Author Note: Although this series is loosely connected to The Billionaire's Obsession series, it stands alone and can be read without reading The Billionaire's Obsession series. But this is a steamy alpha billionaire romance, so skip it if you dislike sensual romance and explicit language.

My name is Eva Morales, and I was one step away from being homeless when Trace Walker came into my life. I want to hate him because of my past, but I end up making what I consider a "devil's bargain" with the arrogant young billionaire instead. Really, I have no choice. It's either take the work he's offering or starve, and I've been hungry long enough.
I didn't think being his fake fiancee for the holidays would be a difficult job, but it ends up more complicated than I ever imagined, and I see a whole new side of Trace once he lets his guard down. He's haunted by his past--just like me, But there are things I can never tell him, secrets I don't dare reveal.

Sexy billionaire Trace is Gage’s cousin we met in Billionaire Unbound (The Billionaire's Obsession #8). I found him intriguing and wanted to know his story. So when I received Ms. J.S. Scott’s newsletter and discovered that she was releasing Trace’s story as a Christmas surprise, I was glad!
So there’s no question, every time this lady comes out with a book I know I’m going to love it before I even read the first page. This book was no exception and I enjoyed everything from start to finish.
Can’t wait to read about Sebastian and Dane Walker.

This was a surprise book, but what a wonderful surprise!!! Trace and Eva are so wonderful together. They each have so much heartache but together their lives just seem to gel. If you love romances this is one you don't want to miss. Jan's books are well worth the price to keep in your library and read over and over again!

This was another one where the premise of the fake engagement didn't make a whole lot of sense.
Trace hires Eva to play his fiance in order to show his ex, who is now dating his younger brother, that there is no way he'd take her back.
Like in what universe would a woman think dating her ex's vulnerable younger brother is the answer to winning him back? To me, it just shows that she's manipulative and evil to try and play both brothers against each other and if the H is too stupid to see that, they deserve each other. This villian was just dumb IMO.
Luckily for us, Trace does see right through her and she literally is just an annoy pest in the few scenes she comes out in.
Mostly this focuses on Eva and Trace finding each other at the perfect time and falling in love. But their familial connection was also weird and felt unnecessary.
Trace's father married Eva's mom in a quickie wedding in Las Vegas and then on the way home, both died in a plane crash. So we have the taboo element that Eva and Trace are actually step brother and sister. Not so taboo since they never even met and because Eva's mom was a raging psycho path, never even mentioned she had a daughter.
This was insta-love and super fast paced but when you take all the crazy OTT bits, this was actualy a really sweet romance with a guy who was super supportive, caring and protective of his h and an h that was both sweet and damanged (she has some self esteem issues) that learns to leave the past behind and accept happiness and love.
Would I recommend?
I liked it for the most part so I can see myself recommending this one when you have a couple of hours too kill and aren't looking for an easy insta-love read with some steam.

I can't believe I had this little gem on my reader for weeks and kept passing it over. Such a sweet Cinderella-esque story, with smutty goodness woven in!
Trace was a serious and focused hero. At age 21, he took over the family business upon his father's death. Now he's 27 and determined to be the backbone of the family, like his father was.
Eva, although down on her luck, was a great heroine. She had seen so many hard times. She had no one in her life that she could depend on. She approached Trace desperate for a job, and he had a perfect position for her.
This totally worked for me.
-zero cheating.
-Trace didn't come across as a manwhore (He had one girlfriend in the past and she attempted to cause trouble in this story but wasn't successful)

Overall Opinion: This was a quick, easy, light, and cute read. It has relatively low angst. It was of course predictable that they'd fall for another -- because they always do right? ;) But it was still an enjoyable read.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Eva and Trace's story. The meet when Eva goes to his office in hopes of attaining a job in one of his many resorts. He offers her the highly paid job of being his fake fiancé over the holidays. The more time they spend together, the façade starts to diminish as they develop real feelings for each other. There are some secrets being revealed, some sexy times, some family drama, and some ex drama...but they get their HEA in the end.
POV: This alternated between Eva and Trace's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I did skim a little in the part win the H's family drama, but otherwise it had a good flow. I read it fast.
Instalove: Not really. It took a while to develop, but it was pretty quick since the book takes place over a short amount of time (~Thanksgiving to Christmas)
H rating: 3 stars. Trace. He was sweet for Eva, but otherwise meh.
h rating: 4 stars. Eva. I liked her determination and honesty.
Sadness level: Low. I didn't need any tissues.
Heat level: Moderate. They have some good chemistry.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex:Yes. They use condoms until he realizes she's on birth control and they're both clean.
OW/OM drama: The H has an ex that is with his younger brother and has expressed interest in getting back together with him. She causes a little bit of drama at the end, but it is resolved easily.

This was a Cinderella story but began with H hired h to be his fake fiance.
At first, I thought H was just another self-centered rich man, but it turned out he was sweet and considerate, not only to his brothers but also h.
When I thought the drama was going to happen, it didn't happen the way I thought, what a surprise.
If you're in the mood for a Cinderella story, try this book.

So I’m on a romance binge right now, I guess with Valentine’s Day around the corner and being married for 11 years with two kids I wanted to escape to steamy and flutter balls in the tummy, so far they’ve been enjoyable enough. But. Yep, a but, this ones insta love and insta problem solve with limited twists and turns was a bit much. Plus the plot was was too predictable after the second chapter. The plot for her to be his fake fiancé made no sense at all to me either.
It was t a horrible book for me, and I know if you’re looking for the wambam thank you man love story than this is for you.
Over all not going to continue with series but don’t feel like I wasted 5 hours I’ll never get back.

A surprise release that blew me away. Nobody knew that this Author was even writing a story of Trace Walker who many would have been introduced to in Chloe's story 'Billionaire Unbound'.
I was so intrigued by Trace and wanted to hear more, so imagine how excited I was reading a post saying 'surprise release' I downloaded and devoured with a huge smile on my face.
Trace takes over running his father's company when tragedy strikes. It's not that he never wanted the job but he thought he had many years before he took on such a huge role. He insistantly became the leader of his two brothers, Sebastian and Dane,not willing to show weakness at a time when they needed him the most. By building a wall around himself and taking control of every situation he's never allowed himself to really live, love and laugh, until the day Eva walked into his office.
Eva is a beautiful woman inside and out, considering the mother she had and the life she has had to deal with, it's a miracle her heart has remained intact, loving and very giving.
If anyone deserves a break and a chance at happiness it's Eva.
No story is ever complete without a few surprises and I was definitely surprised at the plot in this book. Let's just say certain topics are considered taboo in life but yet if you read this story, I think you will agree it's far from taboo, more it was destined to happen.
Really, who makes up the rules of life? Sometimes you just have to take a chance. Trace is not about to let Eva go so perhaps the sooner she is on the same page the better.
I have been fully fulfilled once again by this Author. Her stories take me just far enough for a thrill and beyond my wildest dreams of romance.
Thank you so much for this surprise book. As always, I am looking forward to reading more books by Author J.S.Scott.

Eva Morales es una joven con un pasado bastante triste y complicado cuyo último recurso para sobrevivir lo tiene el multimillonario Trace Walker al que acude desesperada por buscar trabajo. Ese trabajo no es lo que esperaba y mucho menos con un hombre por el que no siente mucha simpatía.
Desde que descubrí esta autora no ha dejado de sorprenderme, sus novelas no son extensas pero están bien escritas y son bastante entretenidas. Dentro del género erótico creo que es de las que destaca por no contener sexo en todos y cada uno de los capítulos; qué queréis que os diga, estoy cansada de las típicas novelas cuyos protagonistas no paran de echarse “pinchitos” jajaja y ninguna historia que merezca la pena mencionar.
En este caso me ha enamorado la historia de Eva y su romance con Trace, el mayor de los hermanos Walker es un macho alfa típico de estos libros aunque quizás edulcorado (si lo comparo con la otra serie de la autora), su relación con Eva es bonita y se complementan a la perfección. Eva es un personaje que es difícil de odiar no así su abuela cuya relación no entendí y bueno el otro personaje ni lo menciono porque es de lo peor (cuando leáis el libro sabréis a quién me refiero).
En fin que me ha encantado el libro, con un final como a los que le gustan a la autora y a mí también, jeje. Ya estoy enganchada para conocer a los restantes hermanos Walker, tanto Dane como Sebastian.

WOW WOW WOW
This is a fantastic Story, it also shows Author J.S. Scott ability to be within the trends, Yes its a step-bro Novel of sorts but it is also so much more. A wonderful fairytale and another great read from the Queen of ROMANCE.
When most of your life has been a struggle you find it impossibly hard to believe someone would care about you. When all the doors have been closed and people who were meant to protect you have done nothing but expose you to a life of misery and danger what do you do? Who do you turn to? Eva is strong, beautiful and a total survivor, she has had her share of bad situations, so when an opportunity arises and she reaches for it grabbing with all she has, last she expected was to be propositioned by a charming and utterly hot Alpha Billionaire.
Fans of Jan's Series will love this book and I can't wait to get the next instalment in the Walker Brothers Saga.

Sweet. I liked Eva. She was almost too much of a martyr. But she did not go overboard. I also really liked Trace. This was low angst. Pretty much insta love.

My heart is overflowing after reading RELEASE: A Walker Brothers novel! No one writes big, brawny, big-hearted billionaires like the magnificent J.S. Scott and she has proven her grandeur yet again with this surprise book!
Twenty-seven-year old billionaire tycoon Trace Walker needs to hire a fake fiancée for the holidays, but the hungry, penniless woman who comes into his office, begging for employment, isn’t exactly the ideal candidate for the job. Even if I read these books out of order, I really enjoyed Release! It was sweet, hot, and made a lot of sense, especially because I'd already met Trace in Sebastian's book :)

Release!: A Walker Brothers Novel (The Walker Brothers Book 1 is by J.S. Scott. This goes along with the Billionaires series. The characters are very realistic and personable. You really get to know the main characters very well by the time you are finished. There are some explicit sex scenes so this should be kept away from under aged people.
Trace Walker had taken his position as head of the Walker family as well as head of Walker industries very seriously. He had always known he would take over the company someday; but never dreamed he would take over due to his Father’s death. His Father and his new wife had died in a plane crash on their way home from their Las Vegas wedding. His youngest brother, Dane who had just graduated from high school, was badly injured in the crash and now was scarred badly. Because they had to get back to college for exams, Trace and Sebastian had left earlier after the wedding. After a fiasco of a fling with Brittany, Trace did not have much to do with women except on a one-night basis. Now, he needed a fake fiancé. His friend, Chloe, was sending a friend of hers to see him. This friend needed some extra money so agreed to do the job. Now he was ready to interview this friend.
Eva Morales desperately needed a job. She decided her only step left to take was to see Trace Walker in person and ask for a job. She was terrified to see him; but knew she had to. The interview started off badly when he assumed she was Chloe’s friend. However, she told him the truth of who she was and that she just wanted a job, not as a fiancé. He promised her a choice of jobs anywhere in the world when the job of being his fiancé was finished. It would also include a wardrobe and money when she finished. Trace, our hero, needs a woman to be his fake fiance during the Christmas holidays. In walks Eva, who is looking for a job, through a misunderstanding a deal is made, but Eva cannot lie and tells him the truth of their actual meeting. A little bit of shocker, of who she is to him and why she felt she had to go to him and get a job. Poor girl has been through a very horrible and difficult life and then framed for something she did not do. But Eva is a fighter and continues to move forward hence her reason why she is at Trace's office. Trace fights his feelings for Eva. Her soul is honest and she is beautiful to him. Slowly she breaks down his walls and they do find their HEA! We also get to meet Trace's other 2 brothers, Sebastien and Dane, whom I hope will get stories as well. Filled with hot steamy sex and very little angst, I enjoyed their story and look forward to more from Ms. Scott.

Honestly by the main characters , Understanding from their personal point of view, the working towards a better relationship. This was so many strong positive aspects to this introduction of the Walker Family I'm speechless , and don't quite know where to start...
The emotions push through so much in the dialogue I cried, and laughed along with the characters.. I meet the future possibilities by the author and I'm so looking to more of the Walker Family

A surprise book from one of my favorite authors. An intro into a new family. The Walkers. Trace Walker has decided he needs a fake fiancé for the upcoming holidays. Eva Morales will be the one filling that "job position". Few surprises along the way, but one of my favorites is when Eva gets Trace to do things he has never done before, like go to the grocery store. A fun, light, steamy hot read! Loved this!

Loved the heroine! She suffered so much because of her disgusting mom and she totally deserved her happy ending with her gorgeous man!
I could've done without all the evil drama caused by the former other woman Britney, but the H's total hate for Britney more than made up for it!
I don't know if I'll be reading Dane's book, because I think he's an idiot for putting up with Britney after she was the H's mistress!

I love Trace and Eva. They are perfect for each other. I wish some parts were elaborated on a bit more but overall it was a great start to a series!!!
