Roger Long has published countless articles and eighteen books on murders, curiosities, and the supernatural. He has been interviewed hundreds of times on six local radio stations. Four of Roger's books have been published by The History Press. He lives in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
This is a collection of 18 murders, many of them previously unpublished, drawn from local newspapers covering Old Berkshire. Many of the accounts of these murders from 1825 to 1948 are short and with little commentary or analysis, just recording of the main facts at the trials. I guess it will be of more interest to Berkshire readers rather than for any insight into the criminal justice system.
An easy book to read, well researched and compiled (the third in a series by this author). I wish though that he had not bewailed other writers (ie plagiarists) in his preface as this may be heart felt but got the book off on the wrong tone.
