J.J. Green is a British-Australian science fiction author with a lifelong love of distant landscapes, intriguing cultures and fascinating places. She was born within the sound of the bells of Mary-le-Bow church in Cheapside, London, making her a bona fide Cockney, and she lived in Australia, Laos and Taiwan before returning to the UK to settle down in Cambridge.

Green’s novels weave science-based speculation with richly personal stories. Her works explore themes of environmental degradation, political conflict, mythical resonance, human resilience, and the ethics of technology and expansion. Her characters—often strong women—navigate future worlds grounded in both scientific plausibility and mythic imagination.

J.J. Green’s The Scythian Crisis (Space Colony One Book 3) is a great addition to a series that is precisely the space colonization epic adventure promised by its publisher. It’s also wonderful (and deserving of its five stars) as a standalone. Earth may be lost and the very survival of the Nova Fortuna colony in peril thanks to alien invasion, but I would not count out Ethan, Cariad or the other colonists just yet. The final battle is approaching with humanity’s fate to be settled. It’s going to be a wild ride, but definitely worth the experience. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.

This final book of the series is another fine read and although it answers all the questions raised by the previous book and comes to a mostly satisfying conclusion it is clear that the author intends to continue this series with additional stories.

This book sees the colony prepare for a second attack by the unknown hostile aliens. They are quite worried and fear annihilation is almost certain as they expect the aliens to return with a far superior force.

Kes, Cariad's former companion prior to the departure of the Nova Fortuna from Earth and recently awakened takes on the task of trying to communicate with intelligent, but mysterious fila.

The book contains quite a few surprises and the defense of the colony in the final chapters is done quite well.

Oh and surprise! There's going to be more than 3 books to the seriess

The Nova Fortuna is down and Cariad fears for the lives of her techs, Cassie and Florian, and the babies that they were caring for.

The moral of the colonists falls, rises and falls again as they battle to survive against the odds.

The Guardians on the Mistral warn them that another attack by the mysterious ship is not only possible but likely. They calculate that the colonists have between three and six months to prepare for another attack.

Meanwhile there is the problem of the threads to consider. What was their motive for keeping Ethan and his two companions prisoner and then letting them go? Kes makes it his task to try to communicate with them and find out.

Can the colony survive after the devastating tsunami that washed away their crops and houses?

What comes next was, for me, enthralling and exciting. I couldn’t put it down.

ONE INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
Oh boy, talk about getting deep. In a whirlwind of emotions and events that seems to be riding on a category 4 hurricane winds. This is one wild rollercoaster ride with all the drama, intrigue, action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, smooth flowing, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning thrill that makes for one electrifying experience. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected surprises around every corner that hold your attention and frozen to your seat. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really makes the storyline pop. Tensions rise an the plot thickens as the story unfolds. Green did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Green, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

This is the third in a series depicting a last ditch effort to save humanity by colonizing a new planet. The first describes the arrival and landing; the second their many problems that must be overcome; and now, in this book, the introduction of sentient beings.
Having established their claim through blood and toil, they must now await the vagary of the universe. Ms. Green has again delivered a gripping tale; the tension and difficulties to be overcome are innovative and demanding; the characters likeable and capable; with a bit of romance added to show that humanity and human nature will go on. Recommended.

Humanity’s survival

These books are well written in the grammatical sense and are addictive, I just feel like I’ve seen parts of the plots in TV.
The mix of plots is enticing and the human feelings are well covered. In the survival of man kind 2000 well selected genes might well keep the human race viable, I’m not sure.
Either way I’m off to the next book so a solid 4 stars from me

JJ Green continues to make life hard for the colonists trying to survive and maybe thrive on Concordia.

The colonists are dealing with two groups of aliens while trying to rebuild after the attack in the previous book.

Relationships are developing and misunderstandings happen. I keep wanting to put Aubriot back into stasis - hopefully he will learn that he isn't more important than anyone else.

Kobo -252 pages

A stirring conclusion to this series - still reeling from the latest setback (alien attack from space) the colony on Concordia rallies behind Ethan to recover after the loss of the colony ship and the resulting tsunami that flattened the settlement. Happily the fila saved the embryos, so that Cariad's fears about loss of genetic variability are at least partially met.

The pace doesn't let up until the very end - and the good news is that a further aeries is in the works.
I cannot recommend these books enough!

Excellent series, great book.

Almost an anticlimax when I realised this was the end of this part of the series. I now need to know what happened next to the characters I liked. I hope I get the answers in part 2.

Edge of your seat...

The colonists and all they have been through. This 3rd book draws you deeper into their world...then has you on the edge of your seat. I'm fully enthralled by this series now, I want the rest of the story.

The Scythian Crisis

Lots of action and romances and sacrifice and hope. The aquatic creatures are not only helpful but as more is revealed the more hope.
