WOMEN HAVEN'T BEEN HIRED TO WORK IN MY BAR FOR A REASON: they’re too tempting and too distracting—too much of a liability—even if they are good for business…

That’s why I shocked myself by hiring Avery Cole. She’s young, carefree, and happy—a beautiful distraction. When she’s around, the devastation of my past gets buried under layers of lust and desire… hints of a life I once lived but have completely given up on.

I’ve already had my love and now that’s gone; there’s no need to try again. Even if love is staring me right in the face with a pair of deep brown eyes and no expectations.

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT SHAW O'SULLIVAN?
He’s rude, abrasive, sexy—and my boss. He’s also broken in ways I would never have seen if I hadn’t been looking.

Which means he should be off limits; my heart and body cannot handle his baggage. I’m on a quest to find myself, and Shaw O’Sullivan will only get in my way and drag me down.

Where I’m light, he's dark. We don't mix and neither of us are looking for love, so what happens when it finds us anyway?

It is only my personal opinion that heroine is a second best.

I have read other books with dead ex hero/heroine actually loved and not questioned “so what if they didn’t die”. I accepted the fact that they in fact did die, the MCs did in fact have a second chance at love and moved along with the story.

Here the point was blatantly obvious that if the hero’s dead spouse was still alive he’ll be happily living with her.

He wanted a baby with her. Loved a baby they conceived together that was never meant to be with everything in him but loved his wife more. His words not mine. He loved her so much that when heroine had a high risk pregnancy, she had to hear the words that he already had his shot at the HEA kind of love. So it’s unfair he should have it with h, may be he’s cheating, on both his ex and fate, and h should find her HEA with someone else.

This level of insecure shit stunt he pulled after all the ILUs and on the last chapter before epilogue. I’m sorry, there’s not enough kool-aid in Australia to make me believe he chose heroine because of his heart. Some other body parts, yes, not the heart.

That's not my usual "go-to-book", with a hero who is 15 years older than the heroine and therefore, it is not surprising for me that I didn't like them as a couple.

The book is not bad; I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, either.

The hero is 38 years old and he is a widow, who has been mourning for his dead wife for the past 5 years. She was the love of his life and after her death, he built walls around him and he never dated again. He had a f*ck buddy whom he sometimes hooked up with. Clearly, he just survived but he never enjoyed life again.

The heroine is 23 years old. Her boyfriend who she was living with hit her in a fight they had and the morning after that beating, she left him and moved to another city where she met the hero.

The romance between Avery and Shaw is a slow-burn one because Shaw refuses to love again and pushes Avery for a while.

My problems with the book are as follows:

1. It's 360 pages and it drags. I got bored from all the filling stuff in it. It would have been a more decent read with 100 pages less.

2. I didn't get the chemistry or attraction between the MCs. I didn't feel it.

The hero seems to suffer immensely from the loss of his life. The way he pushes everyone, including the heroine shows how reluctant he is to love again. Even when they started a relationship, he had to go to his therapist to survive his feeling of guilt of moving on.

I respect his pain, but this much of pain and this much of refusal to love again made the romance in this book with our heroine a forced one. That's why, I had a hard time enjoying / believing in their relationship. She was very understanding and mature, not a person of her age, obviously. She was an old soul. She was the one he needed and I believe he loved her in the end but obviously, she was his second best.

3. I never understood why the heroine didn't tell her parents why she broke up with her boyfriend. He was their friends' son and they loved him so they wanted to bring them together. At Thanksgiving, she bought a bus ticket home and she was going to visit her parents but when her mum said she also invited her (ex)boyfriend, she said, she couldn't make the arrangements to go and visit them. She let them serve the b*stard who beat her!!!!! WTF? Why wouldn't you say it? Why wouldn't you let the piece of sh*t get the treatment he deserves?

Only at Christmas, she goes to visit her parents and she explains it then. They are of course very upset about it.

4.

“What am I doing?” I ask—Sarah, God...the Universe. “It’s like I’m an imposter, living someone else’s life...or maybe I’m cheating and stealing someone else’s forever. I’ve already had my love and that’s gone...Liz is gone.”

***

“She was easy to love...I chased her for a few weeks and then she was putty in my hands. You...” I begin, hoping these words come out the way I mean them and that Avery can see my heart...and that it now beats for her. “You weren’t easy to love...you were hard...I fought it. But there’s something about things we fight so hard against...and for...they’re worthwhile. They mean more...because we worked for them.”

I brush back Avery’s hair—the platinum fading into a lovely lavender. “You’re worth it, Avery. You’re worth every therapy session and every battle I’ve fought inside myself. You make me believe in love and that somehow, someway, I might be one of the lucky mother fuckers who gets to experience a once in a lifetime kind of love twice in my life.”

Come Again is the story of Shaw and Avery’s journey to HEA. The book opens with Avery leaving an abusive relationship, and relocating in NOLO where she meets Shaw, a grumpy widowed bar owner. I don’t want to give major spoilers, but do know this can be a tricky trope… Much of the first ½ is laying the foundation for the couple. There’s the typical closed off H to friends to more. The last ½ is where the heavy lifting takes place, and the journey felt so authentic that it really resonated with me.

“Humans have an unlimited capacity to love. It’s inevitable that we’ll compare the next person who comes along to the one we lost, but remember we’re all different. And this new person needs to be the perfect person for this season of your life.”

I don’t have experience personally with losing a spouse, but my friend has, and even though she is happily remarried now… It was an emotionally bumpy ride. I know there were times that she freaked out, lashed out, ran, and had mixed feelings during major life events. (like feeling guilty when she became pregnant) I don’t feel like she loves her husband any less because a part of her still loves her lost love.

“You weren’t easy to love... you were hard... I fought it. But there’s something about things we fight so hard against... and for... they’re worthwhile. They mean more. . .because we worked for them.”

I could understand Shaw’s fear, and felt his struggle. He started as an ass, but put in the work, and I thought the process was thoroughly developed. Avery was young, but didn’t take his crap early on, and was a perfect mix of being supportive but refusing to be a consolation prize. So why four stars?? I felt like the story was a little too drawn out with too much filler. A chunk of page time is filled with her BFF and setting up future books. I have no plan to read them, so I found it boring, and I felt like we needed an epilogue.

“You’re worth it, Avery. You’re worth every therapy session and every battle I’ve fought inside myself. You make me believe in love and that somehow, someway, I might be one of the lucky mother fuckers who gets to experience a once in a lifetime kind of love twice in my life.”

Bottom Line- The H struggles to move forward, but I never felt like the h was second-best, but that’s subjective, so if a “replacement wife” scenario isn’t your thing… you might skip. It’s not very romantic, but does feel realistic. Your enjoyment will probably depend on a few things. Your tolerance for a second-best scenario and slow-burn romance. Your patience with filler, and if you believe in their Hea. It’s free to try with KU. *Safety- H has a “bed buddy” prior to meeting the h. He uses it to push her away initially, but is never "with" the OW after meeting. She’s on-page for two quick scenes. **Dead wife-RIP for 5 yrs. He struggles to move on, but doesn’t compare/throw in h’s face. He acknowledges that he loves the h while working through things, so it isn’t a denial thing… more healing.

I loved this story and I loved the characters! Avery was treated like crap for way too long by her ex, but the minute he laid a hand on her, she got the fuck out of Dodge and moved on. Then she looked back on her lost time with that loser ex, and decided she would never let that happen to her again. And she never did. I adored everything about Avery, she was sweet and spunky (in the very best way). Surly Shaw was kind of a dick through a lot of the story, but you all know me and my sick passion for asshole heroes, of course I loved him completely! He was still so in love with his dead wife, he was just existing in life, even 5 years later. Shaw put Avery through the paces when she first started working for him. He was truly awful to her, but Avery didn't take his shit either. I was so proud of her. As the story unfolds, we get to see what a truly good person Shaw really is at heart. The angst of Avery's love for a man who cannot move past his love for his dead soulmate, felt very realistic in this story. I loved how Avery wasn't willing to be second best though, and if she had to she would have walked away, rather than stay with someone who would never love her back the way she deserved. It was all so good! This story was an absolutely perfect way for me to pass my afternoon!

Sigh..I wanna live in New Orleans and be best buddies with Avery and Shaw. This story gave me all the feels. The following things always makes for a good story imo:

1. Age Gap. Shaw O’Sullivan. Tattooed. Hot. Damaged. Older. Second chance at love. very protective.

2. Younger woman. Damaged. Slowly begins to realize what’s within her. Made of tough stuff. Second chance at love.

3. Great food descriptions that give amazing visuals.

4. Angst. Always angst.

5. Pure unbridled lust and love. The End. <3

3.5 Stars . SPOILERS AHEAD BE WARNED!!!!!!

OK, so for those of you who hate the dead wife trope, this may not be for you. I say this because for me, THAT was my main issue and that’s why I only gave it 3.5 Stars for the most part.

OK, so first I really loved BOTH characters and with that being said I couldn't take listening to the inner and outer talk about his dead wife, UGHHHHH, it was annoying and continued until the very end:(

I felt the H had 5 f'in years to move on and he hadn't so of course in comes the h and yep she has to deal with emotional outbursts DUE to dead ex, I know I sound cold BUT really dude, there were a couple of moments he not only PISSED me right off but then the h was a complete DOORMAT. PS I don't mind a dead ex if done right and YES, it can be done and has been done by other authors, just this dead ex thing, ehhhhhh, just wasn't played out well for me. I thought the h was second best and yet I also thought he truly loved her too. BUT until the end he still thought of and talked about dead ex and honestly the author made it feel to me the reader that his dead ex was "it" for him and so I couldn't helop but feel that the h was second best too. Ughhh, just not executed to my liking for a dead ex trope if that makes sense!

This could have been a really great story, the writing was very good, it was the execution of the storyline. I need a bit more "angst" or just a little more something to bring it to the next level, at times, I felt "bored". The little angst that happened was played out great but then got squashed immediately which is fine BUT then there wasn't any other "real" "moments" that could have elevated the storyline for me personally.

Will I read more by this author, YES! Like I said written well but the execution was not to my liking.

Loved loved loved this book so much.I think I've lived in another world till few months ago because I love when I find new authors and their work sticks to my heart
It's a beautiful story set in New Orleans and it really makes me want to move in the states because the visuals that we get from the author in the books is so real that you feel in the front line next to them at the coffee shop or restaurant or bar or even on the streets.
The name of the book comes from a cocktail drink that is served at the bar where the characters met and work and I want to try one.
Avery is a pink hair young and very strong woman that leaves her long time boyfriend when he is very aggressive and tries to make a new life in another town where everything is new for her~new home to look for,new job,new friends, new plans for the future.I love her because she stands up for what she wants and doesn't quite when an obstacole intervene in her path for starting an new life.
Shaw is a bearded and tatted broken man in more ways that you could think about. He lost his first love and is trying to overcome depression and anxiety burring himself into work in owning a bar and helping the homeless that are looking for a night to spend in a worm place.
I love that we have both points of view,it helps so much to understand what happens with the characters and why they take certain decisions, the chemistry between them is amazing and the dialog is so well done that I laugh out loud so many times but also felt sad at moments when we discovered their past.
I fell for both through their pain and angst and lust and a second chance at love even if both want to protect their hearth, love comes when less expected and this book made it so clear and so beautiful written that it surely is in my top 5 of the year now.

Come Again? Yes please. I’d come again and again and again for Shaw O’Sullivan.

He’s a broody, surly asshole according to Avery Cole, the new girl in town, who ran from a not so desirable situation looking for a fresh start. But, that doesn’t stop her from pretty much forcing her way into his life.

My heart broke for Shaw, I cried actual tears. Okay, maybe not cried but my eyes definitely watered a good bit. The poor baby, he’s broken just barely scraping by in this world. So when the feisty, younger woman comes barging into his bar demanding a job to say he’s shocked is an understatement. But she won’t last. He’ll run her off in no time.

The slow burning love ignited my soul. Set it ablaze. I wanted to take the 45 minute drive downtown to find Come Again and hold him. Lol

I can’t tell y’all how much I really, really loved this story. The writing, phenomenal. The characters, dynamic.

Bravo Jiff & Jenny!

First of i want to thank author Jiffy Kate for the ARC, i very much appreciate it. Now I will tell you that Jiffy Kate is anew (to me) author, therefore I have not read any of her books previously. All i can say is that NOW she is part of my favorite author's group! In love with her writing style, characters and story line! Besides the fact that the cover model is gorgeous, the blurb is what caught my interest!

Avery got the short end of the stick, but when fight or flight became the only option...she chooses flight! New anything can be scary, intimidating and fearful, but Avery is a strong woman, very strong. Boy, did she get the short end of the stick! When Avery meets SHAW O'SULLIVAN she wishes she didn't. He not only was broody but a arrogant sexist asshole!

"He was an asshole, Grade--A, prime choice, top-of--the--line, asshole deluxe." -Avery

Shaw O'Sullivan has to be the sexiest man alive! Who wouldn't want a tall, handsome, tattooed with beard man? Especially if that man also happens to own a motorcycle and own a bar?! He is fighting with his own dark daemon that has lasted for five years.

Without giving away too much, the beginning of this story will have your heart breaking, luckily Shaw will come to the rescue (the helper, the saver). Watch these two characters battle themselves along with each other. Great suspense, so much passion and the family love, is insane! You will meet CeCe who is #bestfriendgoals times ten! I am looking forward to more from Jiffy Kate, and will be reading everything else she has. This was that fantastic! HIGHLY Recommended, make sure to get your pre-order in when it's available!

Can I give 10 stars?

This author duo never disappoints, but they have outdone themselves with this book!

Shaw O'Sullivan and his broody, cranky ways will worm himself into your heart and you will love him despite himself!

Avery - running from a mess of a relationship, she leaves Houston and, rather than returning to her family in Okalahoma, finds herself in NOLA determined to start over and make it on her own. She winds up in Shaw's bar, Come Again, seeking employment. Only to be told he doesn't hire women. Well - until he does!

Shaw - as the story goes on we learn his heartbreaking story of loss and why his walls are up so high he thought no woman could ever tear them down. See a theme here? Shaw doesn't want to let the women in. Not into his bar and definitely not into his heart. Then there's that pesky little 15 year age difference.

But Avery isn't good at taking no for an answer. Watch her worm her way into the bar and see if she can do the same with Shaw's heart.

As always, the descriptions of NOLA will make you feel as if you are there. You will see sights. You will taste the food. You will smell the coffee in the coffee shop. JK's books always transport you and make you feel a part of the story.

The supporting characters in this book are fabulous and I love the crossover "visits" from characters of their other books.

And - ummmmm - can we just say ............. THAT FREAKING COVER??? Holy hotness! Well done girlies!

Tantalizing. Mysterious.

I was intrigued from the very first page. Jiffy Kate know how to write and create books where you live in the books. You experience New Orleans as you are reading. The French Quarter is on my travel bucket list because of JK books. In this book you meet Avery and Shaw. Avery has a life altering experience that shocks you. She then begins her journey to healing. Along that journey she meets the mysterious Shaw O’Sullivan. Shaw is bearded. Tattooed. Sexy. He is broken. What a journey Shaw and Avery go on. Such a fantastic book!! I also love the characters from previous books. You will want to move to New Orleans.

This is a very emotionally draining book. A lot went on in this novel. I don’t have much to say without giving away spoilers other than I enjoyed this book immensely. It will rip your heart out. Some things that happened were sad and painful. Both main characters went through some heart-wrenching times. I read this practically in one sitting because I had to know how everything eventually turned out. And, I always love a book that takes place in New Orleans. A very romantic setting...

Amazon - HNRY (in parts)

I liked the first 25%, but then it lost me. The hero was the problem. Too much pining over his dead wife. I felt bad for the heroine. I wanted her to be with a man that LOVED HER and ONLY HER.
When the heroine dealt with her high risk pregnancy and the hero mentioned that dead wife, I was DONE!! (HNRY) The heroine deserved more. She deserved better.

The hero was the worst kind of hero. He acted all protective when really he was just a pining a**hole. He was pining until the very end (98%) over that DEAD WIFE!! She died 5 years ago. If you are not over your dead wife, then don't string along another woman.

Good luck. This is my opinion.

Come Again by @Jiffy Kate
#Review #OneClickNow #Recommendation

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

‘I want him to want me enough to give me everything. Every broken picece.’

Come Again is actually my first foray into the sharp-witted, clever and supremely romantic world of Jiffy Kate. And what an illuminating and fantastic introduction to their work.

Come Again is a truly remarkable, incredibly well written book. Seamless, clever, and addictive, beautiful and alluring, it tells a tale of survival, strength, closure, redemption and of course the staggering and unbreakable bond of love. As it progresses, Come Again takes us on the same self-discovery journey as our main protagonists, it opens up questions, makes us think and feel. Is it possible for you to have two all-time loves in your life? And if so, how do you navigate through the guilt, confusion and mixed emotions.

Jiffy Kate, together are a powerhouse team. It was impossible to distinguish who had written what part or which character, as each part fit together effortlessly to create this devastatingly wonderful whole. The entirety of the story is spell-binding, emotional, funny and completely wonderful. It is very much driven by emotion, with some sterling little twists and turns to keep the story flowing through heartache, angst and some supremely scintillating sex scenes. Add in some vivid and immersive descriptions of New Orleans, a plot with substance and style and some fantastic multifaceted characters then you have a definite ‘must-read’ winner.

Our heroine Avery is an absolute delight. She is the epitome of courage. She is independent and strong but is still able to retain a certain sweetness and naivety to her personality. Everything is new and exciting to her and as such, we as the reader get to experience New Orleans and falling in love through her unique perspective. But she is fierce. Make no mistake in thinking she is a wilting wallflower, Jiffy Kate has produced one helluva strong heroine in Avery. Both in spirit and mind, she recognises her own worth, with or without a man in her life.

But if you’re going to choose a man to fall in love with, an older, tattooed, bearded, bar- owning, motorcycle-riding god, with an a**hole exterior and a heart of gold, is a pretty good match. There is something so delicious and provocative about a gruff, stubborn hero and a perky and positive heroine. It’s that slow descent into unexpected love. Watching as she is able to scale his walls and remove his battle-worn armour.

As separate entities, Avery and Shaw are magnificent but each and every time they tangle on the page together, the sexual tension is insurmountable and the intense connection they share is palpable. They hurt, they laugh, they suffer, they overcome and it’s just such a beautiful story of love and hope.

‘I might talk big and act like a d**k, but deep down I’m not made for that kind of pain. I never wanted to hurt her. Just the opposite. I wanted to turn her away, make her run from me, because I have nothing for her. Everything left inside of me is broken, damaged, nothing someone as bright and alive as Avery deserves.’

Apparently I had already read this before, I even found highlights in the Kindle Unlimited book I downloaded. How is it possible I remembered NOTHING? I have problems.

Anyway, this was a Debbie Downer. The H, Shaw, was seriously hung up on his dead wife. For too long into the book, he was still mourning and taking out his unhappiness and guilt on the h, Avery. It's odd because I don't exactly feel she was second best, but in a way, she was a consolation prize. Wasn't she? I know it's subjective...but he did call his wife his soulmate.

Shaw: I...I loved her...love her. We were together more than fifteen years, married ten. She was my soulmate. When she died, a part of me died with her. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, let alone move through this world without her.”

Shaw talking to Avery: “You’re in my thoughts, my dreams...I can’t get you out of my head. And to be near you all the time and not be able to touch you like I want, like I need...it kills me.”

Avery: Lizzie was his wife. He loved her more than anything in this world. And she died...taking parts of him with her. Where does that leave me? I want everything—

Avery: ...one thing I don’t want is to be a consolation prize. Is that essentially what he’s offering? Since he lost the love of his life...he’ll what? Settle for me? No, I don’t want that. As much as I want Shaw, I don’t want to live my life playing second best to the ghost of someone I’ll never live up to, always wondering when the other shoe...or towel, in this case, will drop...I can’t live my life being someone’s second choice...second best.”

Shaw: “You’ll never be a consolation prize. It’s not a competition. I had Liz for fifteen years. I’ve mourned her for five. I’ll love her forever. But I’m in love with you.”

I understand he got a second chance at love with the heroine. He was obsessed with her; that's something. But it wasn't quite enough for me. I guess I just wanted him to feel more for her, more than anything he had ever felt. Even if she was better in some way(s) than the wife. I'm greedy and selfish like that when it comes to my fictional characters. I think the biggest bummer for me was his constant grieving, crying out his wife's name at times. It was a bit much. I'm glad Avery wasn't willing to settle for less and he managed to convince her she wasn't. Good for her, good for them, I did believe in their HEA. But it still felt like a downer.

This duo and their words will stay with you forever. Jiff Kate has a way of writing that not only do you picture everything so vividly, you are there with the characters. You're sitting at the bar, sitting at a little table in a coffee shop or you are walking down the street with them.

First, can we just bask in the glory that is this cover? I am pretty sure that Jiffy Kate broke the internet the day that this cover revealed itself to the world!

This book takes place in New Orleans and the colorful writing takes you to the French Quarter. We get the story of Avery Cole and SHAW O'SULLIVAN! (Swoon!!) From the first page of this book you know that you are going to be sucked in and there will be no chance of putting it down until the end.

Avery, an Oklahoma native, moves to NOLA and manages to make new friends, land a job, find a place to live, and find herself again. Those pieces that she lost years ago, she not only gets them back but she becomes stronger in return.

Shaw, who currently owns a bar and gives Avery her first job in the city, is completely moody and arrogant. But Shaw is also bearded, tattooed and down right sexy. His character traits will surprise you and you will find that at first you love to hate him, then you fall in love with him.

I can't express into words how amazing the dialogue is and the characters are so relatable that you will swear that you have known them at a time in your life. Jiffy Kate know how to express all the feels, all the words and paint the most beautiful picture that is their books.

You want to read this story, you want to devour all there is to devour. You will feel the feels, you will hate. You will cry. You will laugh. You will love. Love so hard that after you are finished reading, the book hangover will consume you in the best way possible.

I don't want to spoil anything about this book. You can read the blurb, read reviews, or just go in blind and consume the many colors and beautifully written words of Jiffy Kate. You won't regret it!

Will I read more by this author, YES! Like I said written well but the execution was not to my liking.

It’s really not fair to limit me to five stars. It’s also not fair to expect me to somewhat put together a review that would do such a beautifully told story and sort of justice. But I will try.
There is nothing....NOTHING...that I would change about this book. There was no part of the story that made me think huh, why that there? There was no single word or sentence or paragraph that I didn’t feel in my soul. It’s a perfectly pieced together story of two lost souls finding themselves and finding each other.
From the stat of the book you are slammed with emotions that pull you in and you won’t want to do anything but read this book. It’s an emotionally charged feelings packed book from the very beginning to the very end. The characters were developed with so much depth they will live in your fictional heart forever as two of your best friends. As always with a JK book you will even fall in love with side characters as well. You will be living and breathing all the New Orleans things because of how incredibly talented these writers are....you seriously feel like you are there experiencing everything first hand for yourself. It’s the most amazing experience an author can bring you as a reader and these ladies deliver. Just like after I finished the first book, Blue Bayou, I’m desperate to go to New Orleans.
This story is one for all readers....all the feels, beautifully broken characters, and a hard fought HEA that will bring tears to your eyes even after you have finished reading it. I can’t wait for the world to be able to read and love this story as much as I do.

This is such a gorgeous story! When Shaw first stepped onto the page back in the Blue Bayou, I was hooked, even though he was on there for like five mins. So when I got the chance to read an entire book about him, I was thrilled. And this book is everything I hoped for. Shaw is at a point in life where he feels like he’s done. He’s loved and lost, and he doesn’t see the point of trying again. Yet he is such a good guy, with so much to offer! When Avery enters the picture, she’s dealing with emotional scars of her own, but her spirit is so amazing to see. Every time she feels intimidated, I love how she builds up her courage and fights back... The way she gets her jobs, and places to stay, the way she makes friends, and even the way she changes her hair colour! And the chemistry between these two is so palpable. But there are layers to this story, and the supporting characters are just as important. One of the most significant chapters for me was the one with the grief support group. Like all their other books, Jiffykate write with a warmth and feeling that pulls you right into the story. The way they bring New Orleans to life really makes me want to visit, because it’s like these characters are so real, I already know people there! Oh, and it was so good to see everyone from the Crescent Moon, Blue Bayou, and the Finding Focus crew again. Now I’m really looking forward to learning more about Cece and Shep.

Y'all....get ready for Shaw O'Sullivan, he is such a Knight in Shining Armor!!!! He may have a few pings in this armor, he may be hurt from his past and he may carry a huge chip on his shoulder. But man after Avery helped smooth them out, he definitely was perfect!!! Gahhh I fell hard for these two!!!

Avery left Oklahoma to come to New Orleans, well actually she ran away from an awful situation in OK. She prays that baggage doesn't come and find her.

She ends up finding a job at a bar. This is where she meets Shaw O'Sullivan. The bar owner. He has such a huge chip on his shoulder, but again, she definitely works at getting those chips and pings smoothed out of his armor!!! lol Shaw can tell something is going on with Avery, but his burly self doesn't want to get involved. But Shaw really does have a heart and although he tries hard to hide it, sometimes he can not resist and helps them out.

Gahhh, these types of books are some of my favs to read. Cuz I love those grumpy alpha males and the ladies that love them and turn them into putty even though they fight them tooth and nail..lol

I gave Come Again 5 swoony Stars!!! Make sure you pick up on release day and find out how Avery gets those pings worked out and also find out if her baggage comes to find her and see if her Knight comes to take her off into the sunset!!! : )

Thanks for another wonderful read Jiffy Kate and love love this book cover!!! xoxo

so close to the other read i have read by Jiffy Kate "Watch and See". you go from never had read anything from Jiffy Kate to reading 2 books in a close amount of time. i think this is 2 ladies writing at the same time, right??! any who ... great writing style. this does has so much in there ... 2 characters ...such backstories ... Avery Cole has come from an abusive relationship, that she is embarrassed to tell her parents about. I would guess that is normal, right? never know anyone who has grown though that situation, i can imagine it is so rough ... hard to move forward from. The minute in this book he (Shaw O’Sullivan) entered the picture, I thought stop the presses, he is the one, Shaw is bearded. Tattooed. Sexy as h. e. double hockey sticks. (for you folks who already cuss like sailors u might not recognize that spelling that's HELL spelled out). He is broken. He will grab your heart and make u feel such heartbreaking feelings ...oh my goodness ... we love characters like him don't we??! This is where i really had to debate whether "Watch and See" would stay top read for them or not??!! nobody will ever win over Mr. Chan ...just saying ...but let's out Shaw O'Sullivan verses Luke (drawing a blank on his last name?) let's allow them to fight it out? the both are so broken, for such different reason. Great reads ... & this one is set in New Orleans ... i mean come on ... have u visited there? I loved recalling each spot when Avery did visit. Be there ...done that several times ...it is a must see travel location. great read. loved it! ( ;

I’m going to start at the beginning, this cover! OMG, after I got through drooling over it, I immersed myself in the NOLA world of Jiffy Kate. Brought to life through multihued descriptions, it is a place that one dreams of being. After experiencing it in Blue Bayou, I was anxious to return.

Shaw O’Sullivan, physical is everything a woman could want. It’s just that life had crushed him. He had slowly worked his way to what he thought was a good place until Avery walked into his life and upset that apple cart!

Avery Cole was determined to live her life on her terms. Moving forward from a bad relationship, she found herself in NOLA. Meeting Shaw only caused her to be even more determined to succeed.

These two! Talk about rock meets a hard place. Both stubborn as all get out, the more they butt heads, the more the attraction between the two of them explodes. But both of them also have giving hearts and when they come together to help others, you’ll dissolve with the feels.

From the start of this story, I was hooked. Reading Shaw and Avery’s story with all of its ups, downs, twist and turns is a page turner that engages the mind and fills your heart.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a great story with wonderful characters and brilliant writing. 5 Stars #2OCCMS

I love the stories that Jiffy Kate come up with. They have away of sucking you in. You become part of the story. While reading this book it made me feel like I was right there in New Orleans again. They are truly artists with their words.

Come Again takes us back to the French Quarter with a lot of familiar characters and a few new ones too.  Avery Cole is one of the new ones. Little did she know, running from her past would lead her right to her future. I really liked Avery. Not a weak woman at all. She is fighter even if she lost her away a little while. Like most of us women wake up one day and think "How hell did I get here?" But Avery had a plan to change her life but what she did't plan on was Shaw O’Sullivan.

Shaw has some demons of his own that he is dealing with but when Avery walks into the bar...... All of his demons seem to fade away. She is like his own personal sunshine. The changes she makes in him seem to happen almost over night. He is falling hard and is unsure about tell her the truth.

Truth be told this book was like riding a giant roller coaster. You go way up and then go way down but in the end you enjoyed the ride.

I’ve been a fan of Jiffy Kate’s books for awhile. Their books easily transport the reader to the city the story takes place and it’s no different with “Come Again.”

Leaving a bad relationship and starting over in an unfamiliar city, Avery navigates the changes in her life and finds herself as the first woman to work in Shaw O’Sullivan’s bar. While Shaw does all he can to not think about Avery, she does the same...at first. Their relationship has plenty of hiccups, roadblocks, and misunderstandings. Read to see how they’re able to overcome what might seem impossible. As you’re reading it’s easy to picture the French Quarter, the Garden District and everything in between. A few characters from “Blue Bayou” and “Finding Focus” make appearances as well and fit right into the story.

Like their other books, this one leaves you wanting more!

Liked it, didn't love it

Angsty read. I liked that the characters acted their age and had mature conversations with each other rather than creating typical drama. There was OW drama but very minimal, casual on and off hookup that hero only used to act like they were hooking up to repel the heroine from thinking he was available, but the heroine dealt with it like a champ. I can see why some readers struggle with the whole "heroine is second-best compared to hero's first wife" but the way I see it, it's like how your first love will always have a special place in your heart even when it's over. Hero struggled a lot with guilt of moving on and having a second chance at love. I liked the progression between h&H. Just didn't feel as connected to the characters as I would have liked.

As usual, Jiffy Kate leaves me with a book hangover. There was much anticipation for Come Again, on my part, since finishing Blue Bayou and it was definitely worth the wait. Shaw and Avery’s story is one of sadness, heartbreak and ultimately sweet, sweet love. Mix that in with some smoking hot sex and this book is worth every star!
