When Lynne’s not writing or daydreaming about her next book, she’s drinking coffee and reading or crocheting.

I found this story to be very good! The story was very vivid along with great dialogue. Alex and Lily are a married couple that have to get through Alex's tragic injury while both have emotional trauma to deal with. Lily is stronger than either her husband or she thinks. Lily has so much to do to keep them together, including taking on a company she is hired to do some work for. Suddenly Lily is in danger and being threatened. Alex asks his teammates for help before it may be too late. The story is suspenseful with mystery and romance. I highly recommend this book.

This book had me in tears the whole book. It is that emotional. What Lily and Alex had to go through was an emotional roller coaster that I didn't mind riding until the end. It is amazing what a dog can do for everday people, let alone our soldiers. The runaway hero of this book is Hunter and I love him.

Wow a remarkable story Lynne St James wrote.... I am the wife of a veteran who was hurt in war and can say from experience that it is not ever easy. But in this story not only will you get to see through the eyes of a wounded soldier but the lengths they will go to protect what is most cherished to them. They go to war to protect everyone but mostly to protect those they love so war doesn't come here...to our homes... When I read this book I knew that it was about military life but I was blown away with the accuracy of it all. I read and reviewed it because it was a book to not skip by.
The story is about what a man, a solider, a friend, and above all a husband would do to protect his love. Alex is a wounded soldier, he was injured in Afghanistan which lead him to being in a wheelchair.. I know most think we'll then he is limited to what he can do, but let me tell you for a man with determination nothing is impossible. He stuffers from pain and I believe PTSD and his attitude reflects that but the people who care for him don't let that stop them from caring... His wife is in Danger and he can sense it and her fear he will stop at nothing or let any handicap stop him from taking the problem out. Yes he is realistic so he gets the help from his military family... (I call his friends from the military family because truth be told they are as close if not closer sometimes) to help fix this issue. They not only help with her but with him as well. They get him a service dog and while you read you will see how amazing those animals are and smart too. But will they fix the problem for Lily before her someone gets hurt? Will this effect her business? Will Hunter help heal the pain inside that no one can see for Alex?
Lily is a strong woman married to a military man living a military life but no matter what life throws her way she knows she was blessed because he came back... Yes he is bossy and has an attitude she can do without but she also knows he is in pain... And she would do anything to keep him from having to endure anymore stress than he already has..even if it means her getting hurt. Her business is doing great and taking off in the right direction but some clients are better not to work with. Problems she can handle but a crazy man out to get her is not one of them.... What is she to do? How can she fix this? How to not have her husband stressed over this? What now?
The story literally takes life within the words and I would not be a good reviewer if I told you all its wonders so please read and find out...

Wow! Lynne St. James managed to express a lot of emotion in a short number of pages. Alex Taggart was seriously wounded while serving overseas. While not permanently paralyzed, a piece of shrapnel lodged close to his spine & the pain was unbearable. Alex has to find a way to live with his new reality. Lily Taggert has to accept that their life together has changed & that she needs to be the strong one for a while. Dealing with Alex's moods & the way he has pulled away is difficult but she's determined not to give up on them. After a new addition, things are looking better until she begins to receive threats. She tried to hide it from Alex but as things escalate,Alex turns to his buddies for help protecting his wife.

Ms. St. James does an excellent job of engaging the readers emotions from the beginning words. Through twists & turns, she keeps your attention until the end. I was in tears throughout a portion of the book! I loved how the writer emphasized the family feeling of Alex's teammates & how that feeling continues to exist after they retire or leave the service. I would highly recommend this book!

Alex Barrett survived a bombing on base in Afghanistan but after a few surgeries, he is confined to a wheelchair with shrapnel still lodged in his spine. He may be able to walk again but he has to work hard in rehab. He is grumpy as hell and tries to push his wife Lily away because in his mind he deserves better. In order to help him, his friends push to get him a service dog and well let me tell you he stole the book! Hunter is as much a hero as Alex is. Alex learns that Lily is in trouble and that someone will go to great lengths to scare her off of her biggest project to date and this gives him the push he needs to figure out his new normal, at least his new normal for now.

I enjoyed this book and Lily is a saint. She is the perfect match for Logan and I found myself rooting for them as they navigated through the troubled waters that his injury and state of mind brought on them. Alex goes through what most injured people do when their lives have changed drastically. I hope to see more of Alex, Lily, and Hunter in future stories. I hope that the other challenged that they were facing before he was injured works out in their favor.

In A Soldier's Triumph, Lynne St. James, takes a close look at how a devastating injury can test even the strongest relationship and marriage. Pain, loss of autonomy, anger, survivor's guilt, PTSD and so much more play into Alex Barrett's surly attitude towards his wife and life in general. Lily tries everything she knows to support her husband of ten years but she barely cracks the surface. Meanwhile she must maintain their home and do her job in addition to being a full time caregiver. She's stretched to the limit. Tentions and emotions are high but when she's suddenly endangered it's a big wake-up call for Alex. It's time to pull his head out, step up to the plate and take care of his woman. With the help of friends and his new K9 support, maybe just maybe he'll become a better version of the man he used to be and the man that Lily loves with every fuber of her being.

Wow. I know this is a work of fiction, but this describes a mild version of what ex- military men, and their families go through when they come home after deployments. Especially injured men..the troubles they all face. This story shows the different sides and how they react. So begins the story of Alex and his wife Lily. He had been injured on an assignment and returns home in a wheel chair feeling less of a man, and thinking he isnt good enough for his wife. As he goes through therapy , Lily is being threatened by someone on her new job. Can Alex save Lilys life while hes in the wheelchair? Alex really sees how Ex-military are family and will be there for each other for anything..no questions asked !!!! Great story of love, courage and healing.

Fantastic story...
of course it's difficult for anyone to go through something so tramatic. Not only the pain, the depression, the ptsd but the will to give up and push the ones you love away. It's hard to see pass the bad and see the good, but slowly Alex started seeing how truly blessed he was. He was alive, not many can say that. With Lily's unconditional love and support, along with his friends, family for life, and also Hunter, and getting through a huge bump, Alex realized how truly blessed he is and together with Lily and Hunter by his side they will survive. This was amazing loved loved loved this

Alex is home after being injured. He is still in a wheelchair. He is so busy feeling sorry for himself, he is trying to push Lily away.
Lily is struggling with Alex. She refuses to let him push away. She is also working on a campaign. Now she is being threatened.
Alex now has Hunter. He is a therapy dog. Hunter has actually been helping Alex quite well.
Alex has been offered a job with Chase. When there are more threats, can Alex find the source? Will they find Lily in time when she disappears?

Alex and Lily, friends of the MCs from book 2, get their own book which picks up with his recovery following being injured in Afghanistan. He's angry, depressed and hurting. She's scared but won't let him push her away. Between getting a therapy dog and discovering something is off with Lily's new client, Alex starts to feel more like himself. When things with Lily's client escalate Eagle Security gives Alex a hand and the promise of a job. Lily and Alex have a strong foundation and you'll root for them to weather this storm.

A book you won't want to put down

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a mystery with romance combined. When I started this book, it was late in the evening and I didn't want to stop until I had finished it. I did have to sleep but as soon as I was up the next day I delayed everything until I had finished it. Being retired has it's benefits. If you are working start on a off day when you have time to read.

ENTERTAINING THRILLER

A husband comes back home after being seriously injured while on assignment. For now he is confined to a wheelchair until he heals. He is given a service dog to help during his transition. This story is about the turmoil, struggles and pain both he and his wife are going through. He keeps pushing her away as he feels less of a man and thinks she would be better off without him; until he finds she is being threatened.

Loved this story about Alex, a wounded vet in a wheelchair trying to cope with his life at the moment. His dog Hunter was a big help, but before that he was giving Lily , his wife a really hard time. The new job she took on became dangerous and they sought help from Eagle Security. Lots of action, danger and a brave dog. HEA

A terrific story

Another great addition to this terrific series. I have really enjoyed this series, and this book was no exception. I do wish that the epilogue's were a little longer with more details about what happened after...
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Heroes

Alex and Lilly hit a rough patch but made it through. What I love about this book is what wounded soldiers have to go through. The story has suspense and romance, but it’s the life struggles the soldiers go through that tugs at my heart.

Great and Reads Quickly

This reads quickly and is beautifully written. I love the characters ,especially Hunter. This one has a bad guy in it and very minimal sexual content in it. I'm to the next one.

Lily is a soldier’s wife. She knows the risks. But when Alex is injured and bound to a wheelchair, she isn’t sure Alex was ready to accept those risks. So when her job puts her in danger, can she trust the new Alex with her life?
In A Soldier’s Triumph by Lynne St. James, we see a more painful side of military service. Alex feels less than a man and hurts the one who loves him the most. But Lily is a fighter and determined to fight not only for her man but also her marriage. I loved how Ms. St. James handled this touchy subject. Alex was struggling with his new reality and so is Lily. But with the help of friends, new and old, this couple finds their way through obvious and not so obvious obstacles. I loved Lily’s tenacity. The love she feels for Alex is apparent in everything she does and says. And while Alex is struggling to feel deserving, his love is equally strong. But will he learn what matters too late?
Ms. St. James gives us a story full of love and hope. Although it is a quick read I did not feel rushed. This story is well written and the emotions real. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this world and look forward to where Ms. St. James will take us next.

A Soldier’s Triumph is a wonderful, powerful, and suspenseful story featuring two very strong and stubborn main characters. Lily and Alex have a great marriage, until he is injured during deployment and ends up in a wheelchair. He tries to push his wife away, but Lily pushes back and doesn’t allow him to do that. She continues to work at her design firm business and lands a large contract with a big construction firm, until threats and scary things start happening to put her in danger. It is that danger that makes Alex realize he loves his wife more than anything and would do anything to protect her.

I found this story to be well written and developed. It was difficult to put the story down when I had to and I was eager to continue as soon as possible! As the third book in this series, I believe it can be read as a stand-alone without back story being an issue. My heart hurt for the characters during Alex’s angry phase and my heart raced during the suspenseful parts! I can’t wait to continue and read more from this series and author. Well done!

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

This book was so heartfelt and full of what I imagine, a spouse of someone who is in the Army or such and worries every day of getting that one dreaded phone call. Lynne St. James knows how to put heart-melting romance and heart-breaking moments in a story so fine, it easily becomes a favorite. I have loved her Beyond Valor since book one and I just eat these books up in usually one sitting. Alex and Lily just had me sighing, crying, biting my lip, and begging for more. And the smidgen of danger was the icing on the cake!

I was transfixed by this story from the moment Lily got that phone call that seemed to, at first, change things between them. But the moment Lily is in danger, Alex is back to his protective, sexy self that had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the plot and the storyline..utter perfection!

I give this book a HEART-FELT FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I honestly loved every word, every paragraph, and every single scene in this book. I HIGHLY recommend not just this book, but the whole Beyond Valor series!

A Soldier's Triumph...FIVE GOLD STARS! ! !, February 1, 2017
By Pamela Talley

This review is from: A Soldier's Triumph: An Eagle Security & Protection Agency Novel (Beyond Valor Book 3)

Lynne St James has done it again! A great read from beginning to end. So good to read about characters I made a connection with in the first two books in the Eagle Security & Protection series. Lynne never fails to deliver the excitement, be it plot twists or the sexy bits that keep you reading late into the night. I highly recommend A Soldier's Triumph, Alex and Lily Barrett's story. These books can be read as standalone but for the most enjoyment, I feel they should be read in the order written. Thanks Lynne, can't wait for the next book in the Eagle Security & Protection series.
