This book is for complete beginners, so I was a bit disappointed I didn't learn anything new. Pity I didn't read it prior to start lifting because it would be nice to have all the knowledge in one place. There's a lot of well structured and very accessible knowledge, still, it's just basic knowledge. At some stage I would be delighted to have it, now I keep recommending it to my friends who want to start.
I wish I had this book when I first started strength training. This is the perfect guide for someone who wants to know more about the hows and whys of lifting weights, including an excellent illustrated guide to a variety of exercises. For those already including strength training in their regime, this book still provides a useful refresh.
Loved this book which is aimed at beginners looking to lift weights. Honest and insightful Laura gives clear information. Love the concept of the book, would have loved the addition of a beginners training programme added to the end.
I love Laura’s can do, positive attitude to life and tis is a great (reminder for me) in how to look after yourself properly, train smart and maximise your health benefits.
Ideal for beginners but a great reminder to everyone else as well.
My second read of a great, positive book about the benefits of weight training for women. Laura writes in such an enthusiast, encouraging style and has a fantastic Instagram account. A bit more advice on putting together your own plan is the only addition needed.
This book came to me at just the right time. I am at the beginning of my lifting journey and loving it. After reading an article on Laura I wanted to know more. This book gives straight talk, encouragement and guidance on correct form and gym jargon. I highly recommend it.
I enjoyed the subject matter, but felt it took a little too long to get to the educational bits. A good place to get some beginners tips and inspiration
