This trilogy contains the books: Dungeon Player, Dungeon Crisis, and Dungeon Guild
Join Devin and Krista as they embark on a journey to explore the newest Full-Immersive Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, Glendaria Awakens! Their experience soon turns grim as they are put in charge of running their own dungeon in the game.
Now they must figure out how to survive waves of players trying to steal their Dungeon Core, all the while dealing with psychotic Dungeon Guardians and powerful guilds. Using the creatures that Devin captures as a dungeon monster himself, Krista combines them into unique and powerful hybrids that help defend against the intruders.
Contains bonus content such as some of my notes and maps, as well as an additional story starring Devin and some of his friends that takes place after the events of the last book!
This series was a fun and exciting read, well paced, and with likable characters. I like that there are two protagonists, especially as one is a dungeon and the other a mob/player character. I also like the Divine Dungeon series, as there are ‘kind of’ two protagonists there too, but it’s not the same.
While the dungeon (Krista) is not OP, Devin’s character kind of gets to that point (though usually it is more of a situational OP and not really for all scenarios). Jonathan has a note in the book that if he writes more about these characters, he will address it. The fact that there are serious consequences if they ‘lose’ kind of made it important for Devin to be as capable as he is in this book.
I hope we do see more books set in this world; the little short story at the end of the book was fun!
Warning: some vulgarity and innuendo are scattered throughout the three books; not a lot, but it’s there and parents should be aware.
This is the first series of books from this author and it shows. I don't know what the original version was like but I enjoyed the concept behind two main characters trapped in the same game with different circumstances. As the story progresses so does the quality of writing.I would really love to see where this story goes. I'm also a big fan of OP characters but based a on the what I read there needs to be in order what they could possibly face in the future. If you haven't yet, pick up the Dungeon Eternium by this same author and you will not be disappointed in the least.
An Interesting Trilogy, Combining the Dungeon Core and LitRPG Genres Into a Single Series
I typically regard the Dungeon Core genre as a sub-genre of the LitRPG genre, but in this series I see the two together in such a manner as to consider the as two genres in a single series of books. Krista is the Dungeon Core half and Devin is the LitRPG Heroic Character half of this hybridized trilogy of novels.
This trilogy will likely appeal to fans of the Fantasy, LitRPG, Dungeon Core, and, possibly, the Military Fantasy genres.
This trilogy was enjoyable overall, but throughout the reading it was a sequence of highs and lows with the writing quality and pacing. I get the impression that Mr. Brooks writes books that he would enjoy reading, and these books simply weren't as suited to my tastes. I encourage anyone looking to possibly pick these books up to do so and find out for themselves what they have to offer.
My sons (age 10 & 14) really had fun with this book. It's a fun and short RPG/D&D story that for them who are just really getting into D&D gives them the stats and character development information that they are learning and excited about. There is some minor language (no f-bombs) but otherwise a clean read. The narrator does a good job and was fun to listen to.

It definitely was a different take on the whole stuck in a game aspect. I very much enjoyed all 3 books in here along with the little short story at the end. It’s a fun and interesting universe that has been created. I can’t wait to start the next one.
This book set is captivating and I love the progression and growth of the main characters. When they where faced with a loss they kept going and made it a win. Thanks bunches Jonathan
This one just really didn't do it for me, and it's not any one thing. I found the main characters underwhelming and the writing was competent but not inspired. Dungeon building books aren't my favourite, but I've seen it done if not better, then at least more interestingly. YMMV of course.
This is as good as it gets folks. Written by someone that had a true love for gaming. He gets it all right! The sheer joy of discovering new places and mobs. The mechanics of the games. Every aspect. Read this book!
Well written, interesting characters and some interesting plot twists mark this well crafted trilogy. An interesting take on an isekai/ sao type story.
When the trend is for every story (book, series, movie, t.v. show, etc.) to be "gritty" and "dark" (Archie? Seriously?) it is nice to have some light simple fun.
Great heros and villains. The short story at the end of the book was great. At times there are moments of, No, Don't do that. Apart from that, great story.
