Cheese making company owner Jordan Harris is hoping that selling her failing business will keep her employees from losing their jobs. Dairy manager Travis Thomas doesn't have faith the new owners will keep the company intact. Instead, a magazine article on the plane gives him the inspiration for his half-baked plan -- if he can make Jordan fall in love with him on the plane ride, maybe she won't sell the dairy.

So, Travis isn't terribly bright and kind of a jerk if he's trying to get her to fall for him just to save jobs. Thankfully, this is a romance novel, not real life, and all's well that ends well. It's an okay novel, with flaws in plotting and occasional spelling mistakes, but it's still quite readable.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I've never read any of the Getaway Bay stories, but I have read many of this author's other works, so when I was offered a copy of it to read, I didn't hesitate too much! While it was an interesting story overall, I did have some issues with it.

Firstly, some of the business aspects of the story didn't seem realistic to me. Why wouldn't Jordan talk to Travis when she first came on, to learn the ins and outs of the day to day operations that could have changed while she was away? Why did Travis never tell Jordan of her father's plans that they had spoke of before his death? Why go so far into debt before exploring other options for funding the company? I would have thought she would have had a plan in place for immediate growth, advertising or something of the like. It just didn't make good sense to me!

Then, we get to the interaction between Travis and Jordan as a pair. He immediately set out to hurt her, without knowing one thing about the business side of the ranch, and came off like a petulant jerk in the process. Then, he decides he wants to make her fall in love with him so she'll do whatever he wants...hello, manipulative much?!? I lost all respect for him there, and then he can't believe that she'd rescue him from the plane? Yeah, not the greatest Bonnie Paulson hero out there. I liked how strong Jordan was, how she explained what she'd done to save the company, what the problems were that she'd inherited. She was pretty strong and cool in the crisis, despite her injuries, which I appreciated.

Finally, there's the plot issues. I would have liked to known what caused the rift between Jordan's brother and their father. Not enough detail was given there for my tastes. There's some pretty abrupt shifts too, that came across rather glaringly in the story, and pulled me out of the immersion. There's also no indication of what happened to the pilot, and other than Travis' assumption that the pilot dragged him out of the plane, no further mention of him either. I have a hard time believing that they'd be so callous as to have no concern for him at all!

All things considered, while this is a shorter read of Ms. Paulson's, there are better stories that she's published available. I'm curious enough to see what's next for the series, so I will be looking up Getaway Bay as soon as possible!

It was...okay. (SPOILER ALERT)

This wasn’t a bad read, but for me the characters lacked depth and chemistry. Jordan seemed unnecessarily naive, and their relationship was a bit awkward, in my opinion. The story left me with a lot of questions regarding believability. How could Jordan explore the tiny island and not notice land just across the bay? How is it that Travis changed Jordan’s clothes while she was passed out, and there wasn’t any spark, at all? And why does she just meekly accept everything that happens to her (Travis changing her clothes, her dad’s death, phone convo with Bart, Travis’ lies, a new account, etc.) without any real showing of emotion? And how is it possible that Travis made it back from the plane with all of their luggage, the entire contents of the mini fridge, a wooden shoebox full of cheese, the first aid kit, a radio, and a flare gun with spare flares ALL IN ONE TRIP, using only the strap from Jordan’s purse to lash it all together?

I liked the idea of being back in Getaway Bay for a new series, but I’m not sold. I hope the author decides to flesh this book out a little more and re-release it. The basic plot works, but it doesn’t quite meet its potential yet.

Bonnie R Paulson kept me reading until the end way past my bedtime...in Stranded with the Boss! But it was worth it! Jordan Harris’s family owned a cheese factory, but when her father died he left it in a lot of debt she couldn’t overcome, try as she might. The only solution she saw was to sell it and make sure the employees, who were like family, kept their jobs, but if not...that was business. Travis Thomas worked with Jordan’s father and knew the day to day operation of the company and his goal was for the employees to keep their jobs and keep the factory as it is. On a trip to sell the factory they had a plane crash and became stranded on an island where they had to depend on each other to live. Can these two people with opposite goals work together to survive and work together both on the island and for the factory or will the island destroy their dreams? Are they rescued, will she sell, will he be able to talk her out of the sale or will a miracle happen and there’s a happy ending?

Jordan Harris inherited her family's cheese company but must sell it to settle the debts her father owed and to protect the jobs of the company's employees. Travis Thomas has worked for the company since high school and wants to protect the company also. He isn't aware of the financial problems the company is experiencing. They're in Getaway Bay, Hawaii to discuss the sale with potential buyers, but their light plane goes down in a storm and they are stranded on a small unoccupied island. Can they come to terms with the future of the company?

This is a sweet, clean novel. A quick read. Not sure I really liked either main character but I could understand their situations. Another case of "just talk to each other". Both Jordan and Travis were intelligent and caring people who took care of each other under trying circumstance. I would read more books by this author

Stranded with The Boss

This was a great book to read and enjoy. The fact that Jordon had a job to do but was very reluctant to do it as it would have ended her father's legacy. He had started a cheese company and grew it into a large corporation but when he passed and left it to his daughter she found that he had left a great deal of dept. Her manager at the farm was doing a great job but was afraid she would sell and then everyone in the village would be out of work and he wanted to prevent that. They ended up wrecked on one end of the island of Getaway Bay for a few days before rescue and then when they were rescued he was hospitalized with appendicitis . This was a Free read and enjoyable. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Unique Romance in Hawaii

I really enjoyed this book. Jordyn travels to Hawaii to meet with buyers for her Cheese making farm that's losing money after her Dad's death. Travis is the manager of the farm and Jordan's been off site for years. Jordan and Travis end up in a plane crash just off a deserted island and romance ensues. I was impressed by how much action this book had. This was a real page turner. The only issue I had was that they didn't seem concerned enough about the pilot. I recommend this series for romance readers that like unique plots and twist.

Cheesy Love

Not a bad story but not memorable for me.

Her father has basically run their cheese business into the ground. Jordan has taken out loans just to pay their employees. She is now in Getaway Bay to sell the company.

Travis has worked for the Harris' cheese factory for almost 20 years. He's flown to Getaway Bay to try and talk Jordan Harris from selling out.

When their plane crashes they turn to each other and something brews between them. Will they be rescued from the crash and can the company be saved?

Travis and Jordan both believe they are doing the right thing. But they are on completely opposite sides of the fence. When they crash and wind up on an island Travis starts to see Jordan in a different light. As they spend more time together Travis begins to see why Jordan is so determined. But the lies almost cost Travis his life. It is a wonderful story and shows how lying to someone can really backfire.

This story was okay but I had a hard time feeling their attraction. They said the words in their heads but there didn't seem to be any feelings attached. Also the kissing was very lame. I couldn't feel those either.

Okay

I don't know if it's just because I had such a connection to a previously read book, or if I just am not in the mood for a novel such as this one- but I did not feel the pull to this novel that I normally do when I am reading a new novel. I will definitely have to try again later.

I enjoyed the story. The appendix thing was a bit unbelievable just because I know how fast that can burst and possible death. Two three days doesn't seem plausible. It was also a little fast for the forgiving part. Other than that, it wasn't bad a fast, fun, sexy man story.

Fun read

I liked the fact that Jordan wasn’t just a helpless woman. She fought for what she had to do. Travis’s sickness lasted a little too long, but that aside, I enjoyed this book.

A fun sweet read

I enjoyed this sweet contemporary romance. Travis and Jordan are two people who definitely needed to work on their communication skills. Misunderstandings and hostility at times were able to be worked out and love developed. An enjoyable sweet romance.

Travel to Hawaii. Meet your boss who is there to sell the company you work for. Fly to another island - only you don't make it because of bad weather. Hide rescue 'stuff' and spend a couple of days on a deserted island with your boss. All while hoping your appendix doesn't burst.

Resolved Too Quickly

Three and a half stars. The book was okay. I wouldn’t read it again, but I did finish it. Things resolved too quickly to be credible. Characters were slightly flat.

Jordan was looking to sell her company. Not that she wanted to. Travis was going to do whatever possible to stop her. Being stranded after a plane crash wasn't what with had in mind.

Storyline Excellent, BUT Boring

Lack of drama and emotions. Even in fiction this is hard to believe that Jordan accepted his lies and betrayal so calmly along with his schemes. There were so many mistakes it drew your attention away from the story.
