, first of a trilogy...and was part of BDSM Gang Bang buddy read...but this isn’t bdsm! Isn’t SSC or even Risk Aware. This is abduction and human sex slave trafficking of the sickest kind, and I don’t want to read of anything good from it or of glorifying Mia’s situation at all, because the reality and story building of such a premise is not my idea of enjoyment. It is horrific.

Mia I felt so sad for, and all those Mia’s taken and sold for sex meat by hideous rich and sick bastards and in this day and age it happens for real. None of these abused and abducted kids come back, and as a sex toy they have a very limited life span, as per character, Star, if she were real. She is a representation of some poor girls abducted in life. Many taken must be disposed of in the sickest of ways. And this is what is intended for Mia by her psychopath of a requestor, Junior, who wants someone young and perfect to mess up and destroy.

Ryker, despite his supposed blackmail control by Atterton, is no hero either, he is a man who will do whatever his boss wants, and as we saw, includes murder, so casually done, and as he’s done before. So no, I can’t put him on a pedestal at all.

Final niggle, and one i won’t succumb to is writers ploys or blackmail of leaving the reader on a cliffhanger in order to sell the other books. No chance. Writers should give us the whole story, and charge a fair price, or cut them into stories that can be read as standalones. Better writers do this.

So, sorry, only two stars from me, and that is mainly because the story has been edited and has hardly a typo.

Definitely worth reading again!!!

Dark and amazing story. When the warnings tell you it is a dark book and you've been warned, you listen to it. I, however, love dark books and for me the darker the better. This is the first book of the series and I can tell it probably will get even darker in the next one. It pushed my boundaries of what I'm comfortable with but really that's one of the reasons I enjoy dark romances. I felt so bad for Mia. She was really in a hopeless situation but trying to stay as strong as possible. I wanted to hate Ryker so much but in all honesty I couldn't. He really is growing on me and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. The one thing that bothered me a little bit was the placement of the POVs felt all over the place when the POVs would back up the story and tell it again in the other persons perspective but it certainly isn't too big of a deal to keep me from finding out what happens next. If dark romances are your thing then you definitely need to read this book.

“NO SPOILERS WHAT SO EVER”

2 stars and here’s why...

I honestly don’t like this book because of how the characters function, also I’m not into humiliation and this book was full of it, either way I wouldn’t read it again, HELL, I’m not sure I will read the second book even though the first one ended in a cliffhanger.

The hero (Ryker): does what another person orders and that’s not my cup of tea nothing makes me loose interest more than a hero with no backbone, also he acts towards the heroine like he has multiple personalities, which I hate, no ALPHANESS whatsoever, I rate the hero 1 star.

The heroine (MIA): is innocent and all, but I hate how she got comfortable around the hero so fast, I mean come on!!!! He hit, humiliate, chained you, but she still has a thing for him, ew just ew, I can’t even deal with her, I rate her 1 star.

Over all 2 stars because of the charters rating other than that, this book has no other interesting plot...

Why am I not excited!! 😒😒

This book is a first for me with this author. It's intense, it's a roller coaster ride full of powerful emotions. Innocence corrupted, abducted, abused, slavery, it's the dark side of life. Intense story lines that I'm glad I've I will never have to suffer like these girls have.
Some parts are hard to read, if you have problems with brutality then this book is not for you.
It's a hard book to put down as the author captured and led us on a journey of conflict and how two people come together through protecting others.
This is a first in the series and leaves you wanting.

DNF @ Chapter 6, 23%. I gave it 1* for the Cover.

"I consider banging on the other door, the one that opens and closes only to let him in. I consider screaming and yelling at the glass in the little square window. But instead, all I do is lower myself to the ground, my back sliding against the wall as I return to the corner with the chains, hugging my knees to my chest."

She's chained by her wrists held above her, with her back to a wall. Yet later she'll tell us she's lashed from behind her by her captor; that he lashes her also behind her knees. He must be a contortionist then, or invisible maybe. 😂 I don't know how she thinks she can get to the door to scream through the tiny window in it; she's chained by the wrists from above, and cannot move away from the wall???

There's a bed with a blanket in this room; she's stark naked. It's a room with no heating, a concrete floor, and a bathroom with no towels. Regarding the concrete she says:

"My eyes are stuck on a pebble encased in the concrete. It is red, and in stark contrast to the black, white and gray monotony of the rest."

Never seen, red, white, black and grey concrete; sounds groovy. 😂 😉

Does she think to wrap herself in the blanket as she's cold and naked? Not our heroine, of course not. In fact she even decides not to bother trying to cover her nakedness with her hands, as she suspects it'll turn her captor on more. Even though she also admits she sees no 'lust or desire' for her in his eyes. She also can see the THREE different colours of his eyes, yep three, after being blindfolded for maybe days, from across a room, immediately after having it removed. Amazing eyesight eh?

"Blue eyes stare back at me. No. They are green. Blue and green and gray, like the color of the ocean during a storm." 👀 🙄

Screaming (lots of it) got her nowhere but she's still 'considering' it. All it got her so far was a lashing with something or other as punishment - on the soles of her feet. Ouch!! She's been warned umpteen times to SHUT UP, but not our girl. Oh no. I thanked him when he finally gagged her. But then he had to tell her to breathe through her nose, as she forgot she had one. 👃

"Whack! His hand strikes my wet backside and the pain is instant, worse than the lash, but still nothing I can’t handle."

She's being beaten, lashed, on the soles of her feet, and hit with his hand while she's soaking wet after showering, but she's indifferent to it all. She keeps telling us it's nothing, she can handle it. Her mother told her she has a high pain threshold since she broke her wrist in two places, as a little girl. She waited THREE days before she told her mum. She didn't cry once. 😂 🥴 I broke my wrist as an adult and fainted from the pain, after they'd put the caste on it. This is BS.

"I was modeling a purple cast, my wrist broken in two places. I never cried, never complained. It’s time to test her theory."

She's so blase about being lashed and beaten, that I had to stop reading this rubbish. She's as dumb as a box of rocks. How do I know? She banged her head against a brick wall after he ignored her incessant screaming. She did it to attract his attention. 🤔 😂 🥴

I should have given up after the first chapter, but sometimes I'm a sucker for punishment. FREE to read with Kindle Unlimited. Would I recommend you read it? 😂

Long, repetitive and ends on a cliffhanger

Everything I dislike about a book is right here. It's only a first part of a story. Mia is taken, trained by Ryker to be owned by Junior (the Requestor). It starts off really well - intriguing and interesting until the next chapter is told from another POV right from the beginning again! Every part of the events are told over from all three's points of views. Word for word conversations repeated, I ended up skimming.
Cut it down to the actual plot and it is actually good but then it just ends, to be continued... Hmm, read another book of repetition to find out what happens? No thanks.

Sabre Rose is a new author for me and when i found her on booksprout,i really wanted to know her story. More to the point,i needed to read this intrigueing trilogy. And i was pleasantly surprised, because it’s a well written, captivating story. One i want to know more about.
About Mia and what her requestor intends to use her for. About Mia and what her trainer,Ryker will do to prepare her. How far his loyalty to the family of her requestor goes.....What will happen to Mia,that’s what i want to know!

This book is terrible. I love a good, dark book, but this just glorifies sex trafficking as a fantasy that should be ok. It's not okay. The only recommendation I would give is for people to not waste your time on this book and to stay away.

Great read

I enjoyed this dark tale but I won't say much as I don't want to give anything away. I will comment on one one reviews which states that the story repeats itself as it told by 3 pov's and that she skipped chapters because of this .
Well she missed out because although it covers the same time frame and is repeating the scene for want of a better phrase it's interesting to see what the other characters are thinking at that time. It allows you to see into the other characters mind . One is trapped in a room another is trapped by personal circumstances and the other is a spoilt twisted individual who gets what he wants . I will definitely purchase the next part of this story. In fact I will do as soon as I have finished typing.

Interesting start

Liking the premise of the story so far, but the redundancy of different points of view knock it down a notch. Want the story to move a little faster. Hopefully part two will get to the heart of the story.

Let me begin by saying that I actually finished all three books in this trilogy - a rarity for me. I read a lot of books, but I’m terrible at finishing things. This story was good, though.

I liked this story for one major reason - Mia is her own hero. She doesn’t wait around for Ryker to grow some courage. Sure, Ryker is there, and he’s helpful. Mia is the strength of the series, though. Does Ryker deserve her? Not even close, but he’s allowed to keep trying I suppose.

Overall, the story flowed well over three books. I never felt unsatisfied when the ‘intermissions’ came. The mystery of it all, of Ryker and his sister, unfolded appropriately. Most of all, the ending of the series is believable. Unrealistic HEAs seem so disingenuous, like the author is pandering to us readers. This ending is solid, though - not wrapped up with a pretty bow, but satisfying.

Also Junior’s POVs - I have to believe that’s exactly what a psychopath’s inner-thoughts are like. It was very fun to read.

It was kinda irritating

The story is good what killed it for me is reading from 3 different POV I couldn't stand that. You start off and you're seeing everything through Mia's eyes and then once we get further along it swaps over to Ryker he's the bodyguard to the father who's son took a liking to Mia and decided he wanted her, then we have to read from Juniors POV who is the son so basically it's like getting 4 chapters into the book to have to start all over again and read 4 more from Rykers perspective and then 4 more from Juniors. Yes we do learn a tad bit more info like for instance who it is that kidnapped Mia, who the trainer is training her, so on so forth. However in my opinion it's a bunch of wasted time she could have easily given us that info by blending it in with the story not making you have to start over and over and over. I skimmed through most of the book because I just didn't have the desire to read some of it. I doubt I will read the others this is not my style of writing.

Boring as the story was told needlessly from multiple points of view. Although the situation was dark, the hero was not. Instead he was thrust in a situation with little choice which made him come across a bit weak for my tastes. The heroine was stupidly stubborn when she could have made her captured arrangement milder and easier on both them. Won’t be following this series.

Dark

This first book of the Requested trilogy is a variety of dark images of life. The Requestor, Junior, is the entitled, unstable son of Mr. Atterton, whose money comes from both legal (horse racing) and illegal (female slave trade) sources. Junior sees Mia at a bar one night and decides he wants to own her. She is kidnapped and taken to a facility where Atterton's abducted women are broken and trained. The regular trainer is too rough and physically abusive for what his son wants, so Mr. Atterton asks Ryker, one of his bodyguards, to train Mia.

Ryker is indebted to Mr. Atterton, who saved him and his younger sister from the streets when they were small children. This indebtedness is also tinged with the fear of what could happen to his sister if Ryker doesn't do whatever is asked of him. He takes on the task of training Mia, although he has never done anything like that before.

This story is very dark and pushes a lot of boundaries. Mia, an only child, has been raised in a very normal household by loving parents. Although a quiet and reserved individual, her captivity brings out a defiant streak which creates issues in her training for the inexperienced Ryker, who is unable to sufficiently separate himself from this task.

The author writes this book from multiple points of view. I found this to often be redundant when the same piece of the story was told by both Mia and Ryker. But other than this issue, the story is developed and written quite well. It is very descriptive in all respects, and the primary characters are being portrayed in a manner that allows the reader to appreciate their strengths and weaknesses.

The one consideration that needs to be made before beginning this trilogy is the darkness of the storyline and many of the characters that inhabit it. If you're sensitive to many of the areas that are addressed by abduction and slave training, you should probably take a pass on this. It is not BDSM, as there are no concerns about consent or consideration of the other's safety or needs.

This is a mixed review and I apologise for this in advance
I am angry, and disappointed and it is my fault. I selected this book thinking this was something else and I was angry, frustrated and so disappointed in the story from early in the book. The story is well written, it is just not the story I expected.

I could not put this down reading this in one session of 90 minutes. This is a dark novel giving breaking a woman into a sex slave. Soul destroying with any soft moments quashed As Mia is prepared for Junior.
I wanted the book to lighten at some point and it doesn’t, there is no HEA, there is no ‘get’s his comeuppance ‘ this is just soul destroying and left me flat and numb and then I got angry.

But.... kudos to the author. This is a well written with a ‘cannot put this book down’ and invokes a strong reaction.
This is a book in three parts and not a series. This is not a genre I normally follow but I will read the next book (and I do not expect any light moment) but I will take a peek at the end of the third book before I choose to read it.

I have given it 4 stars, it might deserve better but I do not love this but I think this might haunt me.

Good beginning

I really enjoyed this book. Ryker and Mia are from different worlds, but are brought together by another man's request. It is part one of a series, and has no ending. I bought books 1 through 3 as a set and plan on reading the next two soon.
I found nothing wrong with the editing in this book. Yay! Surprisingly, that's hard to say these days.
The reason I took this down to 4 stars is because 1) it's not a complete story and really only the beginning of one, and 2) there are 3 different POVs in this story that are just laid out weird. The Prologue is 1 POV. The next few chapters are the h's POV. Then we switch to the H's POV, but instead of the story continuing, it goes back to the beginning from his POV. It does this a few times throughout the book. I found this to be slightly off-putting.
I wish the author could have found a different way to tell each character's POV rather than retelling the same story through 2 different POV's separately. Slight overlapping, I can get behind, but 5-10 chapters being retold through another POV is distracting from the story.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Mia Never stood a chance, she didn't even know her life was about to change and not for the good. Mia didn't know that a man called junior wanted her and not in a normal relationship. He wanted to own her. And what He wants he gets. His Father Mr Atterton is rich He is a bit of a collector, Horses and women. He has his own collection of women. Always beautiful. His son junior had made some strange demands about Mia But he knew that Junior couldnt be trusted to train Mia himself. He had no patience and he knew his son was cruel, if honest he didn't believe Mia would last long with Junior.
Mr Atterton called his trusted body guard Ryker and tells him he is to train Mia to Juniors instructions and commands. Ryker has never done anything like this and is not happy but what can he do? Mr Atterton is well known in the criminal underworld and he doesn't want any trouble for his sister and himself.
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and boy does it leave you on a cliff hanger that just keeps you begging for more.

Kidnapped and trained to service another man.

This is a very dark story, and I have to admit that I am very fond of such stories. This one was, perhaps, a bit darker than I usually gravitate to, but once I started I found I could not put it down. The story was very well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were solid and realistic, with emotions that you could feel yourself. And while the basic premise may sound familiar, there were enough twists and turns to the action to keep you off balance and make it fresh.

The only jarring element was the changes in perspective from one character to the next. I felt that there was too much repetition of material as you relived a scene from another point of view. I like the different perspectives when they move the story forward, but these were used too often and seemed to move the story backwards.

Nevertheless, the story was quite engaging and I look forward to reading the next one. One note of caution: The book ends on a cliffhanger.

Recommended.

I had an idea what I was going to think of this book not too far into chapter one. Then when he states, "She will be mine," it felt more than a little stalker-ish. I didn't find him intriguing, I found him creepy. Then, when his first inclination (not acted upon) to being bumped into by a drunk is violent and brutal, I was damn near done right there.

With the set-up given, when his disdain for his surroundings and the people that inhabit them changes to glowing, almost laser-like focus on the woman he came there to see, the damage was already done for me. That adoration only came across as more stalker-like.

Then Chapter Two opens and you find out what happened to the object of that adoration.

Yeah yeah... dark romance and all that. No, I don't intend on finishing the rest of the book, and I'm only up to Chapter Five. Yes, I find him that reprehensible. I have no idea how this thing turns out, and I don't care. I'm not going to pass judgment on the people that liked this, but I can't get into the human trafficking/stalker feel to the opening on this.

Sorry Sabre Rose. Technically, you write well, but I just can't get into your premise.

Wow, what a fantastic first book in this trilogy.

This book pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you wanting more. This book does end in a cliffhanger, because it is the first book in this wonderfully written, twisted, dark romance.

Mia is a small town, eighteen year old girl who is living in her own little safe bubble. She has her parents, her friends and she loves to sing. Although she rarely sings in public, every now and then her best friend talks her into singing at a local bar. It's during one of these times she is noticed by a man that alters her life, this man is her requestor. She becomes an unwilling captive to a reluctant, Ryker, who is now her captor. Grab this book and find out what happens when these two must do things they don't want to, all for the sake of protecting someone else. This is a great first book in this series and I'm looking forward to the next one to find out more of Mia and Ryker's story.

Why I gave 5 stars

”dark” books are becoming increasingly popular, gone are the days when both parties liking kink was considered taboo, now days taboo is a wed that means different things to many people.
This book is about being rich enough to have anything you want, being above consequence, it is also about being owned and how being used can become a bldouble edged sword.

The reason I gave 5 stars is because the author has taken the step to write from the POV of the three main characters, each given them 3 chapters! It can become a bit repetitive reading the same chapter from different POV, however the other captures the thoughts and feelings quite well, after all the captive and the trainer are both owned and in a situation that neither wants.
The requestor comes across as a - I'm rich I can have what ever I want- .

It a short book, with book 2 available, however. With book 1 being ”believable” I'm feeling that book 2 is going to ruin the story line that the author has built.

Oh my word! I just don't know what other to say than that this book roped me in, hook, line and sinker. 5 stars is not nearly enough!!!

The author is so talented, I felt every single tear dropped, every scream wretched from Mia's lungs, everything. It was just, one word, phenomenal. I was trapped in that room. I thoroughly enjoyed the way there was a stretch of Mia's point of view, then we go back to the view of Ryker and his view. Then we get Mr. Requester's point of view in there.

It is such an intriguing, captivating, and not overly dark story. I still have hope. And there is so much more to it than what meets the eye here! Not your typical captive novel. This is one of the best I've read in this category! I cannot wait to read the second installment!

Started really well until it wasn't

I loved the idea of this book. The story started as a captivating, dark, twisted take of a beautiful 18 year old, from a small town, that has a simple life and sings like an angel. She is kidnapped and imprisoned, to be trained for obedience and pleasure for the son of a rich man. Her trainer does as he is told and keeps fighting the attraction he feels for her. There is some drama involving other trainers and captives. It would be well written if the author did repeat the same scenes by the trainer's pov. What is the point of that? There are 3 povs in the book: Mia (the captive), Ryker (the trainer) and the requestor (son of the big boss). Pretty much all of Ryker's pov is a repeat of Mia's, in my opinion that is lazy writing. Apart from that the story is really good.
