The Creech: Rage Against Death

Rate this book
Dr. Pashu Battu is an engineer at The Agency, where he has created an in vitro engineered life form: The Creech, creature unbound by man's self-imposed physical limitations. When Battu realizes The Agency intends to exploit The Creech in the name of power and destruction, he resolves to prevent an inevitable tragedy by sabotaging The Agency's project - but he needs help to do it.

Chris Rafferty's first assignment as a reporter is to investigate claims made by a religious cult that The Agency has manifested a "demon". When he meets Dr. Battu, who offers to give him an expose in exchange for Rafferty's commitment to help defeat The Agency and reveal the truth, he agrees. But when Battu's plan goes awry and the creature is loosed on the city, he finds himself trapped in a surreal nightmare where all reality is called into question.

Great comic book artists don't always make great comic book writers.

The art is very cool, the story was alright in the first half, the ending just seemed so forced/fast. The child as a tenuous link to humanity...it was just a bit pedestrian. Which is a shame because the set up was very cool...theres still a lot to like about this but the ending was a bit disappointing.
