Tracing the cultural trends of the last one hundred years, a richly illustrated overview of American popular culture chronicles the evolution of everything from the first mass-produced goods to popular music and dance crazes to the World Wide Web.
Not sure there is much value in this book other than a walk through the land of nostalgia. It was mildly interesting to read the 20 years prior to my memory and see how early some technologies and fads became established. Some of the timeline of events were worth reviewing. I realized how little I attention I paid to pop culture from the late '80's to the late '90's. Not much use beyond this. Doesn't even make a good coffee table book due to its stark orange cover. Will be resold I'm sure.
I read the 90s version. I think this book made me finally realize how long ago the 90s were and will break me of the habit of thinking the 90s were 10 years ago.
