The last person Dr. Riley Rogers wants to meet is her absentee boss , Mr. Bachelor of the Year, Dean Matthias. If his notorious reputation is close to true his visit will only disrupt the peace she’s found caring for the people at the humanitarian clinic. With every word, Dean confirms that his head is as big as his billboard. It will take all the manners of her Midwest upbringing to play nice with the man who controls her contract. After losing nearly everything, to his backstabbing ex-fiancé, Dean needs the Worldwide Care Project to be a success so he can prove to the board at the Matthias Foundation he’s not the irresponsible mess the media portrays him. But from the moment the beautiful, headstrong Riley Rogers appears in his life, nothing goes as planned. When Dean’s presence, and the lure of his wealth, draws out a local terrorist group, Dean and Riley are forced to flee into the Filipino jungle. Sparks of attraction fly between them, but if they don’t learn to trust each other--and themselves--they’ll never survive long enough to know if it’s love.

This was such a fun, light suspense, romance! It sucked me right in and kept me right in the thick of things the whole way through. I love when that happens! The characters were great and I just loved this one. Yay!

Content: some mild violence, kissing

I personally enjoyed this book. I will say some of it did seem unrealistic, however, I enjoyed the entertainment, fast past, and excitement woven with in a great love story.

This is one of those books I like to call a great date night book. It has something for just about everyone. Action, romance, and a little comedy (although not much, just an episode where Dean takes some painkillers...you've seen someone on painkillers, I'll let your imagination paint the picture for you.)

This Destination Billionaire Romance did feel a little heavier than some of the other books in this series (the characters do not always intersect in this series, it is just a group of authors that release at least one book a month with the same theme: a romance involving a rich young man in an exotic locale). Our hero is shot early on in the story and has to try to escape through the jungles of the Philippines, in an attempt to escape terrorists who are after his family's money.

The romance begins in the classic guy meets girl, guy acts like a jerk, girl hates guy, but then along the way things change. Forced to rely on one another, they both come to see that there is more than meets the eye about the other, and sparks begin to fly (helped a little at times by the aforementioned painkillers).

This ebook will take you for a romantic adventure through the Philippines, one where you are not sure how Dean and Riley are going to make it out alive.

Hearts in Peril: Destination Billionaire Romance is by Kaylee Baldwin. These romances take place in a variety of places and are wonderful so far. They are short enough to read quickly and in one day with interruptions. You really don’t want to put them down.
Dean Matthias is the founder of the Worldwide Care Project. He spent several years convincing his Dad for the Matthias Foundation to fund this project. He wanted to send doctors to developing nations to provide care for those in need. The pilot program to provide medical care was in the Philippines. He was headed there now to check on the progress. He would have been there earlier; but he was in the middle of a court case with his ex-fiancé. She had used his restaurants to funnel drug money. Fortunately, he was able to prove he had nothing to do with it; but his reputation was in ruins. This trip to check on Dr. Riley Rogers came at a good time. In his haste, he took a local motorized tricycle instead of waiting on his car. On the way, they picked up Rodel, the driver’s father who was going to the clinic.
Upon his arrival at the clinic, he found that Dr. Rogers was female instead of the male he expected. However, he had heard enough about her on his way in that he knew the right doctor for the job had been picked. Of course, he only got part of the conversation because it was in Filipino. While he was talking to Riley, a man came in with a bullet in his leg. Danilo and his father had driven out to meet Mr. Matthias’s car and direct it to the village and they were ambushed by terrorists. Danilo said they had heard a wealthy American was here. Riley told Dean to leave immediately while she stayed. He knew it would be too hazardous for her to stay now. In the rush to get Dean away, Riley got caught up in the terrorists’ sights and she saw Dean was hit. They managed to get away to the tricycle which brought Dean to the village. Riley drove and headed into the jungle to get away. The terrorists followed them.
The action just gets more and more intense as they try to find their way to civilization without getting caught. Meanwhile, Dean’s arm wound still has the bullet in it and they have no first aid kit. Riley knew he needed medical attention as quickly as possible. But, where were they?

An intense run for their lives

I really like this authors clean writing style and find myself wishing she had so many more books published. This one was no exception. It is a story of righting wrongs, honesty, trust, second chances, and doing something in the world that makes a difference. I don't usually like books where the mcs come together under life threatening circumstances because of the natural bond formed between survivors. It's not always a bond that makes a great relationship after the danger has passed. But this one felt different. And I wanted at least a sequel to see Riley and Dean working side by side years later still in love, happy, and successful. All in all, a sweet love story in a harsh environment. I look forward to more from this author.

A humanitarian clinic romance with a hero who's all swagger on the outside and heart on the inside? Yes please. Dr. Riley holding her own against Dean's larger-than-life personality made for some really great tension. Quick read with just the right amount of spark.

The writing and storytelling were great. My only issue was the end sneaked up on me and wasn’t what I expected.

A few things I loved about writing this book:

1) Writing about a billionaire with a good heart who's made some not-great choices (because of that good heart.) Dean is the kind of billionaire I would want to meet!

2) Researching the Philippines. My husband lived there for a couple of years, and I was able to ask him a ton of questions, go through all of his old photos, and have him help me give the setting an authentic feel. Now I want to go for a visit! (Only maybe not to the same place I have Dean and Riley go to...)

3) Having Riley, my cautious doctor with a secret, go on an adventure that helps her remember that life is meant to be LIVED! Plus who wouldn't want to go on an adventure with the handsome bachelor of the year! (Well, Riley doesn't, but we'll forgive this lapse in judgement...)

I hope you love this book as much as I loved writing it!

I have loved all of these books because they focus on people being real, down to earth "people" vice rich babies who care for no one. I loved this story in particular because it focused on people sacrificing for others.

Fantastic Sweet Romance

This will get your adrenaline going! Riley's a doctor in the Philippines and her boss shows up to check on the project and immediately things go crazy! There's shootings, kidnapping, terrorists, a crazy breakout, and romance. I'm very sad it ended so quickly! I want more! I want an epilogue!
