From my early years watching Murder She Wrote to more recent shows like Monk, Psych, and my absolute favorite BBC show ever, Sherlock, I have studied what it takes to make an entertaining mystery. This 7th book in the Hang Ten series has friends Alyson and Claire are traveling to Sydney: Alyson was given a wild card entry into a world renowned surfing competition all expenses paid, while Claire is meeting with her attorney and her cousin Bianca's attorney on the future of the bookstore in Eden Bay which Claire was given. Apparently, Claire wasn't her grandmother's only heir, there was a cousin no one knew about and she wants the bookstore! Part of Alyson's perk for competing is a high end hotel suite which she shares with Claire. Things get a little out of hand when the girls find a well known singer murdered in the room next to theirs and at the same time, they meet Bianca, Claire's long lost cousin staying at the same hotel. And of course Alyson must keep her head to get through the Qualifying surging round as well as the placement rounds and Claire who was all set to hate her cousin seems to like her a lot. Out of the blue, Alyson's 9 year old niece who she and her brother share the care for shows up at the surfing meet. So much craziness, with Claire thinking she could become the next singing sensation, with a murder to solve (they just can't keep away from it), J Alyson's niece showing up, and the two friends having a falling-out, and sweet Bianca wanting her cousin Claire to like her, yet she is trying to take away Claire's bookstore you just can't put this book down. Can't wait to see the next adventure of Alyson and Claire they always get into so much trouble!

Alyson and Claire are going to Sidney. Alyson to compete in a world class surf contest and Claire to meet up with her cousin Bianca. After checking into the 5* Onyx Hotel, Claire hears shouting next door. When she checks it out, there's a dead blonde on the bathroom floor. Turns out its a famous pop singer. The girls go into investigation mode. But that only last until Claire's Porsche gets vandalised, and she's warned off the case. Claire leaves the Fancy hotel. Alyson finds out about the kiss between Claire and her brother Matt and she's not happy. So do the two friends make up? Does Alyson win the surf contest? Do they solve the murder, and what is Claire going to do about cousin Bianca and the book shop?

Alyson and Claire are trying to mend their friendship after the problems they were having. They are entered in a surfing contest in Sydney when there is a murder at the hotel they are staying at. Is someone targeting the surfers in the contest?
Not everyone wants people to know what is going on and this could cause more tension between the two girls. Can they work together to solve the murder and their friendship? You will need to read the book to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Another fun adventure that has Alyson and Claire traveling to Sydney for a surfing competition. The Hang Ten series is fun and full of sun, sand, surfers and murder. Claire is also meeting a cousin that she did not know existed until recently. There are lots of twists and false leads in the story. You will enjoy the on-again, off-again friendship between Alyson and Claire as they stumble through the mystery. Best friends are usually not so crazy and different, but they make it work. Enjoy the laid back life in Eden Bay. You will be glad you did.

Another great by this superb writer. Claire and her friend Alyson seem to be back together. They go off for a vacation in Sydney and end up trying to solve a murder. Can’t wait for the next book.
