I found this story to be very creative. I liked how fairy tale characters come together to find who took the porridge. It had that "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" feel to it because of the porridge and Baby Bear are featured in the story. Porridge has become a symbol for the classic fairy tale because back then porridge was popular to eat for breakfast.

This is a cute story of a little bear who believes a porridge monster has stolen his porridge. He runs all over town, meeting up with other well-known folk literature characters to help him find the porridge monster. In the end, it turns out that Goldilocks had borrowed his porridge pot to throw a welcome home party for the Three Bears.

I though this was a clever book tying together several fairy tale characters. It would be a great mentor text for teaching writing. You could have your students add characters to the plot.

Ever wonder if Goldilocks was the only character to eat Little Bear's porridge? Wonder no more! In Who's Been Eating My Porridge? Little Bear sets off with Little Billy Goat Gruff and many other favorite characters to find the Porridge Monster. The creative use of traditional tales into one setting will encourage young readers to continue reading. The illustrations are realistic and use soft colors that are appealing to young readers. The story keeps the reader engaged until the surprise ending reveals a favorite storybook character. This tale would be a great addition in teaching dialogue and answering the question, “What do you think happens next?”

Little Bear wakes up hungry for porridge, but his porridge pot is missing. He with Little Billy Goat and some of his other friends go searching for the Porridge Monster who must have taken it.

I love the invitations on the end pages along with the details in all the illustrations!
